My grandpa grew up in Mexico, and he also has forgotten mostly everything he knows, yet he still tells the story about when he was in high school, he snuck out to hang out with his friends. On his way home, he had to walk down a long railroad track. His friends weren't with him anymore, so when he heard them laughing and talking behind him, he was a little scared. When he turned around, he said that down the trail was La llarona. He said she was beautiful until he got closer to her, and she looked up at him and was pail and sick, looking. He ran home without looking back and never saw her again. He has yet to change or forget that story from over 60 years ago.....

One of my favourite horror movie scares of all time was in Annabelle Creation. It was the scene when the two girls were playing in Annabelle's room at night, and accidentally hit the doll's face while the doll was sitting on the bed, causing its head to be turned slightly. Then, between cuts, the girls notice that Annabelle had turned her head back towards them. There was no loud music cues or dramatic score, no "oh my God did you see that", and no frills. Just a doll head-turning slightly off-screen 👍
My favorite was the scene where the girl hides under the stairs and you can see two eyes right before the doll gets snatched. Nobody says anything about it, no attention is drawn to it, you can just make out two eyes and THEN the jumpscare. It’s amazing

The point in time where the demon 'vomits' into the characters mouth isn't 'vomit' its the exact moment of possession. The nasty evil has been forcefully placed inside the character. They no longer have control. That's why in the first Conjuring film you knew the battle was won when she vomits into the ground. The evil had been removed from her body. Not gonna lie I'm enjoying this video.
I like that in Annabelle Comes Home it unlocked every monster in the artifact room, I just can't imagine being as traumatized while being hunted down by every type of evil supernatural being imaginable.
I think the best scene in the history of horror movies is that when Lorrain and Vallak officially "introduce" themselves to each other. Well, specifically Lorrain's line "Your name gives me dominion over you, demon. And I do know your name! You are Vallak!". There's something so magnificent about it. I think it's the first time when someone who is not a priest is in direct confrontation with a demon so fiercely.
The nun/nun 2 had the potential to be similar, especially since SPOILER it is implied that the nun is a descendant of Saint Lucia, and she is now kinda known across Europe as the nun who defeated valak. It could be this "ah yes my old enemy" feeling. Nun 2 had so much potential but all the scenes fall flat because there's no build up of sinister events followed by the nun being called on the scene and then no consequent figuring out of valak's objective and backstory. one second everyone is calmly living life, the next Maurice is full blown possessed
@@anushkaverma2203 I know! That's exactly how I feel. It's like they invested so much in the marketing for this movie and it just didn't get up to thr expectations. I think it was an expected outcome though since they've changed the director.

Yep its connected. That is why the demon was hunting Lorraine because as was said in the nun 2, st. Lucy's bloodline was hunted by the demon due to the eyes.

