This episode gave me an idea for a D&D character who is utterly nonchalant about being in mortal danger, because he's used to it after growing up in Whitestone.
THAT episode of campaign 3 was rough, but then made worse later by the news about Sam's battle with cancer. Paula, you've got to catch up on campaign three! They've had so many great moments the last few weeks!
Love the reaction and commentary. This episode leads so smoothly into the brutal 2nd half of the season. looking forward to your reaction for the remaining 6
Think of it this way: The DM only rolled a 19. He didn't roll a crit. Could have been worse. But really, this is a 19 worthy episode. We got a great song, the bathtub scene, and an emotional second act.
It's funny and interesting to see what makes the cut for the show. What was in the game vs what gets told in the animated story. How they alter some of what happened in the game for sake of pacing and/or logistics. While I would have LOVED to have seen the animated series version of the famous Target Practice scene that happened in Scanlan's mansion (IYKYK), I understand why they left it out. The whole series has been great and I look forward to The Meighty Nein and Bell's Hells being animated. PS Would LOOOOOOVE a Candela Obscura animated anthology.
As someone who has watched live since episode 18 of campaign 1, campaign 3 has been my favorite. This is the first team where I have clicked with every single character from episode 1. And the moment you're thinking of came later in the campaign. Episode 85 to be specific. Though to be fair, they have made so many changes to this season.
0:14 rolling a 19 for that bathtub! 1:53 Another Scanlan banger worthy of having a golden record on those walls! 2:22 Just wait for the next scene! 2:35 honestly, that reaction from Kat should be a Nat 20! I am so happy to see other Critters know what is coming! 15:57 Imagine having known the character for years at this point! when your reaction only seeing that moment! 18:18 I was a mess after these upcoming 3 episodes... I could not function for a week until the conclusion came.
3:32 I was slightly disappointed with this scene. In the campaign Vex was way more dramatic when she came out of the water which is what made it so funny. Here she was more cool and nonchalant about it. But I’m still glad they included it. Great episode though. The Scanlan song in the beginning was great. Enjoyed your reaction as usual.
I love this reaction, but I wish they were a little more careful with spoilers. Even the oblique ones. Not everyone is caught up with all campaigns/ are planning to watch through the show alone. I get my spoilers from friends in the same way Kat does, but it feels impolite to include them in a reaction.
You should stop watching these reactions, then. Some reactors are new to the show, some of them have seen campaign 1, some of them have seen all 3. Watching them provides different insights. If you don't like watching reactions from people who have seen the campaigns, then don't watch them. And most certainly never comment on them.
This episode was written by Liam O'Brien, by the way.
But just wait until you see who wrote 307.

The bathtub scene in the Live show was and still is my favorite scene in all of Critical Role. Great reactions !

9:13 The de Rolos are squishy.

15:47 Yeah, that moment with FCG is GUTWRENCHING!
And with Sam prepping for surgery while that was happening, just… ugh! 😭😭😭
0:57 Knowing what’s coming, that 22 is accurate. 😊
For the first half, at least. 😬
It is very difficult for anything made of wood to burn in a hurricane.
Also, a lot of kink!
Have you seen the Narrative Telephone with Luis?
Out of curiosity have either of the watched X-Men '97, if not are you thinking of watching and reacting to it.

It pisses me off that they're being this stupid about Raishan.
