One of my OCs is a "superhero" simply called Ninja. There's nothing super remarkable about their outfit, it's just the standard ninja thing, blue and all. In fact, the setting I put them in already has ninjas, at least one of which you already covered on this show, My Hero Academia. What is Ninja's quirk? Well, before talking about that, I have to admit, though they portray themselves as just 1 person, they're actually 3 separate people, all sharing the same superhero identity, each of the 3 are unrelated, and each have a different quirk, though they all share a similar function, to better enable hiding. One of them has a quirk she calls Chameleon, wherein her hair and clothes changes colors and pattern, enabling her to hide in plain sight in most locations; she can also cling to walls and ceilings like a lizard, but that's secondary to the camouflage. The second one has a quirk she calls Ghosty, which enables her (and her weapons and clothing) to phase through inanimate objects and levitate. The Chameleon Ninja and the Ghosty Ninja strive to look as much alike as possible when under the Ninja moniker, but the third one uses a quirk they call Changeling, enabling them to change their appearance, including the appearance objects and of other people, even their voice, though it's just based on what they've seen and heard, they can't get any hidden or unknown details right, but it works well enough. Through their performance of the proper shadow clone jutsu, along with other ninja techniques, they create confusion on just what exactly Ninja's quirk is.
in epi 42 murasaki comes back to attack goku but outside the tower and he ends up being much more efficient as a ninja than when he had to defend a floor which is certainly not the right job for a ninja.
i gotta figure the Bunshin was employed in this manner more often than reported, tricky as it is to prove or disprove. much as the lone wolf shinobi makes for great legends and would certainly be easier to practice, i’d wager shinobi were more likely the “black ops” backbone of samurai military forces, if Sun Tzu’s policies about spy tactics was anything to go by. and as a black ops unit, tight coordination like the Murasaki’s display would’ve been paramount.
Great video, Gaijin. Here's some other characters you could cover: Gray Fox (Metal Gear) Daredevil (Marvel) Vega (Street Fighter) Storm Shadow (GI Joe) Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins/Shadows (DC) Corvo (Dishonored) Raizo (Ninja Assassin) The Onmitsukidō Stealth Force (Bleach) Hanzo (Hunter x Hunter)

I dunno about that, the humiliation of defeat often depend somewhat on Who beat you. When your one noteable defeat came from one of, if not The, most noteable warrior in world history, i'd imagine most are willing to overlook it.
I believe that I remember watching a modern day ninja practitioner and master explain the mizugumo were meant for traversing rice paddies rather than ponds or lakes. more intended to keep the feet dry without disturbing the area too extremely than walking on water. that said, i'm pretty sure the myth busters built theirs wrong as they folded inwards a bit too easily. some versions of them i've seen on display have what appear to be dowels of some sort interconnecting the paddles to keep them rigid while the twine bound them to the sandal allowing the foot to rise up and down with the steps. Mind i'm definitely no historian or a modern practitioner, just adding in my two cents from my own research materials and such. Regardless if Murasaki is a legit ninja or not, you have to admit he is one of the more fun ones in animated media if nothing else.
I do also think that is the case, or at least one of the uses. The bottom of those pads is basically mud, moving through mud is slow, energy intensive, and tricky, very easy to get stuck. In fact, there is a thing called mud patterns (I think) that some people use to walk on mud. I think this could work in a similar way, with the added benefit of being better able to walk on shallow waters (with muddy soild beneath (a single piece would generate more resistance going through the water). Also cheaper and easier to make before modern play wood was a thing.
I would say the idea is they got so good at the first hit that once someone survived it they forgot how to do literally everything else. And there's also the fact that the reason he's defeated is because he didn't follow ninja principles, Him being a bad Ninja makes him a good demonstration of what Ninja shouldn't do in this case rest on your laurels and get cocky.
The proposed actual use of the water strider shoes amuses me to imagine. Though, I agree they'd probably be too large and heavy to carry around just incase they needed to escape by water during their mission, so my thought is they might have either carried it to a potential escape route way whole before their mission, or perhaps brought it their piece by piece and assembled there ahead of time, by the ninja or by another whose task was to prepare escape routes should the infiltrator need them.

