We, as a family lived in Apache Junction, 1961-62. There was nothing at the junction, except for a sign that was a flat board on a post that read, Apache Junction. That’s all there was. All of the houses and buildings were not there, at the Junction and the landscape shown from the drone. We lived in an old army outpost building that was heavily beamed, built sometime in the 1870’s. My brother and I, hiked up to the Flat Iron when the weather was good many times. There were dirt roads with names. We lived on Sagebrush Rd. There was no golf course, no stores, no city council, no city, no police, other than the Sheriff and his deputies. The desert smelled good in the mornings. We moved to Mesa, then sometime later, we moved to Phoenix at 12th St. and Maryland when there was a grape orchard and a grapefruit orchard. We lived in an old adobe house that was stuccoed on the outside. We used a swamp cooler, (not good during the Monsoon period). Sometimes at night during the hottest time, the temperature would remain at 100 till around 0100 0230. Then, it would cool down. In Apache Junction, we never experienced that, as in the surrounding desert closer to the foothills of the surrounding mountains of the Phoenix area, it can get cold in the night during that same period. It was a good time, all was well in Apache Junction. Good work on your video, Brad……. Faron.
Just incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking footage. This is the best that photography, including drone photography, can offer. The scenery is hard to believe. Thank you for this stunning video.
One of the best videos of flatiron! I camped there, all alone, years ago and was the only person on flatiron all that night. That was a wonderful experience to remember! 🙂
Thank you for a very clear and beautiful video.. My father in law and his 3 sons and 1 son in law has been hiking up those mountains for 50 years. Dad has been an avid fan to find the long Dutchman mine. . My husband just found your video tonight. He's always told me of their hard trek to this mountain. Until I saw your beautiful and clear video, did I really appreciate all the hard work that went into their travel to accompany their father. It certainly brought back a lot of memories for my husband. We sent your link of this footage to my husband's brother and brother in law. Thank you for sharing.
A very lovely video. I've saved it to my large Arizona playlist, to the Superstition Mountains section, to share it with others. Thanks for posting it. Excellent photography, smooth handling of the camera, editing and music. :)
It's Mindblowing to think that all that was molten rock at one point. Each layer is actually a seperate flow, some being hundreds of feet thick. It's hard to fathom that much lava pouring out of cracks. Amazing geology.
Hiked up to flat Iron today! It was my first real hike of this caliber, 3000 ft elevation and worth every step. You should meet an 82 year old man who has already climbed it 60 times this season. If you go during the snowbird nesting time, you should feel quite encouraged by the amount of 50+ year olds making the trek. I highly recommend this hike to anyone with the will to do it!!!! I took a ton of pictures because it was so beautiful. Rubbery breathable thin gloves would be good to take.
Not for the faint of heart! 8.7 miles for me total, about 6 hours. I’m surprised how crowded it was! So many badasses getting after it of all ages and athletic abilities.
Incredible video of my favorite mountain to climb. I’ve never seen it like this before. That fly up the south face was really unique. Usually you get the view from the west as the typical shots of the Sups.
WOW!!!! This is such a cool viewpoint! Nice editing too. I just hiked flatiron this morning. It was challenging but worth it. The superstitions are so majestic and grand to look at, especially this western side. These cliff faces are HUGE up close. This video gives great perspective to what I saw on the ground today. Thanks for sharing :)
bob-are you sure? you know this how? got proof? didn't think so, so you only have a conspiracy theory backing you? weak minds resort to kneejerk judgements
bob- 1. I never claimed it was a tree stump, that would be stupid because I don't know 2. why would I need to explain anything, esp to you 3. only the brain dead claim to "know" anything as fact 4. Try thinking outside your closed world-view box, you may be surprised how much more is out there . 6. enjoy the unknown
Awesome 🌵💚👍 I’m over in Gold Canyon. I always stop at Siphon Draw because of my fear of heights. Your drone footage confirmed I’m not going any higher! 🤣🌵💚☀️🔥
Cool video, I lived in Tempe an hiked up there in 1982. There was an old air force jet from the 60's splattered all over. It was an interesting place for sure. Airplanes (jets) coming into Sky Harbor airport were lower than we were.
BOB.org I thinks it’s beautiful too but that’s probably because of my bias since I grew up here. It definitely is one of the most diverse states and it has a lot of natural beauty that is known world wide.
Mr C Having lived in 3 different states and visited most others including Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Arkansas, Florida, California.. I will say that Arizona has something special to offer that no where else has. I’m not sure I could say it’s the most beautiful, but it is the most enchanting.
Nice Brad. I've flown this mission a few times, always a new adventure. Your angles are great, I liked the shot at the top of the flat iron best, epic.
I never comment but must right now. I’ve watched everything on Superstition Mountains, incredible place…Great American History This footage really puts reality in your head that the Lost Dutchman Mine will not be found… EVER
most of these rocks were still underneath surface earth upon resurgence. all the unique paths of least resistance that the liquid rock pushed its way into are now exposed by water/wind erosion to reveal their other-worldly profiles. There is one spot about 1/3rd the way up where it looks like molten rock reached the surface and was shaped by gravity and its own viscosity. awesome contemplations
I can see why those vastly unprepared for these mountains die.. nor did I think it so vast... a gentleman who did a7-day hike solo has a shot at one point, and the mountains kept going and going.. I was stunned. Beautiful place... but, they get the name for a reason. Beautifully video - thank you for sharing 1:33 point is breath-taking...
Hiked up this with my brother from his home at the foot of Siphon Draw Trail in 2011. BRUTAL but worth it! Btw, we went in January! Don't be stupid and try this one in the heat of summer.
Hi there, I was very impressed with your video. I’m in the initial phase of my fantastic idea for celebrating my 50th in early 2021. I’ve recently got the bug for hiking / trekking and have already done Mount Snowdon, however for my 50th I wish to take on the absolutely amazing Annapurna Circuit Trek in Nepal. I’m certainly not a professional photographer but I have the utmost respect for superb quality photos and an inner passion for landscape photography. I am therefore looking to find a semi professional photographer, a HD Drone / Cameraman and keen hikers to join me at the end of Feb 2021 in Katmandu, Nepal. Approximately 21 days expedition covering the 100km+ Trek in The Himalayas. I’m looking for a passionate photographer looking to explore their passion in an amazing country with one of the best landscapes on this planet. Would you be interested? If not do you know any friends of yours who might find this amazing journey to good to turn away from. Please let me know, cheers.
There's another version of this which points out some locations of interest, such as four peaks. Perhaps this is the same one but edited, I can't say. I wish I could find the other one. This one is great, but it is nice to see the points of interest in the distance. If anyone knows which one I am referring to, please post a link. The other video has the music, Until the Last Moment by Yanni.
It would be nice if you followed the trail..at 57yo I had to stop at base..I knew I could up but knew I wouldn't be able to get down without help...and when there's no one around..I had to receed
Which music is this from? Also - I have a perfect view of Flat Iron from my home. Great to sit and watch the sunrise but more impressive is to watch the mountain turn bright red, the dark red then purple at sunset. GREAT VIDEO - MASTERPIECE.
May I use clips of your video to inspire my potential health and wellness clients. I hiked Flatiron in 2021. I wish that I could show you my pictures. Great drone footage. I'm a licensed pilot as well. 🙌🏾
This is mind-blowing and the soundtrack is beyond belief. GREAT EFFECT. I just got one of these video drones at COSTCO for my 13-year-old grandson - he's always tops 1% in his national testing. So, I'm sure he'll put it to good use. Also a concert pianist - hoping he doesn't use the STAR WARS theme - need something more unique like this soundtrack. And keep it away from water!!!
Brad incredible shots! You are quite the drone master. I wish I could of rode this drone to the top! I went ahead and liked and subscribed! I would love if you returned the favor. If not no big at all. I look forward to many more drone shots.
Thanks JT! I'm not sure about "drone master"--more like "guy who loves drones when he's not doing his day job. This is an epic view of this wonderful place. Thank you for this amazing perspective. Flatiron!!!!❤💪🙏🙌
Dang I love these shots! Such a different view of the Superstitions.
This is terrific! It really shows how Superstition Mountain is laid out for those who've never been up to Flat Iron.
and for those who HAVE been up flatiron :)
Having just hiked and camped up there with my son, I can really appreciate this video! Great views you were able to capture! Thanks for sharing!
wow,stunning.
It would be a very, very cool experience to camp up there. You have the whole PHX valley below and the stars up above.
Sweet!! Do ya know of a website with current an accurate camping info for the hiking/camping? Thank you un advance. 🤜🤛⛰
Just incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking footage. This is the best that photography, including drone photography, can offer. The scenery is hard to believe. Thank you for this stunning video.

