I love the placement of the portal in this so much. It forces you to watch the steel plates slam into the platform as if it were a cutscene without actually locking you out. It’s entirely cinematic but you never lose control

This is easily one of the best pseudo-QTEs in gaming. No locking the keyboard, you still have full interactivity, but the game controls it to prompt you to hit the specific buttons they want. You look back at the mashy-spike-plates and you don't think "holy shit I wasnt expecting those buttons", instead you think "holy shit I did all of that" This is the kind of game design that puts you among the best games of all time, 11 years after release. The memes are just the side dish as well, hilarious stuff

This gets even funnier if you listen to him when tells you to jump. He is genuinely surprised you feel for it. You get an achievement for it. Or hell his reaction for when you return when he asks you come back. This game is hilarious.

This is one of my favorite parts in portal 2. The parts where go behind the test chamber are portals strongest aspects because you are using the portal gun in a practical setting. There is no cubes and buttons only escape. I wish there was a full game of going behind aperture with the portal gun or alternately a game that uses the portal gun practically like this

The timing of this is a little off on modern hardware, because when the game was released people generally didn't have super fast Internet connections. So you'd get the achievement notice and audible chime a moment or two after the chapter title appeared as a perfectly timed continuation of the joke.
Fun fact: the thing that flings you into chapter 9 is actually a beta faith plate, and it's bounce animation doesn't work because it was removed from the game
