Not really a single video idea / request, but I would like to watch a rating climb series. Go from like 500-2000 or 800-2300, what ever you can comfortably get to in a reasonable time frame. Maybe make it its own playlist so its easy to find / doesnt get lost in a 100+ hippo playlist. Thank you.

Video Idea: Hippo against f4 I neither found a video of yours explaining how to play the hippo against the Bird nor against the concept of f4 as center control in the opening/early/middle game. And I (as a Birdy-Hippo enthusitrust) am trusting my Bird against the Hippo very well. I of course could be the idiot (afterall I am playing by intuition not calculated. So.... No surprise there....) and have missed the videos on those topics.... If so I would love to know when or in which video you discussed these themes PS: This of course has a "mirror concept", i.e. c4 in the opening/early/middle, which would also be interesting, although I am rarely fighting against that, f4 seems to be preferred.
Wheeze honk!!! I think the best video for the 100th would be to tell us that there will be 100 more! A really long time ago you told me you were aiming for 100 vids in the series so I guess Gratz are in order for achieving that goal. However it really saddens me that I'll not wake up to find a hippo vid waiting for me. I guess I will just go back and restart the series to mine those nuggets of wisdom that I missed when I was not so well versed with the opening. To anyone rather new to the hippo watch the series and to continue your studies get the book The Hippopotamus defense by Alessio de Santes. I guess that's all . Love ya bro
100th video suggestion: looking at when white has 3 or 4 pawns in center and threatening to push f5, and is in blacks best interest not to have usual 10 move setup. Some positions computer recommends a d5 to assert control and get white to commit. Otherwise breather moment positions when when there is no bishop stacking or obvious flank push. Sometimes d5 or e5 looks best. Thanks
I've been waiting for another Hippo Masterclass! These are really great! 🦛 I really like how flexible the Hippo is. If you're familiar with the positions you usually get, it'll be like dragging your opponent through a swamp where only you know the way out. The Hippo can get really violent when the opportunity presents itself, just like real-life Hippos!
First, I'd like to say that I really appreciate all the content you shared on the Hippo! It helped tremendously improve in so many aspects of my game, not just this opening, so thank you for all that already! About the 100th video, I agree with many about the idea of some kind of speedrun, or at least, you playing many games against lower opposition! Because most of us are not facing 2000+ rated player, like ever, so it would be cool to see how to exploit early mistakes by our opponents when they have really no clue of what is going on! Also, and that could maybe count as a suggestion for more videos down the line too, that could be the opportunity to have content against 1-pawn center openings (London, Colle, Bird, Reti/English, ...), hypermodern openings with no central pawns at all, the Stonewall, ... that I think can be more common in low level online games. I mean, it feels like it was a given in the first 99 videos that our opponent will build at least a 2-pawn center, but "our" reality in the depth of the online ladder is really different! 😂 Anyway, looking forward to the 100th video in any case! And here's to 100 more in the future! 🥂🦛
For the 100th video, you could play the hippo with viewers or people that have your course. Anything community related would be cool!

Love the hippo and your course! My vote is for a hippo speedrun series start video for the 100th.

You could do a hippo speedrun for the 100th❤
100th video could be the start of a 100 to 2000 elo speedrun series
Still hoping to see a Hippo Speed Run. 800-2000 as Black and White. Something like that. Or maybe some tournament games from your run at the IM title.

This video inspired me to take up the hippo again. Thank you.

Hello,I really like the hippo so I'll be glad to see even more videos about this opening!
You could create videos like this with strong GM games.
love it tcg! please keep showing love to the hippo!
Am I having a great day? Well, it just got better!

You showed me the hippo and I love it. For video 100 you should showcase my games to show how not to play it

Maybe go to a zoo, touch some grass and meet a hippo for the 100th?
😂
At 2:40 what would the game plan be for black if white plays nxg6 and tries to steamroll black on the kingside?
