Like it or hate him he literally advocated for Stephen A & Shannon even when networks said no. Dude is a pioneer of sports media and an ally no matter how many people say he isnt. They dont know the history. Salute to skip

He gave an opportunity to Shannon and he destroyed his legacy by becoming jealous of Shannon. It's time for him to retire.

I had a co-worker whom I worked with for 3 years. We worked incredibly well and became close friends, but in our last 4 months, we had a major falling out, and it became hard for us to be around each other. I got frustrated and left the company to start a new career, and it saved me financially and personally. I'm coming up on my year anniversary of quitting and found out she got fired 2 months back for something out of her hands.
People and old co-workers kept asking me if I felt joy or happy she got fired and I told them "No, she was a great employee but putting my feelings aside she didn't deserved to be let go and I'm sad because I know how much that job meant to her." I reached out the next day. She thought I was going to gloat. I told her how I felt, and now we are back to being friends again.
It's a complex emotion, but don't take pride in someone else's downfall or failure. It doesn't do anything. I could never express how complicated that feeling was, and SAS did it perfectly.

I miss Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith duo. It was very entertaining. It was very good to see Skip talking with his heart and emotions and Stephen A trying to apply some reason. It was a show and its sad that it came to an end regardless of the reasons. Much respect for Stephen A and much respect for Skip Bayless. They made ESPN fun and entertaining. Fun and entertaining is lacking in ESPN today.

When you call someone's bluff, you better have something to back it up. The heads at FS1 are just as much to blame. It would be interesting to know what the conversation was between the network heads and Skip after the major on air blow-up between Skip and Shannon. Did Skip give them the ultimatum, or did they decide on their own to keep Skip and let Shannon go? I suspect if Skip gave Shannon the push, then this is poetic justice. If it was the heads' decision, maybe they should have tried harder to keep Sharpe (which would have meant holding Skip accountable)?

Many times I would analyze after the shows, was it Skip or Stephen A. I was more drawn to watching the show.
And I would always have the same outcome, it was that incredible chemistry they had together!

This was awesome Steven A. You and Skip together were the most electric duo ever, I believe that was the best version of First Take and loved Cari too. I am a bigger fan of yours but as someone who works in media it is nice to see the love here and appreciation for such a long career. Even tho he can have some whack takes Skip started the debate stuff with Cold Pizza and pioneered a lot of new ideas after a lengthy career as a journalist and for that he has my respect. You have taken it to new heights as a knowledgeable, entertaining figure with a magnificent command of the english language. This was nice to see and it would warm my heart to see a reunion w Skip on your podcast one day. Love to Shannon as well, you and him are also must watch.
