I have incorporated Adam's teachings over the past year and have dramatically improved my game. I shot my first under par round at 4 under because of Porzak golf. Simply the best instruction on TH-cam!
Adam I started playing golf a little over a year ago. I took 3 lessons to start and have been scouring all of youtube for help. After all this time your videos have finally helped things click for me. Now I am finally seeing what I practice out on the golf course. I still have ways to go but I just wanted to stop and mention how much I appreciate the way you teach. I will continue to follow as I keep learning. Thank you.
For many years, I've been dealing with a shortened lead leg while playing, tirelessly searching for instructors and online resources to address my leg length discrepancy, but without any success-until I came across your guidance. The hip bump, as the initial setup correction, effectively rectifies both the spine angle and the misalignment of the shoulders and hips that often accompany leg length discrepancies. I'm truly grateful for your validation that this is a common issue among golfers and for your innovative solution to help us overcome it.
Very important that you mentioned the shorter leg. Big difference now with interpretation. I’m the opposite with leg length and I’m left eye dominant. It makes a difference in setup, big time. Most people including teachers ignore my pleas for its importance. Thanks
This setup , turn 0:32 drill is MONEY. Makes do much sense and takes away the reason for swaying to shift weight. Its a keeper. Love your drills Adam. ❤
You have answered my question about the Stack and Tilt. Turning around that post makes so much sense. I have deleted all my golf TH-cam videos expects yours. And that took a few minutes. Thanks.
This is a great video as others I have seen regarding hip rotation (I'm a lefty) talk about turning your front knee "around the corner" during the downswing for proper rotation. That move, in my case, seems to require another unnecessary timing mechanism. Where your fromt leg post seems to naturally lead to proper hip rotation...good stuff!
Adam, I discovered your videos a few months ago. I'vej watched nearly all of your channel archives. Love your teaching of the fundamentals, articulation and positive energy. I like the "back to the basics" approach of emphasizing fundamentals. Especially like your passionate work with talented junior & collegiate players. Would love to see some more clips of lessons with mid handicap 50+ students, too. How the weight shifts in the swing is critical. Such a challenge for most not just to do, but to understand and correctly feel. So I'm loving this video with Todd! Question: What drill(s) would you recommend for the following player profile and issue(s)? * 50 Y.O. 6'3" semi-fit player * Right leg length discrepancy (shorter) with weaker right glute with healing labral tear * Two way miss from tendency to "collapse" the right knee and "hang back" (ie leave weight) on right side, into and through impact. * Player miss tendency is the dreaded two way miss of occasional big block cuts, or pull hooks sent out of play and leading to one-three big, soul crushing numbers per 18 round. * Player "early extends/moves pelvis into the ball" at impact. Complains of "feeling to steep" in the downswing and "stands up out of spine angle" to flatten the shaft/"drop it into the slot" Keep up your awesome work. Would love to come take a lesson sometime.
Adam, first of all I love your instruction, professionalism and energy. You mentioned your left leg being a little shorter. My right leg is 2 inches shorter than my left. I’m a great driver of the golf ball and a massively high ball hitter with just about every club. It’s very easy for me to stay behind the ball but I obviously struggle getting to my lead side. I also wear an orthotic to mitigate the length difference a little but do you have any “feels” or setup suggestions to help? I’ve been through a few instructors and never really found the “solution”. Thank you in advance if you have the opportunity to respond.
I love the bump, I used to stack and tilt and got the worst shanks ever. Bumping allows me to shift my weight effortlessly without trying to counter balance my body. I went to a coach previously that had instant video feedback and I would lead forward to counter balance taking the club away and then try to time the downswing/impact.
I added this to my saved list and am going to watch it again. I’ve been trying to incorporate the hip bump into my setup and routine. Really tough for someone who’s always been on thier heels.
That was once my normal move, with the advent of all the information out there I've gotten away from it. Thanks for the refresher --Keep up the good work
Proźak, Thank you about Hip Bump, finally understood with standing straight and turning around. In back turn, spine base goes 4" towards target and Sternum 3" away in opposite direction. You are pre setting tail bone by Hip Bump. Thank you.
