1:05 maybe it's worth to mention tram for space was taken from cars - 4 lanes were replaced with only 2. Which is good! Although I'd expect also a lot of trees planted and converting 2 lanes left into pedestrian zone
12 billion dollars is crazy for a one stop extension of Caltrain, but the cost isn’t gonna get lower in the near future. Makes sense that they’re just sucking it up and building it
Bandung needs a Metro and LRT system.. not a bus system. There is already a free to use bus service which linked IKEA to the city etc... This city got over 6.5 million people. Adding more buses will only make the traffic even worse or like in Jakarta where the buslines in the end will be taken over by bikers because of the traffic.
@@MichalBergseth-AmitopiaTV in 2010, former mayor of Bandung proposed an all-out public transport plan, including Light Metros and Cable Cars. Aaaaand... because the walloon government is mostly right wing, whereas the places where the tram was planned to go to are left wing... It becomes very clear when you learn that the right wing party (MR) once supported the tram extensions, when it was in a center-left coalition, but not anymore since the MR is in a right wing coalition.
thinking about the tram of Gothenburg, 306 pax, that means in best case about 300 Cars less on the road... just in case someone has to argue for public transport...

@@cityforallBecause the numerous tram lines built in France by the same French company get built way cheaper and faster it does feel like we got ripped off by the French as is tradition. The new Brussels metro got even worse cost overruns and delays almost bankrupting the city. Now pro-car MR got a lot of electoral success in Wallonia and Brussels and is going to halt progress in Wallonia and reverse all of the positive changes for cyclists made in Brussels last few years. a metro project was announced in Kraków recently, replacing a former idea of a light rail line
Interesting
Glad to see the city of Bandung in the news.

the Liège tram is of spanish builder
Yes, CAF, I mentioned that in the video
The Liège tram is such a joke and so representative of Wallonia as a whole.
What's wrong with it? For me, at first sight, as a start of the network's revival, it looks not bad.
