I updated my Launchbox to my license and I didn't lose anything. All I did was drag my license from my old Launchbox folder into the one on the drive and everything was fine.
My 12tb drive is on the way. I have my own launchbox licence i imagine that if i copy over my licence.xml file all will be fine i have used it on a few pc's over the years without issue.
@@simonguppy6023 Yes for those that have the license it's as simple as copying over your original license. The issue I have is that you know what launchbox is and you already have a license there's plenty of people out there that are buying this as a plug in play device and might accidentally update the device which will cause them to lose big box. Another issue is there are some reviewers who have criticized launchbox for being badly optimized I am wondering is that due to it being from what I've heard a very outdated copy of the software again not all reviewers know that but can KinHank does know it's outdated. Like I said in a video I might get to drive and check it out
Exactly. The paid version is worth it but using a outdated pirated version isn't a good thing IMO. It might explain some reviewers having issues with launchbox
Interesting. I ordered one a few days ago and was totally unaware of this. I know it comes with a bunch of pirated PC games, but I was going to delete those (I already own the ones I want) and use the space for more PS2/360/PS3 games instead. Think I'll buy the one year licence when the hard drive arrives. Seems from the comments below that you can copy the licence XML file over and it should work (which is pretty much what it says on the Launchbox website as well).
I pointed that out the first time I saw one of those reviews, also all the PC Games are cracked copies. I dont really agree with either of those practices. I mean it's all piracy one way or another but I truly hate to see Launchbox get the shaft because the Devs are absolutely Awesome and don't deserve that. The same could be said for cracked PC Games, it's one thing to pirate old roms that will never make a red penny again for the original devs or companies but cracked PC games feels a bit shady. Maybe it's semantics I dont know just my opinion. I would rather build my own drive anyways.
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 I'm inclined to agree with you when it comes to the PC games as well as pirating launchbox I'm not really for it. However I'm ok with old systems/ROMs that like you said. I might buy this drive and that a closer look at the files and folders

Launchbox is worth the paid version. Nothing in it will erase anything or break anything. Using the pirated version... well no guarantees.

It's a scam there hard drive don't work at all no drives for it to connect to p.c and you can't update hard drive no support from seller
