As a Christian please do not use Jesus’s name in vain now on another note, I am also excited for spice and wolf as well. I recently watched the original Anime last year, and I deafly got to say it was really good, but any people who have been waiting for a long time for the series again should be happy about this.
I never gave up and it paid off!
@@sphygo well, look at it this way, as you spice and wolf fans are getting a new adaptation well me on the other hand a black lagoon fan I highly doubt I am ever getting another anime adaptation, and the. Manga is slowly, but surely coming out. At least I can read that. At you guys are getting a new adaptation which I am also looking forward to.

unfortunately it's old spice and wolf, only in new packaging. it's still questionable how much they will adapt from the LN.

I don't think they'd do it if they weren't. They'll probably do a hunter x Hunter deal with it.
The original adaptation skipped a few books in-between season 1 & 2, so we may get more of what was already animated quite early on actually.

This makes me so happy, spice and wolf was my fifth ever anime series and i love it with all my heart, i cant wait to see it get re adapted
Like everyone else, I too am super excited for more Spice and Wolf. Still one of my favorites even after all these years. I really hope they manage to get Brina Palencia and J Michael Tatum for the dub because they really made my experience complete, being phenomenal at their jobs as they are.

Pretty sure they're both currently voicing the audiobooks, so it seems pretty likely they'll be cast for the anime.
Spice and Wolf fans unite!! Literally my favorite anime, one of my favorite book series, and Holo is my favorite character/waifu. Seriously so excited I dont have words. I hope the same english actors come back for a dub because the English dub for the anime was just perfect.

There's upsides and downsides to the spice and wolf announcement
Downsides
- The animation studio assigned to animate the new Spice and Wolf remake is Studio Passione. Their track record leaves much to be desired
- There's going to be CGI in the anime
- The director assigned to directly oversea the animes production is Sanpei, Hijiri. A director with no stand out performances
Upsides
- The chief director of Studio Passione is Takeo Takahashi, the director responsible for the original Spice and Wolf anime
- The original Japanese voice actors a coming back to reprise their roles as Holo and Lawrence
- Kevin Penkin is doing the music for the series
Middle Ground
- Character design and art style greatly differs from the original anime adaptation but is more in line with the light novels

Yoooo... Spice and Wolf remake + continuation is one of the top dream wants I've had for years in the anime space. Super hype that it's finally happening, never thought it would.
Super excited about Spice & Wolf, I hope they animate the whole series and then do Wolf & Parchment!

I am happy with these anime announcements for sure, Oshi No Ko is probably one of the best animes of the year.

I hope to god that Spice and Wolf's new dub will have the old VA's back, loved Holo's english voice and Spice and Wolf is one of the few animes that i rather watch dubbed than subbed. Heard the new voice in the trailer and Holo sounded a bit weird for me but i have to wait adn see until the anime comes out next year

Spice and Wolf has always been one of those "I'll get around to it" deals especially with the Season 3 demand being somewhat like NGNL S2 deal, so with it returning, I can finally get around to it!

That Robin plot was... something.
I like Lawrence's look in the new one but I kinda like the artstyle for Holo in the original. She kinda seems rounder in the remake although it looks closer to the LN art.
My first thought to AX hotels having problems was, "Is the Kawada back on the list?"
I'm super happy to see Spice and Wolf come back, i absolutely love the series, even though i would prefer a continuation of the original anime over the remake, still happy to see Holo and Lawrence return!!!!
To be fair, it's been a decade, even longer than it was for Fullmetal Alchemist when Brotherhood got released, so it's understandable that they would do this. Plus, we can hope this goes beyond what's been covered by the original series. Fingers crossed.

If they announce a remake in the U.S. I'm like "oh, great, how are they going to ruin this one?" but when anime gets a remake I'm all excited, lol.
I feel that from my limited experience with remakes of existing anime, they turn out to be pretty good.
There was much talk for Spice and Wolf coming back for like half a year, yet still i am quite happy. They have given us very little information tho.
I am a long time proponent, that Spice and Wolf is a rather nice IP from an studio kind of way due to low production cost to tell a great story that can reach so many. One basicly needs only 2 main VA and the show can get by with low animation as long as the backgrounds and the dialogue is nice. If they play it right they can produce the show for many years to come. From the trailer this might be the case. While the upgrades look is awesome it seems conservative with its budget even in the trailer. I do still kinda hope they might do a shortened first novel adaptation and then they can kinda montage 2, 3 and 4 and do the fur trade arc. I guess its gonna be a full reboot tho, but i kinda do hope they might leave the one light novel band out that was left out in the OG adaptation. Its a boring arc, its preferable to get to the better arcs faster. Also Chris is a great composer, surely he will catch the feeling of old show, which was mostly based on the instruments that have been used.
I'm glad you're optimistic about the music, I was very concerned about that. Right now I'm just trying to shake the Devil is a Part Timer season 2 vibes the animation from the new trailer gives me.
I too own the massive tome that is the collecters edition. Ended up being cheapter than buying the entire series seperately. Man I need to finish it I'm so far but college has kept me from finishing it, and I still have wolf and parchment to read.
The Spice and Wolf news is super exciting for me and made me IMMEDIATELY click this video. I recently (this year) watched spice and wolf, and despite how boring and sometimes hard to follow it felt at times, it had such a charm that I needed to see all the way through. Come to learn at the end of season 2 that it did not just skip parts of the written story (or so I've heard), but that it never got its finish and ended with a very anti-climactic ending... You can imagine hearing of a second chance for it makes me ecstatic.

