You should mention that the new Corolla GR does not predicts that is going to catch on fire after reaching 85/mph; they should include a fire extinguisher as part of the standard package.
I hate car manufacturers keep downsizing their engines. Imagine turbo a 2.5 liters 4 cylinders engine or a 3 liters V6 engines. They will last forever. Also say no to CVT give us back normal gear boxes. This kinds of combo will sure make any car last longer than 15 years🙄
Too bad the transmission on these overheat. And the tiny overboosted engine will probably explode as soon as warranty expires. Hoping the 2 litre one...

Toyota has a team of smart engineers that learn and improve and you think they should just shut the whole thing down because of a few incidents? Why can't they learn from it and improve on it? Are you smarter than the engineers that are creating the corolla? If so why don't you offer them a consultation for a hefty fee instead of hating on a comment section?

Toyota is killing it. You can tell by all the haters. Keep making new performance cars and don’t listen to these people. We need as many as we can get, especially manual.

More like General Motors Ford is better in that regard if we’re talking about General Motors, but they’re not too far off these days and don’t even get me started on Fait Chrysler this is why I have a 2003 Lexus ES 300 that I plan on dumping a bunch of money into making it nice and rebuilding everything and making it practically brand new because that car will last to the moon and back twice three times the original Lexus LS400 did and also the 2010 Ford rangers actually from the 1990s 1998 to 2010. Those were good years of the Ford Ranger especially if you got the 2.3 L in line 4 manual five speed transmission, but that was back in the day, I do agree with you now is becoming kind of crap less than GM and way less than Dodge as far as the trucks are concerned and they muscle cars because the Dodge Challenger and charger 5.7 hemi V8s have that notorious ticking problem from that engine in particular problem where is the Mustang They don’t have that issue on the 5.0 L V8 but honestly every car company is failing in someway in some category or reliability. That’s just how it’s going, unfortunately but I will say this Toyota and Lexus or some of the last two to fail as well as Honda in terms of reliability, and maybe Ford being forth on that list the pending on the vehicle I had it 2014 6.2 L V8 Ford Raptor that was very reliable. I loved that truck and that one I will say is probably one of the last ones that was really reliable as far as Ford goes but when it comes to the GR Corolla because I have one circuit edition I’ve had it for a year now I’ve been daily driving it and road tripping it. I’ve had zero problems with the car so a lot of catching fire business is over hyped yes two of them did catch on fire, but do you know how many electric cars do that after they get into an accident and people keep buying them and even Chevy has a recall on the Chevy bolt for that very thing that they will catch on fire. @@90sbuickguy84 you're comparing EVS to a gas car. But there have been reports of many many gas cars that catch fire. Let's be realistic. It's garbage. The government regulations are killing Toyota. And every other manufacturer out there. So sad what's happened to the automotive world.
Hopefully toyota will honor their warranty on these updated models. I'm curious to see if Toyota will allow current GR Corolla owners to flash their ECUs with that new tune? I'd not complain about the extra torque. :) The inclusion of Torsen LSDs on every Corolla is a brilliant move as well from a manufacturing standpoint - fewer options, fewer chances of mistakes, more 'cookie cutter' cars get sold. I would like to drive one of the 2025 models to see how the suspension tuning has changed the responsiveness and turn-in.
