@@BradHuebner1 that may be true but they are now and by leaving my comment here, the hope is that someone will save themselves from doing all of this extra work.
@@blastblast8301 he also had that cool "rocketbook anything frame" that's pretty creative! And the beacons, as far as I have seen, just got em today, they don't have multiple destination icons and you can't send anything automatically, to but one place with beacons still. If you can, as I just got these lil things today, please say otherwise!
@@Deacyde Also, I imagine the beacons are mostly designed for larger frames, not US Letter/A4 type areas. It seems easier to drop a pre-made 4-sided frame over a piece of paper than position 4 independent beacons at the corners. Do you agree? I'm just trying to imagine it.
This is such great tips! I took ur mini rocket window idea and did a spin on it. I cut the template page and taped it to the outside of a binder with slide in cover. Then my kids can slide in hand written sheets in the cover, and scan it. I covered the tokens, boarder, and QR code with clear shipping tape.
Dang!! I am honestly BEYOND IMPRESSED.....So happy I clicked on the video. You had me at the edge of my seat lol. I loved it every time you stepped out of the frame and kept coming back with insanely cool ideas....GREAT JOB!!!!
This is a great example of teachers teaching more than the lesson. You are teaching a way of seeing things organically. Thanks for sharing and good luck in your teaching career!
You are answer to prayer! I wanted several Rocketbooks, but I am disabled, and therefore bedridden most of the time. So I write alot, but am limited to pencils and space pens - - anything that can successfully write at any angle. The Rocketbook and other smart notebooks all use Frixion, which is not conducive to just any angle. In my optimism, I downloaded the app and set up all my little icons anyway, in the hope that I'd somehow make it work. Your method just made my space pen fall in love with the Rocketbook app, and put me back into production again! Thank you and bless you!!
This was full of great ideas for making the rocketbook work for various needs! You inspired me to make a blown up version of the bottom section so that it is 8.5" long, printed on heavy card stock, cut and covered with packing tape, then adhered to a thick 9x12 black foam board with a hot glue gun so that office meeting notes in my rocketbook can be bundled with any supplemental printouts simply by placing those on top of the foam and scanning. This way the notes and support materials are all together in the same PDF!
dude I would so buy you a coffee and maybe even lunch right now. I am a "guest" teacher who teaches healthy relationships in several counties. I never comment on TH-cam videos, but I happen to think the Rocketbook is genius and will be using Rocketbooks in my science classrooms this year. The ideas you shared in this video are fantastic. Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!
I have confidence in the future of our world knowing there are teachers like you teaching our kids. Love your ingenuity!!! This makes me think students could even use "##student-name##" or "##project-name##" to send you there work for ease of finding of assignments. You've given me so many ideas for my own work flow in IT. Keep crushing it, brother! Thanks for doing the work of educating our kids.
Super smart idea to build a border to scan regular documents, THANK YOU! I'm trying to teach my parents to use rocketbook pages instead of a scanner and that has saved me so much work! The applications for students are really apparent as well, both in the present and in physical classrooms.
Because of this video I am now looking at ways to incorporate this into our small warehouse. We still use a lot of paper forms and can't really justify investing in a whole new system, particularly because we are non-profit. I plan on creating my own template to use with laminated sheets so I can file forms digitally and then reuse the forms. Can't wait to try it out!
Have you considered projecting a frame from either a video projector or an old-school overhead projector? This way you could also adjust the size of what you want to scan/digitize.
Thank you! Mine arrives tomorrow. I am a note taker. I have notebooks on any subject I want to learn or study. And I can never find what I am looking for when I need it. Rocketbook will be the solution to all my future notetaking. But I was going to take pictures of all my binders and notebooks and incorporate them into the same places in cloud services that I will add my future Rocketbook notes. Now I can make the border and bottom icons and start scanning them with Rocketbook too! Yay!
Late to the party, but kudos to you man! This is BRILLIANT! You’ve inspired me to see if I can’t do this on non-square areas - such as the length of a full white board. I’m going to also check out those “beacons”. Kudos to you man!!
I was just thinking I have hand written journals I’ve written for over 30 years, and documents I could make a Rocket Book templet for and copy my journals and put them all on the cloud, even move some off the preparatory cloud programs and into my dropbox... The possibilities endless thank you, thank you, thank you, what a talented young man you are, more! more! more! please!
Outstanding! Your hacks are the best I've seen yet on TH-cam! You should start a blog and then include its URL in the description or the video. Would you consider selling these hacks? I love the one that allows you to digitize already existing notebook pages or even documents (e.g. rental agreements, leases, etc). You have an outstanding real world example of: Necessity is the Mother of Invention! You had an educational necessity and you invented something so great many other professions could use it. I could see lawyers, architects, etc using your foam boards daily. If you don't want to make and sell them, please, do a video on step by stop making them with specific items that make them up.
I was thinking of doing this to the worksheets my professors hand out to me. Seen you actually do it only gave me more ideas of how I can do it. Thanks!!
Wow, such awesome suggestions! And kudos to you as a teacher to show your students how to be organized. This is something that they will carry with them forever.
Very helpful. I can tell you're a great teacher. I use some of these hacks with a spiral-bound whiteboard notebook (Nu Board is an example) for uploading work. It's also possible to just cover the corners of each page of the notebook with orange electrical tape and the Rocketbook App will treat them like Rocketbook Beacons.
Thanks to your video I just discovered that drawing a black frame enhances drastically the process on any scanning app. So, I just write on any surface, draw a black frame, scan it with my smartphone, and I can send it or save it anywhere. Thanks!
I like your window! I just made a mini one myself and then decided to google to see if anyone had better ways to do it and found this. They have a new rocketboard product coming -- restickable corner markers you can put on any whiteboard. It's in the kickstarter phase now!