@@aaroncross6874 Absolutely, but there was still some good stuff in there. In particular, that bit about studying the habits of chimps (nature) to make medicine is two fairly deep ninja cuts in one.

Another amazing vid as always. Question: what do you think of a "Which Ninja?" episode on the raptor dinosaurs? I get this idea from the "ninja village" episode of Dinosaur King where we see a trio of Deinonychus behave like cliched ninjas. But that got me thinking: even if they didn't do ninja stuff in a traditional sense, could science explain an animal acting ninja-like without realising it? MORE BELOW!!! Ex.: pack hunting during a thunderstorm to confuse prey Also, funfact: the killing claw on a raptors foot isn't a slicing tool, it's designed to function more like a grappling hook. Similar to a ninja's kaginawa. Just an idea, your channel, your choice.
Animals acting like ninja? Easily. Cats fit this bill, both historical and stereotypical, as veritable ninja of the animal kingdom. Cats are scary-efficient predators because they're stealth hunters. There's at least one video where big cats, even in captivity, have used background noise to mask their stalking. See the video "Silky Stalking", where a tiger named Mohan is baited by a cameraman to stalk him... with a chain fence blocking him off, thankfully. Apparently, lions like rain because thunderstorms will also make it harder for them to be heard. Plus, cats climb trees and leap between them. Even domestic cats -- especially wilder ones like savannahs and bengals -- also like being perched up high. It's safety from predators, which could fit a ninja staying out of sight with Tanuki Gakure No Jutsu. The fact that cats hunt at night also fit the idea of ninja stealth and espionage; they go out when their prey may be sleeping, or otherwise unaware. As for cats being really appealing to some humans? Hey, it's not just for kunoichi to hide in plain sight, in spite of what a ninja can really do. One could see a cat's meowing as manipulative -- being on the same wavelength as a human baby's crying -- which could fit a ninja's deception to get closer to their goal. Cats are also great survivalists, if stray or especially feral, because they're not quite as domesticated as some people might think (especially compared to dogs, who were once wolves long ago). And unless they're cornered or protecting their young, cats also aren't afraid to run when attacked. When they do fight, they're vicious with claws and caterwaul / roar, both a bit of psychological warfare. A big cat's roar terrifies animals to no end, and a small cat's wail is horrific to hear. Because of their claws as weapons and the veritable "kiai" of a caterwaul or roar, I still like the idea that an intelligent cat race in fantasy, sci-fi, etc would have sophisticated unarmed martial arts. So... yeah. Very cool to learn a bit about raptors and their ninja-like abilities. I wouldn't have thought their big claw was for climbing, not disembowling like Jurassic Park described.
So worth the wait! I had no idea shinobi used guns! Now I gotta find a way to sneak that into my next D&D sesh. WAIT! Can you do a How Ninja is the Rouge Class in D&D video?
Technically, he did already. He has a ninja-inspired build he made for a 5e Kenku character, using the Rogue class and Arcane Trickster as his archetype, in a prior video. I wanna say it was made about two years back?
Ninjas always get hyped up as shadow warriors but looking at their real tactics, they're mostly just good at hiding and mind tricks. Murasaki has all the tools, even some that are probably mythical, but he either uses them wrong in a straight fight (just trying to hide) or Goku is able to use them better with his own physical ability and able to pick up new skills. The one that even gives Goku trouble isn't some magical cloning technique but just call in more guys for intimidation, really good for confusing someone once you're caught but most of the damage done is just all of them having a sword (or gun). Even that's a little odd since the first episode has Goku getting shot in the head, idk if it's a special RR gun or he's just playing along assuming everyone has something that would kill him but when he's serious he will just shrug off bullets, even in this arc. All the right tools but taking on someone well out of his league.
This just proves that kid Goku could solo the Naruto world. Murasaki is a real ninja in the sense that he used tricks to seem like he was using ninjitsu and is at peak human form. If Goku wasn't a Saiyan, the first crescent kunai would have gone straight into the back of his skull . . So is he a real ninja, yes . . real as in what we would have seen in our world, no magic just illusions and trickery. But given Goku is a space monkey he makes Musashi look like any other human opponent
considering Pre-Vegeta Dragon Ball was actually a Martial Arts comedy, & Toriyama is the kind of person to be very openly fanboyish. Yeah he most likely did the research & then Comedy-filtered it
Those floatation devices don't look portable but is it possible they could've been left part-way along a pre-planned escape route for use while escaping.

