- #Hyliion delivered a death blow to it's company this week. Thomas Healy has failed the company in so many ways. One final knockout blow was delivered and this final goodbye to Hyliion is a strong reminder NOT to invest in dogshit. With its magnanimous entry to the Class - 8 Trucking universe touting its industry leading 1000 mile range Hyliion shot to $58 bucks on shear hype and rode the slide down to it's settling price this week of 50 cents. Electricity is just too cheap and Hyliion couldn't sell it's hypertruck ERX because nobody wants it. It's over. Lots.of emotions this week: anger, disappointed, time wasted, regret however as few days have passed and my brain cleared I have a very small feeling that TH has a battle with B.O.D since an offer on ERX was made, possibly by Cummins and TH is against selling but is forced internally to move to Karno until the review is done. What is on surface may not appear behind the scenes . Time will tell friends

Yep something says GE had a lot to say in as far as how Karno is the new focus. It seems they wanted to really hold onto their cash position and not loose a ton of money selling ERX for a loss for a while until they can get the parts deals with bulk purchases. And true, someone like Cummins can leverage cheaper prices from suppliers than a startup like Hyliion, and they can promote the technology in ways Hyliion can't with it's industry partners. I figure as long as GE is still a major player in Hyliion, then like you said there is more going on here than meets the eye.
IF Karno is 20% more efficient than other internal combustion engines (getting it up to say 48% efficiency) & it is put into an aerodynamic chassis, then it might approach 11 MPG which would be great. However it is hard to believe anything TH says, never seen a Karno run, still needs a significant radiator that hurts aerodynamics & would expect 3D printing is expensive. An inexpensive EX using LFP instead of LTO batteries would have been better than the 6 MPG $400,000 ERX. Never really saw the 75 mile electric benefit, only made the ERX heavier & more expensive. The Tesla semi crushed it last December when it used only 1.7 kWh/ mile loaded, which = 23 MPG diesel equivalent. PepsiCo experience has been very positive. Electric drivetrains are 90% efficient. A Megapack can store energy overnight, help the grid & charge 5 semis the next day. Elon has already figured it out, only needs to ramp production. A safer stock bet than HYLN is TSLA or ALB for lithium play, IMO, do your own research. A 5.7% CD or cash may be a better investment than stocks at this time. Cummins 15L CNG is interesting, but expanding CNG network stations is not cheap. However, NG is very cheap, about $20 for the same energy as an $86 barrel of oil.

IMO, 100 percent of the responsibility for our current state lies with Healy. He is the leader. At the end of the day the leader is 100 percent responsible, whether in Hyliion situation or the " Top Man" at a large hydraulic fracturing operation.
Healy didn't just wake up on the morning of, and have a revelation that things were not as had been portrayed for the near, and not so near past.
Had Healy been honest, simply honest throughout , then we all would have been in the proper position to make informed decisions.
He clearly put his own ego, and $ greed above the well being of any investors.
I believe in Hyliion great technologies in the ERX, Karno etc. and believe there is still potential in the products, but ZERO trust with Healy at the helm, any longer.
I’m glad they put a pause on the ERX to reevaluate. I didn’t want them selling it at a loss. Still holding my 2k shares.

HYLN could make a more economical EX with Cummins CNG 9L (more hp than proposed Karno), weighs 1,000 pounds less than 12L & smaller radiator so could improve aerodynamics for better MPG. Also switch to LFP from LTO batteries would probably save at least $10,000 & reduce weight another 1,000 pounds because LFP have twice the energy density.

Remember, at $400K, they are selling the ERX at a LOSS!! I am well versed in the cost of power electronics. Buying at scale, really doesn’t lower your cost that much.

I lost around 40k on HYLN. Its all in Healy's pocket!!!! He can live comfortably for the rest of his life now. I should have trusted myself on the how the ERX is not a viable solution because there is no way you able convert energy from a generator instead of using directly into an engine. Using generator would lose efficiency in terms of energy that is stored in the gas itself!!!!
Healy eroded confidence single-handedly over the past multiple years, and this was just yet another example of this.

This "strageic pause" may not necessarily be bad. After cooling off for a while. If the demand isnt there for the ERX, then is it really that bad to pause for a while and re-evaluate. The current economical climate is damaging the economy and business, yes the way did it is very disappointing. But a cooler head is needed to prevail, lets see what happens Hyliion isnt going to be bankrupt anytime soon. One thing that does need to happen is Healy needs to be removed from a CEO position, clearly demonstrated he is incompetent.
Thomas healy and his track record at Hyliion of not being transparent, delivering this big blow, is very disappointing. He doesn't address the shrinking share price at all.
I bet everyone at investor day is like WTF at the moment

This video title may get new and nervous investors to rush and sell. They have many large investors still. It's only a re-evaluation.
They probably made a good decision to hold and plan. Their CEOis however making a terrible move to not be open, honest. You always get the sense they are hiding things. My shares are worth next to nothing so I might as well do a longterm and appreciate that they have more cash on hand, technology and not too much debt in comparison. Maybe some things will change.
I wonder if Healy deserves bonuses tho. Their bonuses before profit should be in stock only.
My biggest issue as a newer investor is the leadership relationship with thenpubli😅maestros. They seem to talk in code and at other times lack optimism.
Healy doesn't seem to know how to be honest and optimistic together.
As a Navy vet who did not retire with military pension, you are still in the driver's seat as long as you have your health and family. While strangers that do not know my life story suggest it may have been a mistake to get out of the military without a pension, I feel I am doing pretty well and I always give myself permission to make mistakes because I learn from them. Bottom line, no risk no reward! 😎

If this news never came out logic would just hold and buy at .50 cents. If I remove the foundation of a company. Logic will sell because the foundation is gone.
