Appreciate your footage and comments. What a joke of a company though and what a joke of a ceo. I have a small speculative position and learned a lesson.
This whole story just smacks of insane. Company on the cusp of a regulatory-approved solution by 3 different bodies, company decides to presumably abort mission (temporarily?). Company announces they're exploring strategic options to better manage their cash burn, loses over 40% of its value overnight. If you bought the top of its valuation in 2020 and are still holding, you have lost (on paper) 99.988% of your investment's value. Company is not laying claim to have found "the cure" for cancer, or a zero emissions solution to launch to Mars overnight. Still getting treated like a project run fundamentally on a delusional belief system, instead of being a company working from a presumably realistic technology focusing on modest to moderate improvements in fuel efficiency and emissions. Company has run on the claim for what seems like a couple of years now on, "We can't meet the demand because of our supply shortages, unreliable sourcing of the right components, and ever-increasing costs." Company has an entire sub-department that can literally 3d print a machine (from scratch--additive manufacturing) that can run a semi truck, provide backup power to a hospital, or charge the world's EV cars utilizing 20+ different fuel types. But, they can't figure out a way to print their own widgets/nuts/bolts to run the technology they, themselves came up with before knowing how to 3d print the 20+fuel agnostic generator?! That, to me makes little to no sense. Perhaps I'm being extremely simplistic in my assessment of how easy it would be to migrate from powertrain component design to building a generator from the ground up. If you can't get the right components, what is stopping them from buying raw material on the open market and vertically integrating so they aren't beholden to other companies' design teams and their priorities?
Now they go "out of their way" to provide us with this one-way courtesy call, where the implied purpose is, "Don't worry, we'll keep you informed of all the latest updates and there's a reason behind all this chaos and uncertainty--we have a plan!" Instead what we get is, "Hypertruck is a great product, we're just thinking we won't pursue it further as of now. Karno is great technology, it may make money one day. By the way, we aren't going to share any more updates unless something or someone forces our hand legally. We're exploring other options, but we're not going to share what any of these are, and we don't really know what is going to happen. Thanks for tuning in!" What?

I sold out this morning, $24,000 loss....10% of my portfolio, hurts big time but huge lesson learned.
I will never invest into a pre-revenue company again, and likely only invest in free cash flow positives ones going forward.
The +10x potential upside is not forth completely loosing your investment.
Your first problem was calling the company " pre- revenue"... not, no revenue

I use to watch this channel back when it covered boring old dividend stocks, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I stopped watching when the talk shifted to this stock. I didn't understand it so I moved on to other channels. Here I am 4 or 5 years later and just happen to stumble across this in my recommended videos. 😮

If you able to value Karno without having any details on it then your ahead of the market. Until Karno can be valued there is no telling where this goes.

I think I may be on my own here, but here goes…
Most electricity produced for the grid is far from green. How is an RNG (which produces fewer green house gas emissions than diesel and which is likely to continue to be used for some years) ERX not a valid alternative as suggested on many threads? BEV’s are not a viable solution until there is a greater grid capacity and a greener alternative production to the status quo. When they’re not catching fire, how are Tesla trucks going to be charged? If Elon is going to overspend on upgrading the grid for his charging depots, who is going to pay for that? Him? No, the customer. How long are they going to wear that? OK so we put the ERX on hold, continue to get data/feedback from extended fleet trials and watch the BEV’s fail (or the grid which ever comes first) and then re-visit the only viable interim solution when the time is right (…which may well in fact be the Karno version as their first solution by then). Clearly the interest rates are going to put Fleets off from wanting to take the plunge and borrow to get into electrification at the moment but that will resolve itself eventually. In the interim, HYLN is going to focus on providing the solution to charging everyone else’s BEV’s and stay afloat without borrowing, in difficult times for everyone in this space. I’m no more happy about my shares halving in value than anyone else, but if you want to stay afloat you have to make tough decisions. I was working (UK time) when this announcement was made and the market had closed by the time I’d finished but I’ll be buying again at $0.60 as soon as the markets open tomorrow without a doubt. Knowing what you do about the difficulties this company would face if they tried to force their way into a market with little to no interest due to the current economic climate, would you prefer them to push on knowing that and risk going belly up? Or take a moment and play to their strengths which is Karno all day long? I might be alone in thinking this is exactly what needed to be done…I’m sure you’ll all tell me different (and worse). HYLN strong and long! 🚛💪

Ryan, I used to watch your channel back in the day and loved it, you preached diversification and investing in quality companies. Then came the SPAC craze and you missed out but thought you found a gem after the fact in Hyllion. You are literally following this thing into the ground and your followers have followed you right over the cliff. Just read these comments and see how much money people have lost. You used to criticize Jeremy and have literally done the exact same thing.
I miss the days of him talking about Duke Energy and Exxon Mobil.
Remember when Thomas sold all those shares over the years. He now has a diversified portfolio that does not include Hylion. Time for the "Board" to review his tenure as CEO.We need a "Buffet Style " CEO who can be open and honest with shareholders. Time to leave Thomas, you DID NOT DELIVER.

Ryan, good stuff as usual. Keep up the great work. I keep hearing that Hyliion is trying to better manage cash burn. So the questions I have are:
1. Components for builds are always bought in the future based on lead times. Did they only buy a set of 30 if even that (well see November)?
2. Thomas and BOD taking a pay cut?
3. Overhead is still there, are there major layoffs based on the shift?
Too many things dont add up.
Could there be a merger brewing for Hylion?

It is very weird how Hyliion was the company that lots of people thought were not scammy in comparison to Nikola. Not that Nikola is all clean but in comparison seems like Hyliion was worse. So SAD, very sad.

@@ShitinthemorningERX Economics were based on $1/gallon compressed RNG, when the national average CNG price is $3. TH Stating EV semis use 2.2 kWh per mile with no load & even more kWh when loaded. Tesla comes in at 1.7 fully loaded. TH made up his own “facts” & buyers of semis saw through this, no sales at $400,000.

From the sound of the hearing,,the review is based on the decline of company interest in the truck and the money isn't there for company to buy these type of truck,,other than that the company is still in good shape if business pick back up
