Hi mate great video like the information 👍 I'm having trouble with my central difference when I put it bank in with the rubber facing downwards and I place the 5 screws back in the pinion and spur jamming for some reason not sure please help many thanks
Something is not aligned correctly, or the gear mesh needs adjusted. Did you change the spur gear? Or is the spur gear the same one you were using before?
@MIRCLIFE hi mate thanks for getting back to me so quickly yes I've charged the stock 46t spur gear to 39t and going to run on 23t pinion gear not sure what your setup is but I'm trying that for now. I only bought this truck last week so haven’t had its first run yet like I said I done what you said on the video puch the red with the black rubber in first. I also used silicone ear plugs I was told by someone they better I believe. But for some reason when I put the back on and 5 screws in tight the spur and pinion doses not turn around for some reason. I've done exactly what you done in your video. But if I back off the 5 screws a bit. Not tight it much the spur and pinion gear will move again. Not sure what's going on or what I've done.
If you changed the tooth count of your spur gear from a 46 to a 39 you are going to have to change your gear mesh. It involves loosening some bolts underneath the truck and sliding your motor further away or closer.
Great video! Do you have a tear down video of removing the center diff from the vehicle and then taking the diff apart? Mine is bad and I'd like to just rebuild it if I can.
Good vid, im gonna do that fan screen to mine when i pick my new car up. Good idea. How did you get holes for the bolts in the screen ? I presume its stainless steel screen. drive or just punch something round thru it to spread it ?
First of all, thanks for watching & commenting. I came up with the idea because I was always getting rocks in my fan and breaking the blades😡. I sourced some stainless steel mesh (you were right😉) from the internet. I cut it to size and then pushed a pick (or anything round) through the square hole that best lined up with the existing fan bolt holes and bolted it all together. One thing I changed was I ended up pulling 1 row of mesh off from each side of the stainless cover because if it's exactly the same size as the fan housing it leaves a bunch of wire sticking out along all 4 sides that can poke you easily, removing 1 row of mesh off from each side (2 if needed) essentially makes the screen cover a bit smaller than the fan housing and then you don't get poked everytime you come in contact with it. I just thought I'd pass that along brother. 😁.
my rear diff on my k8 didnt even last one battery pack, 500k fluid on stock electronics, and tips? the same gear that failed for you was failure point for my dif, but mesh was good. running on a flat yard 😕
I’ve got an outcast EXB with the Max5 and 800kv combo coming. Going to be running on 12s. - Any recommendations for what size to go on pinion & spur gears? Was planning on 1:1 (39T for both) but idk if I should try something else?
I have over 30 rc ground vehicles so it's hard to keep track of the spur and pinion combo on each and every vehicle. If I was at home I would just run downstairs and count the number of teeth on the spur and pinion unfortunately I am not home right now 😔
If you cannot move the drive cup I would say it's too tight. Remove a shim or insert a thinner one. You can order shims of different thickness's. If it's too tight with one extra shim installed and you pull that shim out and it's too loose I would order some of the in-between shims
@@myrclife thank you for the prompt response. I pulled it out and will order some thinner ones. We learn something new everyday. Keep up the good work I'm following
I always try to respond as quick as I can. Sometimes for whatever reason I don't always get a notification that I have a comment. If I don't respond in a few days just ask me the question again and maybe it will pop up on my phone. Thank you so much for subscribing I'm trying to grow the channel I've been doing a lot with planes lately but I need to get back on the trucks and cars as well
Hi mate sorry I forgot to ask you what Size pinion gear are you running mate it looks over 35t and 46t spur yh. Im thinking of my setup gearing 39t spur and pinion 30 to 35t what's are your views but I'm only run on 8s not 12s like you. 🤔. Can you buy max4 combo with the motor let me know thanks 😊
so your running 12s i was wanting to do that also just cant make up my mind on max4 flier or snake or the ztw which of these do you think would be the best as far as not burning up or just being wasted money because its junk i dont want to have to replace it anytime soon
I don't like the flier or the r-snake because they don't have a built in B.E.C. so you have to run a third small battery back just to power your reciever and steering servo or buy a external B.E.C. that you have to wire in. I like the ztw beast pro and I think the hobby wing max 4 is probably good too but I've never owners one.....YET. lol. If you purchase a ztw buy it at "offshore power sports" ....they will save you about $150. Most places want $450 for a ztw beast pro 300 but offshore has them for around $300.👍
Also, if you buy a beast pro 300, DO NOT pair it to a motor any higher than 800kv. I've heard people complain that they have caught fire and stuff but they always have them paired to a motor higher than 800kv when it happens. I have 2 of the beast pro 300's (one in my raminator and one in my arrma outkast) and have had no issues! It says right on the box do not pair this ESC to a motor any higher than 800 KV
Yeah i have the castle 800kv powered by castle xlx2 had I known when I bought it as a bundle I should have gotten the 1100kv but I didn't and knowing my motor isnt working at it's full potential just pisses me off (at myself ) cause I should have done more homework but I had the cash and just went head long for the biggest that I could get then the xlx2 was all the talk .God I'm so dumb
I have a 800 KV castle motor in my xmaxx with a Max 5 powering it and I'm running. A HUGE pinion gear....48 tooth to be exact. That was the only way I could get some good speed out of it.
What ever you do don’t get a flier I caught mine on fire in the first run also if your gonna run 12s with 800kv keep ur pinion low like 14-15t max and all esc settings on ztw set to low also a nuclear cap pack will be that extra bit of re assurance
This was the best information I've had.

I do not have a tear down video but it was not very hard to do.

Try putting lighter fluid in the rear like 200k and see how that works

Where did you order your shims and what size did you use?
The shims came with the rebuild kit. Thanks for watching.
perfect job mate..very helpful..👌👌
kip it up champ🤙
Hell yea
once you added the second shim. were you able to move the drivecup at all? I added it and it's so tight it barely moves without being inside the diff

How much work something like this cost to do ?

Yes you can buy max 4 combo "COMBO", and I don't remember what spur and pinion I am running 🤷
@MIRCLIFE I think 🤔 your running stock spur which is 46t. and the pinion difo looks bigger than my 23 pinion gear you have on their mate 👍
coolio mate
Glad you liked it💯
Nice
Thanks 🤙
Does anybody knows the partnr from the shims or the size?
