I knew Mrs. Masters was the girl in the tale as soon as she knocked over the champagne, but I thought it was going to be that something busted Morton too, and Masters was the recipient of both men's bad luck, I was bowled over that Masters WAS Morton!

It’s really a shame, yet very enlightening, that these older stories are so full of casual, taken-for-granted racism (native Americans in this story) and antisemitism (the nose and “bad guy”). No wonder world wars subsequently resulted and unwarranted hatred of others threatens peace even today.