Great video! The first Conjuring movie and the second Annabelle movie are my absolute favorites. Of course not all movies were as good, but I think it's really cool to see a horror cinematic universe
The scariest part of the Conjuring Universe is learning about the real Ed and Lorraine Warren, they're ironically much more similar to the demons they fight in the movies than their versions portraited in it
Your appreciation for The Conjuring universe makes me happy... this was a joy to watch... this movie franchise is one of my favourites. Happy to subscribe to your channel.
I know alot or most will disagree but I feel like from a real-world standpoint that the actual Annabelle doll was scarier than the one used in the films. The one they used already looked terrifying when it was originally made, like they meant for it to be unsettling. That kind of thing is something I'd keep my eyes on if some seriously unexplainable crap went down since its got 'permanent terrifying schemer' face. You could spot that friggin horror show out of a thousand other dolls. Essentially the cinematic Annabelle is getting profiled since she just looks the part, all blame roads end with her. The original doll however, is one that you could throw in a pile of other dolls and not think anything of it. That blank face, innocent smile, and unassuming posture isn't terrifying you because it hasn't done anything yet to warrant fear. Annabelle from the movie was a custom job that has few copies, while the raggedy ann doll is mass-produced. She's tiny, physically unimposing, created from flimsy materials, sporting a very non-threatening look and blindly pleasant designed demeanor. She's the kind of doll parents would place in a crib because it literally looks as if it was designed to be incapable of harm. When messed up unexplainable things begin to happen, and assuming you're lucky enough to actually suspect something of the doll so easy to dismiss because of a look intentionally designed to be a pleasant and innocent presence given to the youngest of children, you tell me that those blank eyes that are always staring but never actually looking at anything, and that exaggerated cartoonish smile don't start to get creepy, then progressively creepier.
I couldn’t agree more!! It’s the innocent, blank, mass produced nature that would have made it so much more terrifying. The only way they could have made their doll work in my eyes would have been to start with a beautiful version of the final doll. Pretty smile, bright eyes etc. then slowly throughout the movie have her change into the final “horror” version we started with. It’s too unbelievable that any mother would love that doll for a child!!
@@Lsharp416 Aside from the raggedy ann-abelle, that would have been the way to go if they'd thought of it. Could have kept the unique look that way, but the pleasant looking doll sporting an inviting/welcoming demeanor would have contrasted well with the 'difficult to pinpoint' increasing horrors that seem to always occur around it. I'd have been a fan.
Creepy is in the eye of the beholder, just like most other stuff. If I ever got a chance to visit that museum and burn the doll then I can guarantee then worst thing that would happen to me is a charge of criminal damage. Its literally just a story made up for profit.
I always heard of La Llorona growing up in Mexico. I knew it to be a Mexican urban legend type of story, but it's interesting to see how it could be connected to the Conjuring universe.
@@_Dear-Maria_ there are videos on YTube with People hearing her cries in the middle of nowhere or playgrounds and security goes to check but cant find anything but can hear the cries getting closer and closer.
For the first conjuring movie, we’re the victims cursed if they went to the land or if they LIVED there? Because I thought they only get cursed if they specifically LIVED there
I think a full movie about the Warrens investigating Amityville would make a good movie. As well as a werewolf case for another movies story, those could both be really good.
Hands down the Conjuring 2 is my favorite. Second, the conjuring. Love Ed and Lorain, films will not be same without them. Thank you for all your hard work, great editorial
Great video. I 100% agree about Ed and Lorraine. This franchise does not work without them and I just don't mean the characters, I mean specifically Patrick and Vera whose chemistry together have gone a long way in keeping me invested in their survival of this "haunted" world. My favorite of the bunch is The Conjuring 2 for so many reasons but mainly because at that point I loved the characters of Ed and Lorraine and honestly didn't know if Wan would kill Ed off or not :) It made for some really tense moments.
Your analysis in the beginning of why some horror movies just didn’t do it for me makes so much sense now!! I hate the cliche characters that are always doing the “dumb” things when presented with danger. And the jump scare after jump scare at every moment you think it’s going to happen takes away from the scare. Having a smart, developed, relatable character is much more engaging and in turn makes it scarier when something bad happens. It’s so obvious now just something I never sat and thought about! I just found your channel and I’m loving these movie series deep dives!!!! You’ve got a new sub for sure!
This was great!! You had my absolute attention the whole 40 minutes. Lol I do agree that the 2nd conjuring was the best but for some reason I absolutely love the 1st conjuring. I can watch it again and again.
Thank you for showing love to Annabelle Creation. It was only one of these I saw on the big screen, and I went in expecting a piss poor prequel like annabelle. I still remember the body horror, fingers breaking, wall crawling, literal vore. With a lot of jump scares being based on sound, this movie does a great job of scaring you with silence.
The conjuring 2 is still my favorite in the series. I love the cinematography and ofc the nun who is presented way better than in the movie the nun (in my opinion). And it feels realistic. And the heartwarming scenes which are rare in horror movies are very well written.
