Who knows what the product requirements were for this generator but as an engineer I want to think the Generac engineers got together and said "let's make a 3kw generator quieter than the EU3000is for 1/2 the price" and they nailed it. The slight misalignment with the exhaust and the hole for it in the back plastic makes me wonder if someone came up with a quieter muffler design after the tooling of the plastic was already committed to. The big question is will it last as long as an EU3000is.

Or would you have to run extensions through out the the house ? I'm new to al this, moving to Puerto Rico and I'm researching my options, but don't want to spend a ton of money since I'm in City Limits and from what neighbors tell me we don't loose power frequently. So they say!
According to Generac, their generators and engines are designed and built in the United States, specifically in Wisconsin. Generac also designs and manufactures their G-FORCE and OHVI engines.
Great review Gavin. I’ve read claims that the internals of the generac 3500 and the predator 3500 are nearly identical. Do you believe they are the same minus the steel frame? Is the generac really quieter than the predator?
I saw side by side photos in someone's review and they indeed where the same internals. The review was on Amazon and the guy was pissed because he paid almost double for the generac because he didn't want the predator "junk" LOL.

Hi Gavin, so I’m trying to decide between this generator and the champion 4500 dual fuel. I want the dual fuel option of the champion but I’m willing to buy an aftermarket kit for the generac just due to the sheer QUIETNESS of the generac. I guess my question is how much quieter is the generac exactly? Any information would be appreciated:) Also, I don’t care about the generac not having wheels at all. As far as I’m concerned that’ll make it harder to steal.
My only issue with upgrading a generator is the three-year warranty I’m pretty sure it’s voided after any updates or upgrades The Generac is quieter but it’s not enough to make me change my mind over dual fuel. you picked two really good Generators
@@whosnext2005 I wish this would’ve been available last fall :(. So, if you want ultimate quiet AND dual fuel the Generac IQ3500 with the propane kit that I linked would be the perfect set up.

Hi Gavin, Excellent demo. I have recommended your channel to others. We are looking for a generator like this one to power our home when our electricity is shut off due to fires in California. I say when because we know it will happen. Severe drought means less electricity available. Severe winds means worse fires and the beat goes on. Can you recommend a generator that is as high quality and as quiet as this Generac that can also be recharged with solar? I am anticipating several days without electricity. We are a family of 4 and ideally I'd like to be able to keep refrigerator running and the ability to wash and dry clothes, cook, run some fans (not all at the same time of course). Anyway, I thought your demo was so meticulously designed that I would ask you. I have looked on Generac's website but they don't have a generator that can be recharged using solar. Reaching out for your recommend. Take care and thank you. Christine

Good evening, Gavin. Wow....I am almost shocked at the results of this demo!! When I think of quiet, it usually does not include Generac. I really like how you progressively escalate the electrical loads on these tests. My only objections for this set up are the heavier weight than most other 3000+w generators and no wheels exacerbates the heavier weight. This son of a gun is relatively heavy. But, I'd consider it a contender if I opt for the 3kw ranged set up. Safe travels!
Yessir it’s heavier than most 3k gens but I guess the metal construction helps with the sound dampening, so I’m going to install a wheel kit and see if it helps with mobility. Thanks buddy

