You know you're appropriately hyped when you're in the video, know all the cards being revealed, and STILL show up as it's uploaded to watch the whole thing! :D
I love this deck reveal! Solid reprints, solid strategy, and just afgordable, good old Commander fun, especially for new players! Love how it takes the opportunity to have fun with reprints to create its own EDH deck!
I'm pretty stoked for the deck. I've been wanting a good Rogue tribal power-up for a while, and the price point made it a lot easier for me to pick up even though I knew there'd be less new cards. Good stuff, Gavin. Thanks for the fun to come!
Wizards Last Year: "Look, Brawl decks! See how fun they are? Brawl is THE format to jump into now!" This Year: "FINE, YOU WANT COMMANDER!?! HERE! HAVE SOME COMMANDER! YOU HAPPY NOW?"
With Innistrad Werewolves coming up I'm expecting a dedicated Werewolf Commander, possibly two or three, in that set because of how disappointed people were with Ulrich.
@@danielslack9114 frankly we may get about one that's Werewolf-tribal. Any other legendary creature that happens to be a Werewolf will support something else, including hosing any strategy the Vampire set will come up with. Another example are Humans or Angels that are against Werewolves (punishing transformation) or work with them (Human-tribal with a Wolf/Werewolf subtheme, like a transform payoff)
Gavin with the blue black shirt for a dimir deck. every time he’s been on the show his clothes have matched what he’s playing/talking about and I love it
I don't usually play Dimir, and I had pretty low expectations for this product, but the reprint value and sheer "quality" of the product has convinced me I made the right choice by preordering.

@@ArmageddonAsh Im still getting the landfall deck...you pretty much gotta stomp on the Dimir Rogues as fast as possible. So many good new landfall cards in Zendikar Rising
A friend traded me this deck in december. Finally learning how to play and i enjoy how simple this decks game plan is put together. Thank you for the share !
Man they're nailing it with the price. I used to shy away from commander precons because they're too expensive for mediocre powered decks but with $20 price point it's way more justified and very affordable to boot! Definitely getting one, maybe two to gift for friends who might want to start playing commander.
I really like these decks. Honestly more excited about these than the decks that came out earlier this year. I love the reprints and hope to see the trend continue going forward!
I understand that everyone wants Red in the deck for the card called Sneak Attack, but the reason the deck is called Sneak Attack is because it is a "rogue tribal" deck and Rogues in D&D (which the "party" concept of the block comes from) are known for having a feature called Sneak Attack which allows them to do more damage to targets they have an advantage on. Looked for this in the comments and couldn't find it, so I figured I'd offer explanation for anyone who was confused.
I don't know if I would have recognized Gavin with that beard. Wow. I also was hoping that Crim (also known as TheAsianAvanger) would be the co-host with how much he loves Rogues and has been on a Game Knights episode, but then I heard that this person helped developed it.
Should not count on the value in this video. What matters is the value after couple weeks. There are cards from Shadowmoor in there that will tank hard. Still a good product, and nice to have harder to find cards like Oona and Sygg. But, people should stop being hyped with value when they see for example they pay 25$ for 50$ worth of reprints "before release" when 1 month after, these cards can be worth maybe 30$. That saying I have preorder the 2 Commander decks and at the price paid i'm happy with the content.
@@endlessorbaggins8223 granted the value of the cards are likely to drop, will do for both decks but the dimir one will still be of higher value as it comes with some great cards and commander options, the Naya one didn't get that, outside of Omnath it didn't really get anything. Even after the values fall. The dimir one will still be the better value with the better cards
I’ve never played commander and bought one to get into the format and am super excited to use it and upgrade it in the future. excellent way to bring more people into the format with good, affordable decks.
I had that song stuck in my head these last two days, but I couldn't remember who was to the left of me! As soon as I heard the opening, "Clowns to the left of me, Joker to the right," I knew it was the universe telling me it was time to subscribe.
I really like that these precon commanders are paying attention to the manabase. I would argue that is the least accessible part of this hobby to new players. Please keep supplying rocks. Lord knows we all need them. Excited to check out a new magic channel. Thanks guys.