I spent 3 years trying to learn Stack & Tilt, including getting lessons from both Andy and Mike. Both are really great guys and Mike is a ball hitting machine. That being said, S&T ruined my game! Because of my S&T background, what your video starts to explain at 1:33 with regard to getting your right hip pocket to go back and your "weight" going to the right is very difficult for me to do. I tend to "hang" on my left side because of the S&T influence. I'm going to try the lead leg swing drill you demonstrate at 7:10 and see if that will help me feel what posting on my left hip feels like, without falling back into my old bad S&T habits. 🙏
Really like the approach you are teaching! Your videos are awesome to learn from. What would you consider more benefitial to start with: Masterclass or Online Lessons/Swing Analysis?
Great video as usual. Any chance of one on how the right shoulder moves during the downswing. Even though I strike the ball reasonably well, I can't keep it from coming out instead of down!
That setup video really helped me. Idk but for me just forcing myself to keep the proper stance width for the club I was hitting really helped me control my low points I never hit so many clean iron shots and took such easy nice divots before. Thank you again
Even if I don’t have a great bump. Getting that left hip over and back keeps me from swaying. Turning on that post is so much easier. Again great video
My left leg is 1/2 - 3/4 inch shorter as well. I wear an orthotic in my golf shoes. I sometimes have my left heel up a fraction because of this. Thanks for pointing that out!
Adam's videos are very helpful. I am now flirting with shooting my age which is 69. With any luck, I might reach this milestone by the end of the year. Recently I have shot 70 twice.
I feel like a little fan girl saying this on all his videos but trully the best online golf instruction. Now I just need an excuse to take a trip to San Diego 😎
Been working on stuff similar, I've found that bad golfers including myself when I'm playing bad have loud feet. You can kind of get by with it with driver but watching pros I don't see a lot of foot lift with irons but it's always taught as a bandaid if you can't rotate lift your foot etc. But really if you stay grounded like you are it's more powerful
Excellent again, i just wish i had the flexibility at almost 70 to turn my left shoulder over right foot, can only point at ball, without my arms collapsing, and narrowing width, which is why i play with 3/4 swing back and through
Hi Adam, been playing great with your videos except 2-3 shanks per round. And they mostly show up when I try to leave weight forward as to not sway. Any tips?
What an awesome difference. I am a single digit handicap and suddenly I have the ultimate trajectory. The most important thing I discovered is after I bump the hip is to be sure to swing around my spine.
One thing that I’m still not exactly sure about is the release right at impact? Hit hard by straightening the right arm? Release the wrist with right arm slightly bent? Could you please address this? Thx
When you see videos of the top pros you do see minimal lateral shifts in the backswing and swing. Is this a diferent type of swing you see the top pros do?
When the top pros are attempting to have a 120 mph club head speed with driver, it is natural to see a slight sway. But for any other club the top pros attempt to stay centered!
Staying connected does not mean keeping the arms pinned to the side. Being connected means having the hands and the body's center aligned throughout the swing! Try watching this video to understand how to stay connected: th-cam.com/video/mvKt3E5gAoM/w-d-xo.html
This setup is a game changer, but for some reason I struggle to actually do the hip bump and then turn correctly. Days where I have it working are usually my best rounds. Days when it's off are a tough scene.
Lol, I call my hips, happy hips, because I used them forward so hard, I slide or bump them past my lead leg, I don’t take full advantage of posting correctly and losing so much power. I just it’s a amazing I play in the lower to mid 70’s.
Hey Adam, “push off the brace” - is a trail foot push that initiates the downswing? I’m used to a slight lateral shift to get pressure to lead side but as you don’t do this I’m wondering what I should be trying to do. You say here that the upper body turn is what transfers the weight, but kinematically we need to start the downswing with the lower body, right? Thanks 🙏
It might have seemed that way but Todd and I were going back and forth teaching other our own concepts through this whole series. Todd gave me the foundation and after 25000+ lessons, I was able to tweak the teachings he gave me into my own. I cant wait for you to hear many more concepts that Todd teachings in the upcoming videos!
You need to study hogan, you want to play him? Didn't think so, you only get an 85 degree shoulder turn, hogan and I get 3 inches behind tush line and a shallow move then a rotation and lateral move like hogan! You do nothing like hogan. The pivot is rotation and rotation and lateral, 3 inches behind tush line, much more space for the arms!, the big shoulder turn u don't have is rotation, extension and left side bend of right shoulder for activation of 100 degrees shoulder turn plus!!
You need to study Ricky fowler, he does the hogan stuff! You can't beat rf because you haven't unleashed the true power of the body, your method is 75% power of human body? Want to play Ricky? Didnt think so...can u drive with him? No and he's smaller than u, unleash the human body!!