Your videos are amazing I don’t know why are you not blowing up Your scripting, voiceover everything is amazing i love your twd videos Keep up the hardwork brother one day you will blowup ❤️
Annabelle creation does contain my favorite line of dialogue from the entire franchise. It’s between Linda and Sister Charlotte, after they close the well. “What’s in there?” “Who cares,Run!!”
I was just reading the comments and saw how many people were surprised this vid hasn't blown up or that you don't have that many subs. I then checkd how many views this video actually has and when I saw 2,873 my jaw literally dropped. You deserve so so much more, I love videos like this and wish you the best going forward.
That "how it all connects" segment was a masterclass I agree that it felt like the nun took place in bc times or atleast wayyy before the conjuring lol
My favorite was easily Annabelle Creation. In my opinion, it was the scariest movie in the franchise, followed by the first conjuring movie. But, there were no movies in this franchise that I hated and they were collectively not terrible.
You continue to amaze me! Great content and I was captivated the entire time. More more … what are you working on next? Can’t wait to see where you take us all.
At timestamp 18:24, you asked the question about the 12 year gap. I believe that shows how patient "evil beings" can be waiting for an opportunity to make themselves known or that could be the explained as the time taken to begin the process Ed Warren discussed in the Conjuring. Oppression, Infestation and Possession. One thing that always jumps out at me watching great stories is that they are all centered around children and some threat toward children, in the Conjuring it Bathsheba making moms sacrifice their kids, in Chapter 2 Bill Withers and Valak threaten children of Peggy Hodgson, La Liorona we see also the sacrifice of children. Valak himself ,the demon, is portrayed as a child riding a dragon. The threat toward children triggers a response in all of us and the director does an excellent job of putting the watcher in parents "shoes" in the movie. I can't help but be reminded of my own childhood, taking and making "dares" to my childhood friends, poking fun at things like "bloody Mary", ghost and demons. The whole idea of waiting 12 years is basically enough time for demon, who has been called or conjured unknowingly by a person dabbling in things they know nothing about to wait for the most opportune time to begin to oppress and invest a life. The longer it waits the better its chances of succeeding. Humans have short memories and are the worst for being curious about the unknown especially as children.
I personally really loved the nun. It may have been a lot of jump scares, but I loved watching the cinematography and even though you can see some of it coming, it was still good when the scene arrived.
Would like to see something like this but with all of James Wan's films. He's notorious for his easter eggs (especially in the early days of his career), so it would be cool to see them all laid out like this.
Great video!! I agree almost exactly with your ratings, but I actually really liked Annabelle Comes Home. The Conjurverse is by FAR the best horror franchise ever made. Period.
Amazing video! I really love The Conjuring Universe and i truly hope that James Wan will be back in The Director's role for future films of this series!
Great job! I believe the First Conjecturing is the scariest movie I seen thus far. The Nun character it’s self still scares me, but I was let down by the movie storyline as it could have went further like the first Conjuring.
Well done. I just delved into this universe this year and must say The Conjuring 2 is my favorite followed by the Nun. Can't wait for part 2! Now a werewolf Conjuring would be very interesting also.
I'm pretty sure the cult group Annabelle was a part of had been referenced in some way in all the main conjuring films. I know it was their objects the priest kept locked away in Part 3 that his daughter got interested in.
Idk if it was a coincidence but the cases Ed and Loraine do at the start of every movie foreshadows the next movie like the first conjuring the house actually wasn’t haunted and the second one it’s a guy who killed his family
While I am no fan of the first Annabelle, they did explain that the doll herself was not possessed. She was more of a conduit for evil/demons. The fact that any entity that wants into this realm can come through her is what makes her creepy. Malthus is the demon that came through. I actually liked that concept. We've already seen tons of "evil dolls/toys" movies. I think they were trying something different. However, I do agree that because it was rushed, the execution wasn't that great. On the other hand, Annabelle Creation was the better movie. I didn't expect much after the first film, so I was pleasantly surprised and genuinely frightened by how good it was. And when you think about it, it actually made sense what was happening in Annabelle Comes Home when pretty much every evil entity in their locked room came through once Annabelle was released from the cabinet. Besides, they had already hinted at Judy Warren inheriting her mom's gift in The Conjuring 2 when she was seeing Valak/The Nun walking around their home. It all makes sense! Also, weren't you paying attention to anything? In Annabelle Creation, there was no mystery as to why the demon was in the house 12 years later. They explained that! Samuel Mullins was the doll maker who created Annabelle in memorial to their deceased 7-year-old daughter, so they actually INVITED what they thought was their daughter's spirit to live permanently inside the doll. After they found out they had invited in an evil entity, they thought it was just best to contain the evil so no one else would experience what they had. That made sense since The Warrens keep cursed artifacts in their home for the same reason. That's why they used tons of Bible scriptures to keep the demon at bay. It wasn't until the little handicapped girl released it that she became the next target. Primarily, because her spirit was already broken by her disability and she couldn't fight back, which I thought was even more evil to pick on someone who doesn't get around very well. But hey, they're demons, that's what they do! Plus, they already explained that The Curse of LA Llorona was not part of the original franchise, but it was shot in a different universe on a different timeline, which was the movie "fad" so to speak. These films are shot in alternate universes all the time. It's usually when they want to talk you into ignoring all the sequels within a franchise and rewrite the story. I do think it should be treated as a standalone film in case they wanted to add to that timeline, but I don't think they will since it did perform poorly. I think it was because it didn't have James Wan. That was the mistake! At any rate, the explanations were there. You just missed some things. That's all!
