Lmmmao he put up the dream bag lol I always felt that reminded me of a Birkin with wings 😂
Hahahaha indeed. We all know what the dream bag is
@ 👊🏾😆keep the videos coming! your the coolest and only leather crafter I resonate with on TH-cam: blessings bro 🙏🏽
Great content Will 👍🏻
Thank you so much
You should do a stitching chisel review or even a comparison if you have access to multiple different brands. I'm about to buy my first big boy chisels and would love to hear your take. Currently looking at the same Pro Atelier chisels you use as well as Kevin Lee's, KS blade, BG & Corter, and Crimson Hides. Also open to other suggestions. I'm in the US and primarily make gun holsters and knife sheathes.
Great idea for a video, loving your content
Thank you
Could you do a tear-down on a real Hermes Birkin Himalayan croc?....Just a thought.. 😂🤣😂😂
I’d love to mate, wanna send one over? 😂
I looked up the brand website out of curiosity and they say "The Iconic French Handbag Brand". LMAO HILARIOUS! Amazing the lengths the Chinese will go to, to produce a cheap product! I wonder what the actual cost of the making this bag is in the end. The feel of carrying such a cheaply made bag can't be satisfying at all! I'll never look at a bag the same that is a cheapo now that you have shown us the truth of this. I vote for learning to make your own to save money, then having the pride you did it yourself and produced a very special one of a kind piece. That is why I watch these YT leather crafts people. Will, especially has such great tutorials! Actually it was an education see how this was put together. Thanks Will!
Funny you said that I just I'm watching this video tutorial and others because I am going to hand make my own bacon with genuine crocodile skin top flap and accents
great video Will. Have a great weekend!
Thank you, you too!!
Really interesting to learn about what they have in there. Well done video! Glad I came across your channel!
Thanks so much for watching!
Excellent video!. Did you replace the bag with a quality one that you made?.
The client has ordered one from me yes
Hi there will came across your site as I am looking at all Leather work on different sites picking up a little hints... PS I am a Hodges living in Australia... Saw your video on something else and you said you wanted people to subscribe so I did...LOL... Anyhow I come from a background of fine arts and loving handbags... So I started buying secondhand authentic designer bags in bad condition and restoring them which has synced into Leather courses and stitching and recently made a Birkin bag kit bag looks fantastic a lot better than your little Chinese cheapo... But getting onto my next project of having purchased a pattern for the Birkin I'm going to buy my own Leather including genuine Australian crocodile and hand sew my own bag... If you can give me any hints on your site or other sites for good leather tips that would be great cheers Julie 😁
Hi Will! Thank you for this. Excellent video! I’ve often wondered what construction material and techniques that would be used to create. I’m working to design a luxury bag in an archetype shape like a Kelly, Birkin and Constance Hybrid with some of the styling. What are the most important things to consider when doing this process from the construction perspective? Leather, support materials, thread, hardware and of course, overall design. Is it possible in a future video to do handbag design review?
Have you seen the fake bags in Turkey? They are so well made and not cheap.
I haven’t, no
Cool stuff!
Looks like something you would buy from Poundland for a fiver.
Isn’t that terrible that you can get such crap though?
😂
Calling Peter Nitz a copy makes me sick 🤢 no respect for the master
Oh well
Knife from IBEX? Once upon a time I had the pleasure of disassembling a $500 Leather Halliburton Briefcase, the low quality leather that was used, and it was very thin like 1 ounce, not sure what that equates to in MM. but was sandwiched with that same plastic + cardboard and thin foam for padding, just pathetic.
Yep, my favourite precision knife to use! The techniques used in mass production are disgraceful
@@WillHodges I have the same one that's how I noticed...ha ha ha love your videos!
it's ridiculous to pay over a 1000$ for any handbag, not matter who made it and from what material, it's just "prestige" marketing at this point. disgusting
You’re totally welcome to your opinion. But some people value their time and the time for quality craftsmanship
@WillHodges Sure, I get that, but this is such a first world problem.. it really is sad what we are deciding to do with our money.. besides that. No amount of work and material is worth 100k when it's a handbag smaller than a regular backpack
@@dot6102 $100k is excessive, but my handbags are well above $1000
@WillHodges Yeh 1000 isn't that crazy for something one of a kind, handmade, and tailored for a specific person, but add one more zero, and it's ludicrous. Same with Watches, Cars, Furniture etc. etc. lots of it is insanely overpriced
