Which version of Anti-mage is your favorite (Eul, Guinsoo-era, Allstars-era, Magebane, Kassadin, Nightshade, HotS) and why?

Pre-nerf Magebane looks pretty interesting, but I've never played HoN.

The biggest thing Dota 1 AM had over current Dota 2 AM was the run animation. The Demon Hunter's run animation just looked so smooth.
Not to mention his blink animation. The cast point was MUCH quicker and took about a split second.
@@doms7373 Wouldn't you say that's a good thing that it is slower though?
Antimage as is is pretty slippery with his spellshield n stuff, giving him an even faster blink would not be a good change in my opinion.
I know that am right is kinda on the poopy side but still.
I dunno. Might be dota 1 bias? I think that dota 1 animations have really not aged well at all and they look veeery clunky and choppy.
I can see the appeal though, dota 1 am had a lot more determination in his walk cycle which would fit his personality.
Then again hasted am dota 2 does the naruto run.
DotA 1 is superior to DotA 2 in many ways

That happends when you abandon your e-sports and release a new champion once every 4-6 months
HotS is arguably more fun than Dota, but more simplistic than even LoL

I like how he mentions interpretations in other games. Dota is the ancestor of the genre anyway and its interresting to see what other games do with AM(or the concept).

Listening to the description of his spells makes you realise more that AM is seriously broken
The name's Dan, Illi Dan.
Illidan was a lot cooler during the 2016 Heroes of the Dorm tournament era of Heroes of the Storm and his prevalence there is pretty much the reason he kinda sucks now.
Illidan in Heroes functions much more as a duelist who excels against auto attack centric heroes and using his massive amount of mobility to clean up decided fights but in 2016 he was pretty much an unkillable carry that with proper support from his team, most notably Rehgar and Abathur who almost perfectly synergized with Illidan enabled him to pretty much walk into an enemy team, get supported by these 2 heroes and clean up fights.

@@hujanmeteor I mean, to be fair, Abathur kind of inherently makes any overtuned character like 3 times worse by his very nature. His entire gimmick is supercharging someone and giving them a shield, so if they're already hard to kill and do a bit too much damage they just get pushed way over the top to unreasonable levels. It's like whenever Gyro gets slightly overtuned in Dota and Io turns him into an absolute monster that can annihilate an entire team in seconds with super fast Flak Shots.

15:00 I agree. I'd like to see some sort of interaction with spell casting speed in dota 2. A possible iteration would be a Void scepter rework, skill2 slows down enemy spell casting speed while increasing ally spellcasting

@@dankpepe2110 I just meant it as a possible iteration. It could be on a completely new hero with completely new mechanics. I meant as an example on void because he's the one who controls time ATM

I miss how players used to refer to heroes by their real name in DOTA 1. Jah'rakal was pretty fun to say.
I never played OG dota, but everyone who taught me dota 2 did, so i refer to alot of things by their old names, but don't know why they are their old names, and confuse people on comms from time to time.
I still call some heroes by their old dota names just out of sheer habit.

I mean there's stuff like Bloodseeker's name, some name are too mouthfull so people tend to use their titles instead

If only HoN have the same marketing and administration of dota or even league then it may have been successful. I actually prefer HoN's faster and aggressive gameplay.

Elder Parasite+Brutalizer was pretty combo at picking someone
I'd argue that Illidan is actually quite like the Anti-Mage in a way. Illidan's Q is a leap not a blink, but both abilities take you from point A to point B quickly and Illidan's evasion negates physical damage like spell shield negates spells. It's a bit of a stretch, but Illidan's W is in a way like Mana Break, because both increase your attack damage.

i remember him the most annoying hero in the game , not only he has the Wind Walk and the move speed while invis... but he has (i guess on purpose ) the smallest hit box ..it was impossible to click on this shit. I remember being Vengeful and there was 1 guy who was so good at dota back in the days...he was trolling me with that gondar with some next level Jukes ...i got so mad...it was literally impossible to cast a target spell. :D

as far as i remember ,in dota 2 'when manavoid kills the enemy', increase the cooldown ultimate to a targeted enemy .but they remove it because its too OP..
cooldown increase is kinda OP in dota 2 if you think about it..haha

I think the major reason why I stuck with League over dota is the Ability power stat, fiddling with the worldeditor I always strived to avoid creating abilities with "Static" damage values (ex. 100/150/200 damage)