I didn't think the nun was too bad, the over reliance on the jumpscares is a little annoying but I still enjoyed it mostly. I just hope if they make a sequel they learn from the flaws of the first and take the strengths to make a better film. I will say that some of the scares are pretty good and the nun is my favorite character in the franchise.
I love horror movies and have watched all the movies of conjuring universe. You have made a quite good video on this. Well done. 👍 My favorite movies are conjuring 1, 2, and Annabelle: creation.🤩
I’m so glad that you say you loved the conjuring 2 I keep seeing reviews that dissed it but after being a huge fan of the 1st it just kept the series alive
Have you ever seen the miniseries The Enfield Haunting? I personally think that it was the closest we ever got to the authentic portrayal of the real events
It was a complete hoax. The kids came out a few years ago and admitted that it was all faked. And in real life, Ed and Lorraine was there for like 8 hours and was kicked out.
I actually really enjoyed the curse of La Llorona. Loved that it utilized Latin American folklore rather than a traditional Judea Christian concept of a ghost story or Demonic possession. But your opinion is your opinion man, and I respect that. Also this movie is definitely conjuring universe as father Perez makes an appearance and references Annabelle.
Honestly the lack of trying to even say la llorona spoke volumes to me on the their actual interest in researching this specific movie, even though this is explained in the movie itself, but that's just me 🤷🏽♀️
Ed and Lorraine actually didn’t play a big role. They were there for only about 2 weeks and as the family said, they made it worse for them. Kinda weird lol
Might make you even more disappointed to know that right before their passing, a LOT of the families sued them for making them believe their children were possessed, when in reality it was mental illness. The haunting in Connecticut was just a boy with schizophrenia, and with proper treatment and meds pretty much loved a normal life
Devil Made Me Do It and the Amityville scene we're definitely pretty tone-deaf in terms of real life murder cases and they definitely weren't nice about turning real grieving families horrible experiences into entertainment
I saw "The Nun II" yesterday so coming across this video last night was timely. I appreciate all of the tie-ins and I didn't know about "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" so I'm looking forward to finding and watching that installment. In all honesty, I wasn't impressed with "The Nunn II" and thought it was pretty lame, relying on a few jump scares that I could easily see coming. Not a whole lot of mystery to this one, just scares for the sake of scares. I'd be interested in hearing your review.
Annabelle Creation is the scariest movie I have ever seen. Conjuring 1 and 2, as well as Annabelle Creation are my favorites 3 out of all these movies. Insidious is another series of movies I enjoy watching
The first Conjuring film is in my top 5 favourite horror films. I didn't mind the others as well cuz I don't mind jump scares. I think it's a fun franchise, with the exception of La Llarona lol.
My favourite movie ever is Annabelle: Creation. I can see why others don't really like it though. I love the way that the characters can be actually smart in it, and I love Janice and Lindas friendship. I also think that it was a great way to explain the Annabelle storyline. The way that it is more colourful compared to the rest of the movie also somehow has a factor to it for me. I think the main reason I like it though, would just have to be nostalgia. I'm young but when I was younger, about 7-8 years old, was when I first watched it. My family was always horror fans so I was watching horror movies at about 3 years old so I didn't scream or anything, but it was one of the first horror movies that actually scared me. I'm also Autistic so I struggle with change and continuously watch the same movies or shows over and over again. So when I first watched it I watched it over and over and over again. It was the first in the conjuring universe that I watched, which made me disappointed when I watched Annabelle. I was super excited for Annabelle Comes Home but was disappointed by that too. But the Conjuring movies were not disappointing at all and I loved them. The conjuring 2 is definitely a close second.
my personal favorite movie is conjuring 2. it is so good. the crooked man is my favorite part. this was a really good video and helped me understand the insanity that is the conjuring timeline!
I’d put Annabelle creation either at the front of good or the back of amazing. It was really a great movie and my 3rd favorite out of all of em. Other than that I agree 100% with the list
I actually started to like Annabelle comes home, but the moment I spotted the Wolfman ghost dog thing, it became a Scooby Doo movie and took me out immediately
Honestly, you said the real Annabelle doll isn’t anywhere near as scary as the one in the movie, but I think that makes it even creepier. The movie version already deters you, the “real life” version is unassuming and inviting.
I watched this to get ready for The Nun 2! Thanks for making such a detailed video tying everything together. My personal fav has been The Conjuring 2!