I think the idea that the mizgumo was used to "cross water" might be a case of lost in words, and people making more of it than it probably ever was. I definitelly don't think that other theory is it, it seems pointless and combersome for not real benefit over just swiming or walking without it. Just analysing the object itself. Is several small wood boards that can be put together to function like a bigger one, but more portable and easier to conceal than one (not just while transporting, but in the environment). That is it. If people used it to cross deeper waters, they probably used it like a lifeguard float/rescue can (reminiscent design, actually). Easy way to compensate the density of carried items, keep your head/breating holes consistently and steadily above water, and to move through such waters silently with just minimal body exposure above water. Can also be used to float items instead, either above it or handing underneath (in which configuration you can even disguise the top as the water lilies it looka bit like). If it was ever worn on foot, then it would be to cross water, as in rice fields, mud/marsh, etc., similar to how a mud pattern works. This would be "using it to cross water", but not cross on top of it, but rather to better deal with the soft soil under it.
okay i have to say the wood floaty thing could be possible as there are woods both light and very buoyant most of which are native to Japan and the Nordic counties
It's simple really. Muraski is dealing with a kid... an impressionable kid.. a kid he can recruit. Despite being goofy.. what if... and I will say it... All of Muraski's original bumbling, mistakes and more...was to get Goku to like him more and recruit him. Goku is a strong kid and the Red Ribbon army is one of the strongest army's in the world... If Goku joins them... it would mean Red Ribbon gets to rule earth. So Muraski bumbles abit, makes goku laugh, explains the tricks to him all the foster Goku's trust and have Goku want to be trained by the Ninja. Thus turning a mighty warrior into an apprentice.. If anything... murasaki and his brothers do one last ditch effort when things go wrong and even then it is ONLY when they can't recruit Goku, Murasaki turns to Eight. So like a True Ninja, all he did was: "Try to convince the enemy to join them, try to trick the enemy, try to impress the enemy to back down and finally try to take the enemy down then escaping when things go too far." That said.. I think Toriyama was just having fun.. but if we're gonna look Deeper.. We could maybe see Murasaki "training" Goku to be an ultimate Ninja. (Even though Goku is the better Ninja already.)
Another Ninja you should check out for a new Which Ninja: Jack, The Ghostrunner. He ticks a lot of the obvious boxes already. Acrobatic, wide array of tools and abilities, not a 1 man army in that even a single hit can kill you, needs to know his surroundings and set a plan of attack before engaging.
Back when I first saw Murasaki's debut, I was thinking "Wow, Goku had better have his A-game for this encounter". Then, all that disappeared in a smoke bomb the very second Murasaki ended up with the Power Pole stuck in his ass.
Im glad you came back to Which Ninja... It feels like its been forever since the last episode... Would you be while to take a look at Daredevil or the Assass's Creed Assassins in a future episode??? I feel like theres a lot there that really stands out about their Weapons, Tactics, Skills, and Purpose of them...
My favorite part of ninja murasaki is when dr flappe removes the bomb from android eight, and it lands on ninja Murasaki, and he blows himself up using the remote to the bomb, because he’s trying to kill Android 8 for being a traitor

Through their performance of the proper shadow clone jutsu, along with other ninja techniques, they create confusion on just what exactly Ninja's quirk is.
thats really clever.....i like it
man, nice use of confusion to frustrate someone like Izuku on figuring out how Ninja's quirk works
Finally I waited for this for a long time. I thought for a while you abandoned this one but it makes sense with what was happening.
So funny story about the olympic gymnastics in the trees, that was anime exclusive. It was a more believable down swing in the manga to the house.
in epi 42 murasaki comes back to attack goku but outside the tower and he ends up being much more efficient as a ninja than when he had to defend a floor which is certainly not the right job for a ninja.
i gotta figure the Bunshin was employed in this manner more often than reported, tricky as it is to prove or disprove. much as the lone wolf shinobi makes for great legends and would certainly be easier to practice, i’d wager shinobi were more likely the “black ops” backbone of samurai military forces, if Sun Tzu’s policies about spy tactics was anything to go by. and as a black ops unit, tight coordination like the Murasaki’s display would’ve been paramount.
