- Watch this before traveling to BODHGAYA, BIHAR. This BODHGAYA VLOG will help you in planning your trip. In this video i will take you through the BODHGAYA TEMPLE TOUR. I have covered all the temples in bodhgaya, UNESCO world heritage site.
In this video, I have included mahabodhi temple, bodhi tree and several other major buddhist temples and monasteries.
This video is very close to my heart as I was born in the same state, Bihar and I had been surrounded with the ideology of Buddhism from my childhood.
Bodh Gaya is where Gautam Buddha attained supreme enlightenment. Since then, it has become religious center and people come here to see Mahabodhi temple and tree.
Bodh Gaya is located in Gaya district of the North India state of Bihar.You can reach Bodh Gaya by flight. There are few direct flights from several major Asian countries. Or you can come via Patna through road or rail.The best time to visit Bodh Gaya is winters which is usually busy and temple is generally decorated with thousands of marigolds.
Bodhgaya is a small town and everything is within 2km radius from the temple complex including hotels, restaurants, shops ,etc. You can get e-rickshaw for temple hopping. We hired a one for Rs300 for a day.
We started our journey from the famous Mahabodhi temple and Bodhi tree.
The beautiful Mahabodhi Temple complex houses the famous Bodhi tree and the temple.
Bodhi tree is the most famous tree in the world where prince Siddhartha gained his enlightenment and his philosophy spread through Asia and beyond without military crusade. Today people come to pay homage to the Bodhi tree which is the fifth descendant of the original tree. The stupas and shrines were built to show the seven weeks the Buddha spent here. On one side are large carved lotus flowers representing the footsteps of Buddha.
We next went to see the Great Buddha Statue. This is the other most visited place in Bodhgaya. This statue is 64feet high with lord Buddha in a seated meditation pose.

This beautiful Tibetian Monastry is very colourful from inside. The monastery has an image of the future incarnation of Lord Buddha.
Next we went to Daijokyo Buddhist Temple situated next to Great Buddha statute.
After that we went to Karma temple. The temple wall is finely depicted with the paintings of the event of the Buddha’s life.
After that we next went to see Indosan Nippon Japanese Temple. This beautiful temple is made up of wood representing Japanese style architecture. You can find preaching’s of Lord Buddha on the walls of temple.
Next we went to see Royal Bhutan Monastry. It was built by the king of Bhutan as a tribute to Lord Buddha. The monastery features a unique traditional architecture which allures tourists from all over the world.
After that we next went to see the beautiful Thai temple. The temple is adorned with sloping and curved roofs that are covered with golden tiles. There is a beautifully carved gigantic bronze statue of lord Buddha inside the temple.
In the end, we next went to Chinese Temple. This temple displays Chinese architecture style and has been decorated with Chinese designs all over.

This past December, I stopped in Bihar to visit Nalanda, Guru Gobind Singh's birthplace Patna Sahib, and Vaishali the birthplace of Lord Mahavira. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Bodh Gaya, I wish I can go there soon!

I am from punjab. 5 years back in summer holidays we tried to get railway tickets for Hajur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra. But due to heavy rush could not get. Then we tried for Patna Sahib, Bihar. Luckily we got tickets and reached Patna Sahib, Booked a room in Gurdwara Bala Sahib. After paying obiesance there, we had 3 spare days. We spared one day for long journey into Bihar. We visited Bodh gaya and went to lord budha temple and and also bodhi tree. I think we does not visited so many temples as you showed here But we enjoyed very much. We also visited Old Nalanda, and Kundalpur, Birth place of lord Mahavira. I respect all the enlightened souls on earth and they dwell in my heart. Only Thing I regret that does not allowed us to carry our phone and cameras inside the temple. Because it is once in a life incident. Mostly I wanted to take photo of lord budha's statue inside main temple under bodhi tree.

Om Mani Padme Hum! May all beings be happy! Thank you for this wonderful video of the most Holy place in the universe; the sacred site of the Blessed Lord Buddha's enlightenment. It is a great joy to view the beautiful temples and monasteries. Nothing can be more auspicious than a person should go to this most blessed place because it was at Bodh Gaya that a Buddha lived and meditated ! The Blessed Lord destroyed the karmic causes for rebirth and turned the wheel of Dharma that sets sentient beings free from suffering and in a greater sense saved humanity from certain destruction. It was because the Blessed lord chose to incarnate as a human being that the cosmic circumstances that would have destroyed the planet were reversed and humanity was saved from total annihilation. It is similar to a mother who devotes her whole life to feeding and protecting her children with no regard for herself, so the Blessed one did not think of himself as anything special but only as a simple monk who was awakened to suffering,the cause of suffering,the ending of suffering and the path leading to the ending of suffering. Praise,Honor and all Blessings to the world honoured one, teacher of Gods and men. Homage forever ! Om Buddhaya Namah ! MANGALAM !

I still miss bodhgaya,varanasi .... It was so beautiful....... place to pray and roam around now its been 8 years...... I still remember there a famous lassi shop.... Near the monastary...i loved it..... I used to stay....in the khamti monastary....