Me too! The best.

We have the rest of August with Todd! So many more video coming your way!

My teacher in Scottsdale, Welk, gave me the left leg drill to work on this week for different reasons. Universal concept. Thanks!
This video was an a-ha event for me. Excellent explanation and drills. Thank you.

Another awesome golf lesson! You’re the best of the very best! Thank you so much for your passion for the game and sharing it with everyone! 👏👏👏😍❤️
PERFECT drill for me at this moment... thanks Adam!
😊😊😊. Great video. Watched Adams rotation over and over again.
This setup drill is MONEY. Makes do much sense and takes away the reason for swaying to shift weight. Its a keeper. Love your drills Adam.

Are you keeping pressure on the left heel throughout the swing?
Even if I don’t have a great bump. Getting that left hip over and back keeps me from swaying. Turning on that post is so much easier. Again great video
Wow 👌 👏 unbelievable!! These guys are the best of the best !!
We appreciate it!! Thank you so much

Awesome video , thanks
No thank you!!
Is a good feel to try and keep your left hip high on the backswing? As a righty.
Any plan to revisit fairway woods (3-5-7)? Going from the good setup from driver, woods, long iron to wedge… 🙏🏻
Guys another amazing video
We appreciate you Peter! See You soon
Is there a negative off too much hip bump?
If somebody has 1 video of golf to watch… it is this one!!!
Hey Adam recently I have been hitting my driver and woods on the heel of the face. What drill/video would help with that
Adam's videos are very helpful. I am now flirting with shooting my age which is 69. With any luck, I might reach this milestone by the end of the year. Recently I have shot 70 twice.

Love the bump , how far can you guys hit driver doing this?
FARTHER THAN THOSE WHO DONT! LOL
Rotation speed is always better than lateral movement. i.e. like throwing a punch
@@PorzakGolf 💡💡💡
Presetting the post is so much easier. A lot of pros set it during the back swing. I am not a pro so I will do it this way.
When you bump your hip are you bumping it slightly up?
What an awesome difference. I am a single digit handicap and suddenly I have the ultimate trajectory. The most important thing I discovered is after I bump the hip is to be sure to swing around my spine.
I'm also 80 yrs old and hit the ball like a much younger man. Also blind in my left eye and play right handed. Other than that I'm just fine.
@@denniscasey284 - Yeah, right. 🙄

I am always chocked how wide you have your feet… as a 6’4” tall guy… I fell bizarre when I play my iron with a wide stance… work on progress 😜
Always make sure you get fitted for your club especially for someone as tall as you!
@@PorzakGolfyes of course… I did (fitted on Ping i-230)

I just struggle with feeling comfortable with this hip bump part of the porzak method. Everything else feels awesome but bumping makes me feel alward
so awesome to hear two epic coaches get thier personal feels, will try both on the range and see what works best for the course
Both work great! Let us know which one sticks for you!

I've never seen anyone do that bump thing until I saw Lucas Glover. Before every single shot he bumps his hips and that acts as his takeaway trigger
It hurts my hips afterwards. Maybe I’m doing it incorrectly
Interesting. I only wish you gave Todd more space. He just stands at your side while you explain what he taught you.