A convenient thing the Conjuring movies have left out is how abusive Ed was towards Lorraine. He would cheat on her, and even have one of his side chicks move into his home with Lorraine. Plus, Ed Warren was no Patrick Wilson. It's like if they cast Brad Pitt to play Big Ed from 90 Day Fiancé.
La llorona is a real myth a uncle told me about it and then a couple weeks later the movie was announced i was excited and knew it had potential but the backstory wasnt explained properly and budget pretty much guaranteed a flop

Yeah, I don't get the person who's giving a review from this universe, the person who's narrating suck, he doesn't even know the full details just to say sister irene and lorraine not connected in this universe. Lol. I watched the whole entire universe so many times.

Great video! The first Conjuring movie and the second Annabelle movie are my absolute favorites. Of course not all movies were as good, but I think it's really cool to see a horror cinematic universe
The scariest part of the Conjuring Universe is learning about the real Ed and Lorraine Warren, they're ironically much more similar to the demons they fight in the movies than their versions portraited in it
Ed and Lorraine were demons
Your appreciation for The Conjuring universe makes me happy... this was a joy to watch... this movie franchise is one of my favourites. Happy to subscribe to your channel.
Thank you very much!
This is how you comment. Well done. Agreed that real doll is creepy. You articulated it very well
@@DirtySouthJR Thank you, that's really appreciated. I know most of my comments are super long, but I try and put some effort and thought into them.
Its giving cultural appropriation
I worked with a Mexican lady. And she was terrified of la Llorona. She told me stories of her and it terrified me
@@_Dear-Maria_ there are videos on YTube with People hearing her cries in the middle of nowhere or playgrounds and security goes to check but cant find anything but can hear the cries getting closer and closer.

I think Insidious was the movie that re-started it all, which also had Patrick Wilson.
They definitely bang
I fell in love with The Conjuring from the moment I saw it and to this day still do.
James Wan is one of the best movies creators in the past 10-20yrs
Lol
I do agree that the 2nd conjuring was the best but for some reason I absolutely love the 1st conjuring. I can watch it again and again.
Thank you very much! It was this rewatch that made me realize how much I like the second one, but both of them are absolutely amazing movies.
I haven’t even seen these films but I love the strange lore and his voice was an immediate “yes. Bedtime story voice.”
Your videos are amazing I don’t know why are you not blowing up
Your scripting, voiceover everything is amazing i love your twd videos

Thank you very much I appreciate that!
My heart literally dropped when the old woman picked up Annabelle 😭
Annabelle creation does contain my favorite line of dialogue from the entire franchise.
It’s between Linda and Sister Charlotte, after they close the well.
“What’s in there?”
“Who cares,Run!!”
Thanks ALL the Hard Work that went into ALL the Reviews for the In-Depth Video 😀
I was just reading the comments and saw how many people were surprised this vid hasn't blown up or that you don't have that many subs.
I then checkd how many views this video actually has and when I saw 2,873 my jaw literally dropped.

