I am an Englishman who has enjoyed the privilege of visiting the beautiful State of Arizona on a number of occasions. I have admired the unmistakable profile of Picacho Peak from the car on I10 when driving into Tucson or further south, and even from as far away as South Mountain Park in Phoenix from where it is visible on a clear day. Thanks for posting this video of the summit. It looks like an interesting hike to the top.
@@olentangy74 oh I see, they probably did indeed change the rules over time. Probably because of fools getting stuck on the back end of the saddle coming back from the top
Very nicely done. Got to love Arizona. Some day I’ll just have to fly that area and I’m sure you would enjoy my home area of the Superstitions in Gold Canyon.
Great video. I will research this hike - surprised that the trail goes all the way to the top. That makes for some serious elevation gained in that hike.
I did this hike but after looking at the drone video I cant believe I did this hike !!! I cant believe how high it was and our miniscule size at the peak. Amazing hike, amazing video and amazing experience, oh yeah and it was fun too!!
Hi Cvedeler. This video is just perfect and I want ask you if is possible to add some short sequences to my own video from picacho peak . I Am asking for permission to use your video PLEASE. You will be mentioned as a SOURCE of this video. Video sequences - 0:20 - 0:48, 0:58 - 1:20 Thank You
Hi J Spacaj. That would be fine as long as you give me credit for the parts of the video that are mine. I'd love to see what you have done. Please post a link. Thanks for asking!

Great video. Do you live in the area a frequent there often? I took my DJI Inspire up there in October, but lost signal. I didn't have time to look for it since I was flying out that day. Been trying to find a local who might be adventurous enough to go poking around.
Lost the Inspire all together. I was flying around the backside (opposite of freeway side) and the signal cut out, never came back, and never did a return to home. I'm sure the drone itself is shot, so I'm not entirely interested the recover of the drone itself, but the memory card would be an awesome miracle. Got some footage the day before at Superstition that would be great to have. If you are ever up there again let me know and I can send you some details. I live in the Bay Area of California. I was out here visiting my grandparents. Would have spent longer looking but we had to catch a plane home. Sorry to hijack your comment. Video is nicely put together and you got some good shots. Lots of drone enthusiasts don't really take the time to put together a nice edit so it's nice when you come across one who does. Gonna go check out your other videos...
How much information do you have? Do you have the last GPS coordinates and the log file from the controller? Do you have the home location and remember the return to home altitude? If you have enough info it shouldn't be that hard to locate... That is unless it is up on a cliff someplace.
Awesome footage! I was wondering how didn't you lost signal while orbiting the peak so high in the sky🤔 and at the end I figured it out... Of course, you were flying your drone from the top of the peak...👍👍👍 Well done!... Thumbs up from Douglas, Arizona 👍👍👍👍🇵🇷
True it is a state park and it is not legal to fly it in a state park. I bet with permission you could, but i don't think they would give you the ok. Fines and the loss of your drone could be imposed if caught. This is a nice video so to each there own.....wtg

I got here beacuse many people walk 6 to max 15 days to get here. They say they need to do this have the Americans dream? And many many have lots their lives here and it’s sad. Just finished watching a documentary about it and I wanted to see this and it’s sad that people have to cross the desert.
It's everyone's responsibility to know the regulations and state rules. They want proof of insurance for a reason and you should be purchasing it when you fly anyway. What happens if you do lose loss of signal and your drone drops on someone and hurts them seriously? Looking the other way won't be an option then.
why does it matter? people are waving at it because they have never seen a beautiful drone before, wake up to the millennial time, enough with the privacy crap, we like cinematic shots
Thanks for the feedback. It is a bit of a design flaw of the Phantom 3 to get the propellers in the way with some maneuvers. That is one difference between the Inspire and the Phantom.

I climbed Picacho under a full moon, and it was a spectacular. This video reminds me of just how majestic Picacho is.
Didn’t the park security bother you? Pretty sure the sign says can’t hike it at night
@@notafortnitegamer This was 30 years ago, and it was a popular thing to do then. Maybe they’ve changed the rules since then.

There is also a Picacho Peak in California, just across the Colorado River from Yuma. Also a wonderful place with a lot of camping & hiking.

Who in the world built the trails up there?
iv climbed there. but this video is priceless

How high is the peak? I might go try this out with my Mavic.

You lost your Inspire on the mountain or just lost signal? I live in Scottsdale, about an hour away.

Thanks! I actually was about a mile away when it did the orbit. I programmed a 500 meter radius orbit around the summit and let it do it's thing.

Went to school there in the late 70s early 80s

I asked and they wanted a 2 million insurance coverage so I passed.
I asked permission when I entered the park.

Flying directly over people, a no no.

nothing to do with privacy, flying drones directly over persons is reckless and stupid.
