How to create a lap book junk journal, A process video prompted by the lovely ladies at Pam's Paper Outpost Facebook group who are so encouraging and asked me to do this tutorial.

I learned something helpful from a video making an envelope folio, score an 1/8 inch beside the natural flap fold to make a little room. I appreciate your video and that you didn’t skip through anything! Thank you.

I love this and you. Nothing pretentious here. You do what is intended and follow through. I have been wanting to make a lapbook but some of the people teaching get on my nerves. Lol I'm not snooty just like getting it done and not a lot of garbage talk during the video. This ones just a great size. Thank you so much

@@RecraftedByCarol Carol when is it we can cover the covers? Lol I dont know if I should put my fabric on right after I get the covers all glued together. Im using old book covers and pieces of spine except for the middle main spine which i will just reinforce with some cardboard and a layer of light muslin fabric to keep it together. I know i should just not get ahead of you and watch the rest fo the videos. And yes some voices drive me absolutely mad. And peoples animals climbing all over their project while they are filming. I love pets. They are great for people....but maybe put them in another room for the video length? Lol ok done venting. Off to complete the videos and yes I'm going to watch all of your videos. You are just wonderful
Aww thank you I hope you figured it out, I try to explain step by step so if you follow the videos you should be fine. Sounds like you are a true junk journaler with the cardboard and old book covers 😊 yes use fabric on the seams it will make it even stronger.

I would respectfully suggest glueing fabric strips over the spines after the tape to preventage taring as it ages...before envelopes and covering papers. Love the wY you have so many "fold outs" Beautiful

I'm trying to make a junk journal of sentimental pieces of "junk" I've collected throughout my life. Pieces that mean something special to certain times in my life and I'm having the hardest time putting it all together. This is wonderful and want to make one like this!

What kind of tape did you use to secure the spines?
Hi and thank you, its just sellotape, you can use fabric tape, I couldn't think of the name on video, I do intend to cover the spines with fabric on the outside for strength.
Great job! Can’t wait to see Part 2 of this. Seeing how the base was constructed really helped. One question though. I am not quite certain why you don’t use DP on the back first covering the tack and the tape Would you mind explaining again.

I absolutely love this. I know I have told you before. I'm watching a second time because I want to make one for a friend, but I'm a bit iffy on measurements. Can you help out with that please.

which measurements do you need help with ? my sizes for the bases were on the video, but this can be adapted to any size you like, the only thing i would make sure of is that your spines are wide enough for all the envelopes and flips you want to add. Please message me and i will give you specifics if you need them xx
@@RecraftedByCarol Was the original spine approximately an inch and a quarter, then making the smaller two about half? Sorry for needing measurements. It's easier for me if I have original to change if I should do so.
Yes mine were , if you are planning to put more ephemera in then just increase the width of each making sure the outside ones the same.