Appreciate that so much. This video was a lot of work and I’m glad to see it’s appreciated.
Not when you don't know that sister Irene and Lorraine was actually connected, lol😅
That "how it all connects" segment was a masterclass
I agree that it felt like the nun took place in bc times or atleast wayyy before the conjuring lol
My favorite was easily Annabelle Creation. In my opinion, it was the scariest movie in the franchise, followed by the first conjuring movie. But, there were no movies in this franchise that I hated and they were collectively not terrible.
Ngl even tho ther both good I think contouring 2 is the scariest
Conjuring 1 and 2 are the best imo the nun and Conjuring the devil made me do it were both naff
You continue to amaze me! Great content and I was captivated the entire time. More more … what are you working on next? Can’t wait to see where you take us all.
Stumbled upon this while suffering being sick and it was really well explained and I found myself laughing at the editing.
Thank you for making this video! I was really looking forward to it!
You’ve earned a new sub from this video. Fantastic work my friend
The 2nd conjuring movie hands down top movie in franchise. Great in depth vid. Thanks for all your time and effort.
I'm pretty sure the cult group Annabelle was a part of had been referenced in some way in all the main conjuring films. I know it was their objects the priest kept locked away in Part 3 that his daughter got interested in.

@@itsnyetime you picking up what I’m putting down
Annabelle’s army had me dying😂
That's all!
Yes you are right, this video was not well researched. I've seen much better break downs of this franchise from other creators.
Exactly, I seriously wonder if he even watched the movies or searched up the sunmaries lol
I can watch these movies over and over again.
Can’t wait for the Nun 2 to come out, this is my favorite horror series of all time
It was bad
I didn't think the nun was too bad, the over reliance on the jumpscares is a little annoying but I still enjoyed it mostly. I just hope if they make a sequel they learn from the flaws of the first and take the strengths to make a better film. I will say that some of the scares are pretty good and the nun is my favorite character in the franchise.

24:19 la llorona is a traditional urban legend in the hispanic community (mainly mexico). she’s not a new entity
Honestly the lack of trying to even say la llorona spoke volumes to me on the their actual interest in researching this specific movie, even though this is explained in the movie itself, but that's just me 🤷🏽♀️

I completely agree if it wasn't for the great acting of Ed and Lorraine I don't think this series would have made it this far
This felt like a movie review rather than an explanation of the movies.
Ed and Lorraine actually didn’t play a big role. They were there for only about 2 weeks and as the family said, they made it worse for them.
Kinda weird lol
They also weren’t “Called upon”, or contacted in any way. They showed up themselves all on their own, and routinely did that in their “cases”.
I was so dissapointed when I found out🥲
Might make you even more disappointed to know that right before their passing, a LOT of the families sued them for making them believe their children were possessed, when in reality it was mental illness. The haunting in Connecticut was just a boy with schizophrenia, and with proper treatment and meds pretty much loved a normal life
@@ElftheDog everybody knows there’s no such thing as demonic possessions it’s all a scam to get money out of poor broken up people
Devil Made Me Do It and the Amityville scene we're definitely pretty tone-deaf in terms of real life murder cases and they definitely weren't nice about turning real grieving families horrible experiences into entertainment
Great breakdown! Well done 👏🏻
I'd be interested in hearing your review.

as a horror fan seeing the conjuring universe explained makes full sense to me now I thank you for this video thank you
My favourite movie ever is Annabelle: Creation.

I love the Annabelle series. And I agree that Conjuring2 surpassed the first one which is rare for sequels.
