    Your video was tremendously helpful as my podiatrist gave me minimal aftercare instructions. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for posting this vid. The post-op instructions I received after getting my procedure done were a little confusing and bc I'm more of a visual learner, this has been incredibly helpful. Such a godsend 🥰!! You are awesome 🤗!!

      @chrisrocco6429 nah its painful as hell😭 I came back 2 days post op. I didn't clean it bc she said she'll clean it herself. The blood on the gauze dried and it kind of stuck to my skin then she just ripped it off. She didn't even wet it.

    I just had a nail avulsion on both big toes. Both nails were removed. I was not prescribed that antibiotic ointment. Can I buy that over the counter?

    • @BMarie774
      @BMarie774 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vi Moon My podiatrist told me not to use antibiotic ointment because you want and need the nail bed to callus. If not, you’re at risk of getting an infection if the bone in your toe as toenails are what mostly protect that bone at the tip of your toe. As long as you were on antibiotics and do all rinsing and cleansing, you should be fine.

      @@santosreyna8917 Don't use the gauze after the first day - just a bandaid. I do not scrub the toe clean with a toothbrush for a week. It will not look clean and will have darkened blood on the middle of the toe. It needs to scab up or blood will just increase and delay healing Just make sure that the darkened area does not spread to your foot with pain. An ugly mesh-like will form that is not to worry about as long as things toward the base of the toenail are skin-colored. That gets scrubbed off the eighth day and will be looking clean after a few more days. Take all the antibiotics.
      I had my right toenail pulled two years ago and it looks perfect today. Most of all, do not wait for the pain to become big before taking Tylenol. Always take two just as the pain begins its threshold. Painkillers work best on a small hill, not a mountaintop.

      I am currently doing my own care...I don't wear gloves. I just wash my hands, and that's all I feel is necessary. Even my daughter, who is a nurse, changed the bandage once for me and that's all she did was wash her hands. The antibiotic ointment is all I felt like I needed.
