- Shiva is the Supreme Lord who creates, protects, and transforms the universe.
On this occasion of Mahashivaratri, we are presenting you tandava
in praise of Mahadeva.
Presenting you all the 2 significant stories of Samudra Manthan and the Apasmara Daman and Shiva taking
the ultimate form of the cosmic dancer, The divine NATARAJA.
NEELKANTHA-
Mahashivaratri is a major festival in Hinduism, and this festival is solemn and marks a remembrance of "overcoming darkness and ignorance" in life and the world.
It is believed that on this particular day Lord Shiva gulped the Halahala produced during Samudra Manthan.
Shiva consumed the poison to protect the three worlds and which in the process gave a blue hue to his throat.
In some versions as Lord Shiva drank the poison, he was suffering intense pain, but could not die, as seen by
Parvati, his consort. She immediately places a hand on his throat, stopping the poison to flow any further, and by her, Maya stopped it forever. As a result, his throat turned blue and he was henceforth called Neelakantha.
NATARAJA-
Apasmāra is a dwarf who represents spiritual ignorance and nonsensical speech.
To preserve knowledge in the world,
Apasmāra must be subdued, not killed, as to do so would disturb the necessary balance between spiritual knowledge and ignorance. Killing Apasmāra would symbolize the attainment of knowledge without the (essential) effort, dedication, and hard work involved, and this would lead
to the devaluing of knowledge in all its forms. To subdue Apasmāra, Lord Shiva adopted the form of Śrī Naṭarāja - the Lord of Dance and performed the cosmic dance of Tandava.

Wow, wow, wow. I don't know about Hinduism nevertheless I love it, must of the time I'm listening mantras and music from India. I had a dream a long time ago about Shiva statue nataraja, I look on internet about the meaning of the statue and now watching this video it was like Shiva dancing. Very impressive, Lord Shiva must be very happy watching these ladies doing this interpretation. I love it.
I have no doubt that such beautiful dance manifests only when lord Shiv himself blesses. Beautiful song(couldn’t understand a word except shiv sambhu but who says u need to understand the words to appreciate the song) powerful dance and and so energetic singing.
All names of Shiv sound liberating it feels like just say "Har Har Mahadev" and forget all the pain and sorrows.. We all have Shiv in us somewhere.