Nice a part 2, let’s see if this goofy red ribbon rascal is really accurate or not
Great video, Gaijin. Here's some other characters you could cover:
Gray Fox (Metal Gear)
Daredevil (Marvel)
Vega (Street Fighter)
Storm Shadow (GI Joe)
Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins/Shadows (DC)
Corvo (Dishonored)
Raizo (Ninja Assassin)
The Onmitsukidō Stealth Force (Bleach)
Hanzo (Hunter x Hunter)
Murusaki got out ninjad by Kid Goku. Man that’s embarrassing Im surprised Murusaki even decided to join the Time Patrol and show his face in the Xenoverse games
And there's also the fact that the reason he's defeated is because he didn't follow ninja principles,
Him being a bad Ninja makes him a good demonstration of what Ninja shouldn't do in this case rest on your laurels and get cocky.
TFS Nappa: "Vegeta! I don't.. believe it."
Also, 2:54 was not expecting that kind of fanservice from here.
Actually unintentional. It was just a good pop-ninja example of the jutsu.
@@GaijinGoombah
Might want to censor for youtube.😄
So, where was that pic from anyway?😁
Well, this snuck up on me. Like a ninja!
Future episode suggestion GG.... do an episode on the Yomawari games. Apparently their critters are heavily inspired by Yokai legends and I would love to hear more, especially as these are some of the more unique horror games around.
2 years, 2 YEARS! but is finally here
Blessings to you Goomba
I was actually just thinking about this series of yours because I was rewatching the episode of Zyuranger with Dora Ninja. I don’t know if there’s enough there for an entire episode, but give it a watch, I saw stuff I know you’d appreciate AND stuff that would make you facepalm.
That episode was funny yet crazy dumb though. 🤣
@@aaroncross6874 Absolutely, but there was still some good stuff in there. In particular, that bit about studying the habits of chimps (nature) to make medicine is two fairly deep ninja cuts in one.
I've been waiting for this Video for a long time and it did not disappoint
i haven't touch anything dragon ball for so long that i don't even remember this character... ended up googling it.
ps: couldn't believe you guys haven't done a corvo attano, emily kaldwin, daud, and billie lurk which ninja episode... you can even make multiple episodes of who is the better/the closest to a ninja series.
Tbh those shoes look like they be great for walking over shallow swamp waters that if u touch the ground your foot would sink in if anything.
6:37 unless the target is drugged into seeing after images.
It just occurred to me, have you ever done a 'Which Ninja' on the Samurai Jack vs. The Shinobi from Episode XL: Samurai versus Ninja?
With the house being a ninja house, I'm willing to believe that the tatami is rigged so it can be flipped with ease.
Ex.: pack hunting during a thunderstorm to confuse prey
Also, funfact: the killing claw on a raptors foot isn't a slicing tool, it's designed to function more like a grappling hook.
Every time I hear a ninja uses a gun I giggle little bit my apologies I’m American, and I approve this message
How Ninja is Sly Cooper from the Sly Cooper series?
Yes, I would love to see it.
So worth the wait! I had no idea shinobi used guns! Now I gotta find a way to sneak that into my next D&D sesh. WAIT! Can you do a How Ninja is the Rouge Class in D&D video?
Did you know that 3.5e D&D has a ninja base class? It's a mix of rouge and some magical powers that are ninja stereotypes.
@@graywolfdracon No I didn't know. That sounds like so much fun! I gotta bring that up whenever I get to play again!!
Thankyou for the info btw* 😁
@@SmexiiWade you're welcome.
Maybe the Murasaki Bros' gun fires special, more dangerous bullets.
I think Toriyama has forgotten this character ever existed.
Yeah he most likely did the research & then Comedy-filtered it
Still waiting on a Which Ninja episode for Agent 47. He's a master class in Yonin infiltration.
You know nostalgia critic did research and said I ninja seeing that with my ancient weapon a gun
So accurate
Recently I started wondering how Ninja characters and weapons in RWBY are.
Those floatation devices don't look portable but is it possible they could've been left part-way along a pre-planned escape route for use while escaping.
