I remember waking up very early to go play the SNES and there was a note on the SNES which was still turned on saying "DO NOT SHUT OFF THE SNES!" and it was PGA tour and my Uncle and Dad were in the middle of a big match LOL and sleeping downstairs hahaha
PGA Tour was released back when EA still had a soul, and it shows. It's a really high quality game that offered some really cool innovations, even as a port of a (then) two-year-old PC game.
My first PGA Golf Game :) Great memories! Later then the PS1 Golf Games and the Tiger Woods Golf Games, was great too, but this one, is my first one :) Greetings form a Fan form germany ^^
1:14, "Hello, friends, and welcome to the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Verda, Florida for LIVE final round coverage of The Players Championship. I'm Jim Nantz along with Nick Faldo, and we'll be working alongside Peter Kostis, Ian Baker-Finch and John Daly."
27:11, "And there it is! Rory McIlroy has won The Players Championship! That's gonna do it for us, so for all of us at CBS Sports, this is Jim Nantz saying so long from Sawgrass in Ponte Verda, Florida!"
0:14-0:38, "CBS Sports presents the PGA Tour! Today, LIVE from Sawgrass in Ponte Verda, Florida, it's final round coverage of The Players Championship!"
As much as I don't care for sports games, I will admit, EA's 16 bit releases for the genre had awesome sound in them, and whenever I was over at a friend or relative's house who had one, I would play them just to hear the sounds and music.
I got this thinking it would be as good as the Megadrive version, but it really lost a lot of the feel and atmosphere. The fact you didn't see yourself hitting the ball and you fly up with it was really annoying. All those hole fly bys at the start I was desperate to turn off. Also where was the nice club shop screen? So whilst its good enough, I was a bit disappointed with it.
This version on the SNES was absolutely panned when it was reviewed in CVG at the time. They thought that it was far worse than the Mega Drive & Amiga versions. I probably still have the magazine here somewhere.

This golf game holds up well after all these years. Still my favorite golf video game (that and Hot Shots Golf).
Love hot shots golf
hey, what about Neo Turf Masters !? 😜

And now EA is just consuming souls...
This is classic. I used to sit with my dad when I was like 3 or 4 and we'd play this.
Same. My Dad just passed, that's why i'm here
I used to play this all the time with my dad when I was a kid as well. :)
I used to play this with my late Dad as well, on the Mega Drive. I recently bought it again off of a retro group on Facebook, for sentimental reasons.
As we getting older, We still have that great memories that never dies. Do you all still have this game?
I still play this today! One of the best ever made! 👍

I remember playing a lot of PGA Tour II on the Genesis back when I was a kid - that main theme is like it's burned into my memory~

I Miss the early 90s
I wish I was born in the early 90s.

You mean Shooter McGavin
Seriously, the most challenging/still playable golf game I know of. (barely playable but passing)
Nice eagle on hole 14
Played this to death in 1992 or 1993. Loved using the reset cheat!
Greatest opening music score in video game history
Agreed.
I loved playing this one in my snes. Great golf game for console 😍
The mode7 flyby create a sense of great gimmick during its days.

Dana Long NBC covers the Players Championship and has for decades.

Remember playing this as a kid thinking it was cutting edge graphics 😀

21:24 for an outstanding eagle

I'm here for the intro music but you all have fantastic points i agree with everyone
Hey! Electronic arts did a good job with this game!
Awesome game
The Super Nintendo Version is different from the Sega Genesis version
ha, scrolling past, the thumbnail looks like Marge Simpson golfing
Ben Wolfram That comment cracked me up, it totally does. I would've never noticed, but now I can't unsee it!
Just thought that I'd stop in to say that now, two years later, I still see Marge's hairdo when I see that thumbnail. Cheers! :D
It's just the water

Looks like he hit the tree, Jim
+Rob West No doubt about it, that's deep in the sand.
Did anyone else just aim all the way left and slice it into the middle of the fairway by leaving the last hit point
Cool
simple times
Its a 80s verson of Tiger Wood Golf game accept its not by EA sport.
This was the worst first person shooter I ever played in my life.
Another reason why the Genesis was better than the SNES (not by much though).