Ah, I'm never tired of being impressed by how Ichiro's overly intriguing script is paired with an overflowing potential spoilers in the show's promotion. Of course, unless it turns out that in G-Witch he has outdone himself so much that even potential spoiler information is part of the plot for us to speculate about it, lol.
Spice and Wolf being back makes me happier than any other anime news in years. It is my favorite anime and I have the entire book series and it made me so sad that it stopped. I hope it is popular enough when it comes back that it continues much further into the story because the arcs only get better. When I heard the news I sat in shock for a long time.

Just basing it off the trailer being halfway done and the 2024 release, it's most likely in Q1, Q2 at the latest for Spice and Wolf.
The LN volumes adapted into the original anime of Spice & Wolf are, 1, 2, 4, 5, and the shorter stories from Side Colors 1. Yes, I checked.
Wrong they skipped the fourth light novel but you were right about the other ones getting adapted.
Kevin seems to always show up in anime that I am really looking forward to.
They skipped one of the early novels in the original adaptation (I think it was vol. 4) so if they spend the first 6-7 episodes on volumes 1-3, 2 or 3 episodes apiece, then they could get to new material pretty quickly by adapting vol. 4. Or they could switch the order and have volume 3's events happen after volume 4, and get there even quicker.
The novels are fantastic, but they're also a lot of internal thoughts and world building. If approached correctly, that can be done very quickly in anime form.
I would agree if it was a live action, but anime is a medium known for its masterful use of inner monologues (it's something that works really well in animations), so another approach could be to do it in an elaborative way. However S&W has such a slow pacing this may not be a good idea (to not put off too many people).
Spice and Wolf is my favorite anime/light novel series of all time. I'll miss that stocatto recorder sound, but I'm beyond hyped for this.

I am so excited for spice and wolf. As a fan of fantasy and romance, not to mention an economics major, I adored the original.
I think the reason Otaku Elf has low popularity is the titular elf is so relatable to its intended target audience that it feels real and cringe, kinda like Bocchi The Rock! but in reverse, lol.

While it wasn't my favorite series of the season--that honor is a tie between Oshi no Ko and The Dangers In My Heart--it was an enjoyable end-of-the-week watch that combined the antics of the hikikomori Elda with a weekly mini-history lesson.
As for the headline news, as I did not get to watch Spice and Wold when it first aired, I'm looking forward to this new iteration.
Now I want to visit Tsukishima after watching Otaku Elf.

Saw Spice and Wolf and had to click. It was one of my favorite anime of all times-even got me into buying the light novels for them (first series I ever bought Light Novels for). It's been so long since the original anime that I thought we'd never see a new series come out...color me excited.

Still baffled why people are losing their shit over Heavely Paranoia & Hell's Playground and not Otaku Elf, but was happy when Oshi no Ko immediately got a second season.
Hopefully, new Spice & Wolf ends up like the reboot of Fruits Basket and they adapt most of the existing material, but since S&W has so much more content, that would take like 70+ episodes... which sadly seems unlikely.

Spice and Wolf! Holey... Thats some great news. I could gush about how much I love the series, or what came out here state side, but i shouldnt. Ok I will a little. The character voices amd depiction of the characters is memorable, the music and is good or at least the AMVs people have made, the ins and outs of the economics they go through, the philosophy they give, the shinto aspect of the world, the development of romance amd relationship between characters, the fan service... And the mature attitude of the characters. Please let this get done properly.

Not surprised Viz is raising prices, they have been notably cheaper than other publishers for ages.
The sluggishness feels like her, the look doesn't, yes ears but just so much difference from memory it looks/feels off.
Only time will tell if this is wisest of wolf quality.
I prefer the old art style. Holo's face looks wrong. I prefer the old music style too. It should be medieval style, not 'swirling and epic'. I love the anime, manga and light novels - they're all ten out of ten and favourites on MAL for me - but I'm much less excited for this reboot that I would have been for a season three. I reckon I'll be skipping it.
I mean... I WOULD have liked a Spice & Wolf S3, as lonmg as the new show goes beyond what was shown originally then I would be fine with it. And as long as they don't go the way of the Trigun Remake, I did not like that one very much.If they included a bit more of the source material as well could be cool. Since there were no sign of a season three I as many others it seemed tracked down the light novels and lo and behold they skipped a few stories. Of course some of them could be tacked on later, it is not as if any other shows have told things out of order and truth be told most of the skipped book stories might not be that important for the overarking plot of the series but... Show me MORE than the sparse two seasons showed us originally. Please? 🙂

Dude spice and wolf was probably one of the first anime i watched. Im soo hype!
I'm a bit iffy about the animation studio of the new SaW, I really don't like the lighting in the trailer, everything looks too bright, characters just radiate light (and it's white light, not the light that comes from the candles/fire :( ) and the colors look a bit washed up, the edges of the objects aren't solid too.
But I hope it'll be good, the LNs are by far my fav piece of fiction.