Were you on flatiron or did you take the ridge trail more SE?
Beautiful.... I been learning about this place . Mahalo for the great footage from above.... aloha
Thanks Brad, with that music score, very inspiring.
Hiked it over 40 times, another 10 to the peak and thank you for showing it from such perspective.
Did you ever find any of the missing people?
Past life connection?
Anything out of the ordinary that you remember?
Hahahhaha damn ^ these questions be curious af 😂 cute
How much further is it to the peak?

Wonderful rock formations and a great flight. Thank U for sharing.🤩

Beautifully done! I Love ❤️ this mountain range so much! I have flown my wingsuit and parachute from many exits. Thanks for sharing this edit:)
absolutely beautiful! I'm sharing this link to my friends on facebook!

Would LOVE to be looking at those mountains about now in person! Thanks so much for the awesome footage. Amazing!
Breathtaking! Wow! Thank you for this footage. I love seeing scenery in places I know I’ll never see in person. Oh,that was fun.
Thank you for sharing this interesting place.
Sick footage. Reminded me of the Hallelujah floating mountains in Avatar.
I'm just learning to fly a drone...mavic air 2...granny w a drone...love it
I am fortunate to be living in Gold Canyon and can go out and look at the flat iron . Love Arizona
Awesome video Brad. You really captured the “feeling” of the Flat Iron. Super Job. Ever this way again I’d love to fly with you 👍🏼
Desert 107 UAV sounds fun!! I’m in Mesa.

Well done. You could spend years hiking there and still not have a mental picture like that. Very smooth, very professional.
WOW! First of your posts I've seen. Not familiar with this area at all. Love the footage! Superior job and thanks for posting -from Colorado!
I think I saw the lost Dutchman mine

looks like a giant tree stump

Arizona is probably the countries most beautiful state.
Its too hot here but it is pretty to look at

@Help Me Get 100 Subscribers Idaho has some pretty awesome scenery.
Moving to Arizona from Texas. Can’t wait to explore these beautiful sceneries.
This place is extremely dangerous and not to be taken lightly. Study and train for it or you will pay for your own rescue 💵
Awesome video I'll probably never get to the top of my feet...... but thank you now I've been there
I appreciate this video. My family has lived in east Mesa/Apache Junction area since the 1940s. Very beautiful!

contemplating the forces of nature that caused that rock to extrude so sharply from the earths natural plane is mind boggling

Brad Denton Thank you. That was teriffic! & Music score 👌

I Love you superstition Mountain ❤️!
It's a giant prehistoric tree trunk.
Weathered away over time.
Now the real question.
Where is the tree?

That is definitely the remnants of an ancient giant tree forest.

beautiful country, never realized urban sprawl had gotten so close