Me: Hmm maybe I won't pick up one of these precons this time round. Command Zone: Here's Oona. Me: *smashes buy now button* Also, there is no deck running black that does not benefit from having Syr Konrad in it. Always run Syr Konrad. Unless you don't enjoy the entire table gunning for you.
Hey Josh, SAGA is absolutely wonderful and I second Jimmy's recommendation. Huge, expansive world, beautiful art and story, you should totally check it out!
the deck looks pretty sweet, initial thoughts for cards to put into the deck include, Trepanation Blade, Psychic Corrosion, Sphinx's Tutelage and Mindcrank all to support the mill engines
I would also suggest to add Leyline of the Void. I great card to get around titans. Edit: Teferi's Tutelage and Teferi’s Ageless Insight are good additions. Alhammarret's Archive may be a good add if players can afford the cost.
When I saw the format of the box and Amazon price, I expected to see the commander deck drop in quality for a fair reason and price. THE REPRINTS MADE THIS EXPECTATION A JOKE! Good job wizards!👍
I use Notorious Throng in my changeling-based "Everything Tribal" deck! Such a fun and underrated card, always gets a big reaction when cast after combat
Super excited for this precon, even as an established MTG player who has spent thousands of dollars on product this year. I pre-ordered through Amazon for $20 and it's an absolute steal considering the value contained within.
I appreciate WotC making their commander products more "focused". While the regular commander precons are cool having 3 different commanders with 3 possible directions it makes it that each path isn't fully explored. I hope to see more of these but maybe fine tuned a little more. Also glad to see some really cool reprints. Pretty decent product imo
I can confirm that they're not just plugging those sleeves, I used to hate ultra pro because back in the day the sleeves they made were complete trash, but the Eclipse sleeves are really amazing. I love 'em. I never thought Ultra Pro could change from making garbage, but they've really, really come around with the amazing deck boxes and sleeves they've made recently.
I like this more than some of the precons they came out with. This feels exactly like a deck that someone who only had about 100$ to design a deck with would put together, and their favorite creature happened to be a rogue. I want both of these decks, as they are well designed and look very playable straight out of the box, whereas some years precons required day one upgrades to function outside of a precon table.
Arcane signet goes into every deck, even mono-colored, because the mono-colored rocks (diamond cycle) enter tapped. Maybe not in a mono-green deck, but even still it's a great rate.
I ordered from my LGS the 2 commander decks for $10 each almost a month now, not knowing the spoilers or reprint except I knew there gonna be 3 new cards for each deck. Now that the spoilers are out for the the 2 sets, you bet I'm gonna order some more. Like the Brawl decks, I ordered as much I can find in Target and Walmart. Just for the Shock Lands $10>, Arcane Signet was $8 and Smothering Tithes. Smothering Tithes right now is at $17. Card Kingdom is even out of stock.
Necromantic selection, I believe, cannot snag commanders. New rule states that when a commander goes to the graveyard or is put in exile, a state base action occurs outside the stack where the owner of the commander decides if the commander remains in the graveyard/exile or is moved to the command zone. The state base action are always resolved first even if said action is in the middle of a spells effect.
Seems like a good intro product, and hey, if you want Oona and Sigg then this is just great value as you're gonna get an Arcane Signet and Sol Ring for some other deck. But it's not for me.
So commanders go to the graveyard when they die now right, then you can choose to put them into the command zone. So can Lazav copy other players commanders?
I love the new deck ideas! It seems like a great cheap way to introduce players into the commander format with a fun theme. Something also that could be really fun in the future to bring people into the format is crossover decks! Like having a godzilla deck during Ikoria, a D&D deck theme next year, and personally I hope maybe someday we could see like an avengers themed deck someday ;D Either way, sticking to tribal seems super fun for new players.
I'm trying to build a starter cube for my wife, 2 kids, and I functioning on tribal with secondary types of Warriors, Rogues, Clerics, and wizards. Alot of these cards are in the cube....woot!
