Me and my friends started a multiplayer game and unknowingly built there, so instead of moving due to the constant attacks we built several large-scale crematoriums and made a castle out of bones.
Farket man you're so good at the game you risk becoming like one punch man, where you're so good it presents no challenge and therefore no enjoyment for yourself.
I remember me and my friends had a world where we built near the geese lake, cleared a lot of trees, these bastards were coming every 7-10 minutes. It was annoying af but it helped us train our defending skills
Best place to build IMHO. Constant attacks from multiple cannibals & mutant patrol routes, plenty of all resources, nearby cannibal camp, excellent location to finish late/end game from.

I was playing with my friends and we were eating cannibals and someone got off and when we came back from the snow we thought he ate all 5 meat racks of cannibals until we later found out they root. (Farket face palming)

Dude I had vietnam flashbacks watching this video. Explanation: I bought this game last week with a friend because we wanted to play something fun together, so we started our first world and the plane spawned in a forest near the coast. We started looking for some nice places to build our house and guess what, we choose that damn place you're talking about. First day was terrible, we couldn't finish the house because the night came and either we could sleep because mutants were close. We didn't sleep that night, day 2 we finished the house but cannibals and mutants keep on coming. We didn't pass day 3 without dying. End up starting all over again. Our first 10 hours in the game were a full trauma. Watching this video was not pleasant.
My friend and I built right on a patrol route and couldn’t go 5 minutes with out being attacked. Funny thing is, my friend could go a whole day with out being attacked if they left the cabin, but as soon as I left, we got heaps and swarms of them on us.

on the first playthrough i had with my friends, we built there. Constant cannibal attacks with 6-12 cannibals, sometimes even big 1-5 big mutants. Its great. We also played without any pouches, and our main source of food were limbs. We called the patch of dirt and boulders seperating the lake and sea the "Berlin Wall", and every 2-6 minutes scouts of 3-6 cannibals travel through
Consistently impressed by your editing skills. You make the events just flow together so well, by the time the video is over I didn't feel like 17 minutes had just passed. Glad you're still finding new ways to make this game interesting. Keep it up!
Yep I built there. Constant cannibals and mutants. Worm came on day 3 of building (day35) definitely super fun if you have multiple people to help build

I might be weird but I started my base there, I’ve always wondered why there were so many of those dudes around, makes sense now, but I gotta say once you’ve beaten the game everything is so much easier with all the stuff, might as well build epic houses now
I always build a fortified outpost in the fertile lands, but never a base. 2 games now, i built against the cliff in one, then up top near the smaller pond in the other. Next to no no cannibal activity. I had all these creative trap ideas, but no way to apply them without basically starting over. It's hard building a base from scratch, on a patrol route, on day 100+ lol.... Fertile lands for a resource run, maybe stay a night, then off to home elsewhere.

The best places to build is the fertile lands. If you build right at the bottom you will still avoid ANY patrols and still have access to as much food and blueberries as you like but also have decent access to wood.
When me and my friends bought the forest for the first time, we built our first ever base right at that spot just down the beach,we thought that cannibals were something you just had to deal with every day

I personally find the hardest spot to be the northern end of the sinkhole (according to the map) right on the riverbank, three scout paths converging, before day one was over I had full bone armor and a basket full of bones 😆
My first ever time playing this game with some buddies we built a base on the cliff side near where your current base is and with all the unholy amount of times we got attacked he had good traps set up for creepy armor farms when the mutants decided to say hi
There's a dangerous spot if u go to the yacht then head straight into the forest u will find find a pool with with a rock cliff behind it and there's a pot around there (it's right on top of a patrol route)

If your looking at the island from the water. A bit to the left from the containers where the two lookout tower things... I built there on my first playthrough...... Every day without fail. Too many cannibals to count. When i ran up to get trees. Every day multiple mutants on my ass and cannibals literally EVERYWHERE that area was horrible.
I would also like to add it was so difficult for me i had to restart and my game and build somewhere else... Yes it was my first playthrough but...i think anyone would have a hard time with the amount of cannibals that were there around day 15. Im talking like 10-15 sometimes more cannibald surrounding the area on the beach and up on the hill by the trees. Insane!

Me and my brother built on this spot the first time we played it, we were under constant attacks and ofc us being new we thought this was normal, he googled and saw it was on a patrol route and we instantly moved everything from the base XD
I know this is old but a hard spot to build is on the coast by the Yacht, me and my friend built there our first time cause easy water in the pond nearby, easy cloth, turtles, and all those free goodies from the Yacht. Perfect until you get jumped, or as me and my friend has started calling it, Raid Shadow Legended (since you know, getting raided) 5 times a day and eventually we just made an entirely sustainable water fortress and only came to land for weapons and cloth, until we beat the game around day 500. Then we survived until like day 700 until a Worm thingy spawned and rekt our fortress.
This is a bit late but I built my first base by the very southeast crash site. Just south of the main cannibal camp near the ocean where there's a small beach. The area is littered with bad guys. Building there is a pain in the ass, but there's a ton of trees and sticks. Even though I've built a few other places I always return there because it's the funnest area to hang out and it's full of resources.
Me and my friend built right in that area up against a cliff face, because we thought it would be easy, then we found out we built in a difficult area the hard way, and we later found out we built right above the cave with the modern bow!.
Check out Clipperton Island in the Pacific Ocean. It has some resemblance to this map. Also a crazy story of a group of people who got stranded there. Although I think the cannibals resemble the people of north sentinel island.

A good way to take down stick trees in your situation is by using the upgraded spear (not the normal one, make sure it's the upgraded spear)
