Jiaxing, also known as Hecheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province. It is one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta and a tourist city with Jiangnan water town characteristics approved by the State Council. As of 2021, the city has 2 districts, 2 counties, and 3 county-level cities under its jurisdiction. Jiaxing has a land area of 3,915 square kilometers and a sea area of 4,650 square kilometers. As of the end of 2021, the permanent population of Jiaxing City is 5.516 million. In 2021, Jiaxing City achieved a gross domestic product of 635.528 billion yuan.
Jiaxing is located in the east China region, northeast of Zhejiang Province, and the hinterland of the Hangjiahu Plain in the Yangtze River Delta. It is adjacent to Shanghai and Suzhou in the north, Huzhou in the west, Hangzhou in the south, and Shaoxing across the river. It is adjacent to Hangzhou Bay in the east. It is located at the intersection of rivers, lakes and seas, and is the throat of the Taihu South Corridor. It is an important city in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the Shanghai metropolitan area, the core city of the Zhejiang Greater Bay Area, and the sub-central city of the Hangzhou metropolitan area.
Jiaxing is a national historical and cultural city. Its establishment began in the Qin Dynasty. It has a humanistic history of more than 2,000 years. It has been a prosperous and wealthy place since ancient times. It is known as the "land of fish and rice" and the "home of silk". Jiaxing has produced many celebrities, including Mao Dun, Xu Zhimo, Jin Yong, Jin Xueshu, Chen Shengshen, Wang Guowei, Feng Zikai, Zhang Leping and other famous masters. Jiaxing's natural scenery is famous for its tides, lakes, rivers and seas. It has three 5A-level scenic spots, Nanhu, Wuzhen and Xitang, as well as Yanguan (Qianjiang Tide), Nanbei Lake, Qiyuan, Yuehe Historical District, Meihuazhou, Jiulong Mountain, Donghu, Mo's Manor, Mao Dun's Former Residence, Xu Zhimo's Former Residence and other attractions, which constitute the characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town; the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China was successfully concluded in Jiaxing. It is the birthplace of the Communist Party of China and an important revolutionary memorial in China's modern history. Since 2013, Wuzhen Drama Festival and Xitang Hanfu Culture Week have been held every year. In 2014, Wuzhen, Jiaxing became the permanent venue of the World Internet Conference. In September 2018, it won the "2018 China-Europe Green Smart City Award".

Whatever the media says, as a citizen of India, I am amazed by the development of China. This is THE biggest achievement of this century till date. Chinese cities looks very clean and eye pleasing. Would love to visit one day.

Not sure if anyone notice the new traffic pattern from China although seems complicated, people choose the right lanes and following rules very well! Many cities in China are beautiful and organized very well, combine with new and old development, the traffic and road condition has big improvement compared to old China from my memory and experienced, well done!