I quite like how, because this doesn’t have 3 new commanders included, this deck comes across as being more focused than usual even with less raw power. It doesn’t have a new 5 colour cycle forced into it. It doesn’t look like 3 mini decks smooshed into a commander deck, like I don’t need to take 10-12 completely unrelated, non-belonging cards out immediately after buying it.
I have play tested this deck against my friend ofc it is all proxies and i can tell you one deck this beats for shure and that's mono green stompy. I got his rampaging baloths and i added arcane adaptation making it a rouge. after that i used imp's mischief to make his colossification target my baloths giving it +20 +20 with trample witch milled him for lots of goodies.

Looking forward to play a few of these cards in my yuriko deck. The reprints are awesome for the 25$usd price tag. Card kingdom is great but I noticed I couldn't pre order a few sets on their due to being Canada. I recommend Amazon or your local game store if you really want to pre order cards or sets.
First upgrade, coat of arms, easily. Also, this deck does feel a lot better (or at least nicer to play) than the other precon. I'm thinking about getting this one and just the new cards+omnath from the other
Will you all be playing the precons on an episode of Game Knights? Or are you guys building decks around Legendary Creatures that are in the Zendikar set?
30:37 When it was released you spoke about it like it wasn't "that big a deal." You said it was good in five color decks. Jimmy said it definitely doesn't go in mono color decks.
They said it wasn’t as OP as the community was saying, they said you should still probably run it in 2 color decks but it wouldn’t be noticeably better than the regular signet.
I suspect most of us were expecting these decks to be mediocre compared to the annual Commander decks, but happily, they appear to be legitimately good and (just as important) fun to play. AND they're more affordable. Sets a great precedent for future decks of this type.
Guess wizard could make a "spellbook" : Commander Artifact Ramp. (arcane) signets, talismans, medalions, mindstone, wayfairs, solring, with one random foil, and or based on a colorsceme
Funny how I've been building a Red/Green landfall commander deck, and even been contemplating building a rogue deck too, and then they drop these 2 commander pre-cons. Guess I'll be picking up both!
Great video, off topic but lets talk Eldrazi for a second. Specifically the new spoiler for the Zendikar Rising legendary artifact "Forsaken Monument" Amazing for eldrazi or just artifact in general, but the big point for you EDHers Sol ring for 3 mana!! Now thats value! 👍

I think we'd all love to see a video that's just a collection of all your intro songs. DO IT! 😂
Will you all be playing the precons on an episode of Game Knights? Or are you guys building decks around Legendary Creatures that are in the Zendikar set?

When it was released you spoke about it like it wasn't "that big a deal." You said it was good in five color decks. Jimmy said it definitely doesn't go in mono color decks.
They said it wasn’t as OP as the community was saying, they said you should still probably run it in 2 color decks but it wouldn’t be noticeably better than the regular signet.
Windfall -> Hold Priority -> Notion Thief
The infinite sadness. I love it so much.
Already had a Rogue deck I like. This will add some nice fodder to swap between them. As long as the price is reasonable, I will definitely acquire.
I suspect most of us were expecting these decks to be mediocre compared to the annual Commander decks, but happily, they appear to be legitimately good and (just as important) fun to play. AND they're more affordable. Sets a great precedent for future decks of this type.
All those unblockable rogues seem like a nice base for the ninja deck I've been wanting to build 😊
I’m excited to see what they will bring and especially for new commander players. The fact that the price point is lower is great as well
Guess wizard could make a "spellbook" : Commander Artifact Ramp. (arcane) signets, talismans, medalions, mindstone, wayfairs, solring, with one random foil, and or based on a colorsceme
Wayfarer's Bauble
And these were pre-ordering on Amazon at $21????
Funny how I've been building a Red/Green landfall commander deck, and even been contemplating building a rogue deck too, and then they drop these 2 commander pre-cons. Guess I'll be picking up both!
@Henry Rodning oooh nice! I'm building a Radha, Heart of Keld deck