Funny enough the first part of this came out around the time I was watching the original Dragonball with friends. And we were around this section back then. XD
WOW!!!!
THE ONLY MEDIA THAT WILL E-V-E-R DO THE MOST REALISTIC WAY TO DO THE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU; By having Quintuplets Dressed in the same Way; Dressed in the same Clothes; Speaking in the same way;
Honestly. . . It'd be WAY too Forced in ANY OTHER Show that wasn't the Gag Shonen series that was THE First Shonen Manga & Anime that made its way OUT of Japan!!
I love it when patience pays off
the wait was worth it! what a great video!
About time part 2 came out PS a topic that I would like to see him tackle is how a ninja would act in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Lobotomized?
Spongebob narrator: TWO YEARS LATER...
Time For A Ninja Bounty Hunt
Since you're done with Murasaki, perhaps you should make a video about Shuriken School.
okay i have to say the wood floaty thing could be possible as there are woods both light and very buoyant most of which are native to Japan and the Nordic counties
So like a True Ninja, all he did was: "Try to convince the enemy to join them, try to trick the enemy, try to impress the enemy to back down and finally try to take the enemy down then escaping when things go too far."
That said.. I think Toriyama was just having fun.. but if we're gonna look Deeper.. We could maybe see Murasaki "training" Goku to be an ultimate Ninja. (Even though Goku is the better Ninja already.)
Is it only me but who else wants to see the Goomba flying into a rage when it's time to cover Naruto.
I mean, I already covered Naruto to the extend I planned to.
I'm surprised. Didn't think we would get a Which ninja on Goku of all people.🤣
I's funny, I completely forgot there was a part one to this until I started the video.
Regular Gun was used by shinobi huh.
Cowboys are ninjas. Gotcha.
In one of the lupin movies he went against some ninja brothers
Thank you for the Easter egg of disgaea ^_^
Referring to Goku as a little gremlin is the best lmao
Another Ninja you should check out for a new Which Ninja:
Jack, The Ghostrunner.
He ticks a lot of the obvious boxes already. Acrobatic, wide array of tools and abilities, not a 1 man army in that even a single hit can kill you, needs to know his surroundings and set a plan of attack before engaging.
Been waiting for this
Back when I first saw Murasaki's debut, I was thinking "Wow, Goku had better have his A-game for this encounter".
Then, all that disappeared in a smoke bomb the very second Murasaki ended up with the Power Pole stuck in his ass.
I remember playing Battle of Z as Hokage Goku and hearing Sean Schemmel call out "Use My Chakra" while healing teammates was WEIRD.
Well RIP Slick Goku
My favorite part of ninja murasaki is when dr flappe removes the bomb from android eight, and it lands on ninja Murasaki, and he blows himself up using the remote to the bomb, because he’s trying to kill Android 8 for being a traitor
Regular gun is the best ninja weapon. Idk why that bit made me laugh so hard
For the next Which Ninja, could you do Prowl from Transformers Animated?
I did not even knew there supposed to be a second part
Just because you're incompetent doesn't mean you aren't a Ninja.
Now that we're finished with Murasaki, now we can get a Which Ninja on Mai Shiranui.
Please?
Now that you brought up HurricaneYellow's strawman, are you going to take on Super Sentai any time?
I mean they've gotten three ninja seasons (Kakuranger, Hurricaneger and Ninninger), there's gotta be a good video to be made from that.
Patience is a virtue that ninja must master in order to survive.
Missed this series.
Thank you so much and I completely understand the situation thank you good sir.
the long awaited sequel is here
Since tears of the kingdom is around the corner you should do a which Ninja episode on the hero of the wild, many of the tactics and abilities Link displays/utilizes in breath of the wild (such as manipulating his environment, using anything he can find as a weapon, using items to lure enemies, etc,) especially the early game when he's very squishy feel very Ninja like.
I just had a crazy Idea for an episode of which Samurai. How Samurai are the Companions from Skyrim, cause one they don't use magic, save for the who werewolf bit, and two they seem to have a form of honor and obey a master in the form of their leaders from the circle. So how close are they?
I’ve never seen you ever do a video on an anime called Mononoke before and I was very curious specifically about the nopperabo