Hi Gavin, Very informative video. If you want to power a refrigerator, on AC and some emergency lighting to run form inside the house can you plug this into your power box? Or would you have to run extensions through out the the house ? I'm new to al this, moving to Puerto Rico and I'm researching my options, but don't want to spend a ton of money since I'm in City Limits and from what neighbors tell me we don't loose power frequently. So they say!
So they say! You would have to install a transfer switch to connect to the box or run extension cord.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the subscribe
It would be nice if you would report gas tank capacity in your reviews. I like your reviews.
Thanks Rick
Don’t forget to check the description for more information and links.
Hello. The Generac is made in the USA or China? Thank you. Great video!
Thanks
I will have to check it out I’ve not heard that one. Let me check both generators and I’ll respond later
I saw side by side photos in someone's review and they indeed where the same internals. The review was on Amazon and the guy was pissed because he paid almost double for the generac because he didn't want the predator "junk" LOL.
Does it start at -30C ?😊
You won’t find me anywhere near that temperature
Sir, Is it better to buy two of these generators or buy one 7.5 kW Generac? I'm undecided for backup. The price is not that much of the different.
The most important thing is the voltage, the small generator won’t have 240v for home backup.
Do you need 240v?
What kind of fridge are you using? Is it a 120v residential fridge? I’m looking to replace my 2 way absorption fridge with a larger one, either 12v or 120v compressor type. Thanks!
My fridge is a residential refrigerator 120 V compressor type
I'd like a comparison to the predator 3500.
You got it!
I’ll start working on a comparison video
Really love your info that you put out . . Was looking for my first inverter that I can keep as back up my home . . Dual fuel would be nice and around 4000 to 4500 watts with mobile options . . Thanks i Really appreciate your recommendations for an inverter . .
Thanks
I’m doing a dual fuel lineup of inverter generator for my next video series you’ll probably like 👍🏾
Great video Gavin! Thank you!
Thanks for doing the review
Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍🏾
@@GeneratorReviews hi again , how do you connect RV AC to a honda eu2200i cause honda eu2200i doesn't have 30Amp plug
Panel looks similar to the Predator 3500, not sure which one is quieter though. No wheel kit is uncommon for these style of generator.
The IQ3500 it’s definitely a lot quieter by far
Awesome! I’m sold on this generator. Gavin I know ask you some questions before. But I spoke with generac sales person. He wanted me upgrade to larger one. But I’m looking for something for like power outage only for home. Something can handle a home refrigerator, a electric heater, possibly t.v just check things and turn it off. Use microwave but I would unplug heater or something that I don’t need on. I feel this seems it will do job. Thanks!
Yep this should have enough power to manage your power needs
Even a 12k window A/C
so how long will this run on a tank?
The 2.6 gallon fuel tank gives the iq3500 a very nice 8.9 hour run time at around 50% load.
awesome RV!!!!
Thanks 🙏🏾
Hi does this have a parallel kit?
Yes it does have a parallel kit and the Generac 3500 is parallel capable here’s a link to Amazon
amzn.to/3NU1xV7
Another great job! Is your a/c a 13.5 or 15K ? Thank you and keep up the good work...
Thanks!
My AC’s are 13500 with soft start installed
@@GeneratorReviews Would love to see a demo of the Honda FI 7000 Inverter. (I really like the way you put together real world situations. Some youtubers like to see themselves on screen to much for me, but you really do a great job with knowledge transfer.) Thanks, tf
@@tommyfife4411 😅 Thanks glad you like my vids
Let me find the Honda 7000 and I’ll review it
Thanks
Helpful, thank you
How much BTU’s is the a/c unit you turned on ?
13500 BTU
@@GeneratorReviews thanks for the info man!!🙏🏻
Great, thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and subscribing
Nice review bro, do u think its simple to add remote start to it?
Yep I think the remote start kit for the Honda 3000w would definitely work on this one
My only issue with upgrading a generator is the three-year warranty I’m pretty sure it’s voided after any updates or upgrades
The Generac is quieter but it’s not enough to make me change my mind over dual fuel.
you picked two really good Generators
@@GeneratorReviews Thank you! That’s about the direction I was leaning towards as well.
This is the exact same predicament I'm in now. Did you end up getting the champion or the generac and what are your thoughts?
@@whosnext2005 I wish this would’ve been available last fall :(. So, if you want ultimate quiet AND dual fuel the Generac IQ3500 with the propane kit that I linked would be the perfect set up.
@@tommytmt so did you go with the generac then I take it?
Thank you
What model Honda is that?
That is the Honda eu3000is
Gavin, what do you think about the Firman #T07571 tri-fuel generator from Costco? We are thinking about buying one for our parents and each for our sisters. Thank you and we wish you health and happiness 🙏
Looks like a well built Generator I like the tri option for fuel. Not closed frame but looks good
Its pretty noisy. Good generator but the neighbors will hear it.
Christine
Hi Christine
Thanks for watching the channel and subscribing and sharing all truly appreciated.
OK if you’re looking for a solar generator something you can run inside and recharge with Solar check this link out if that’s not what you’re looking at please reach out and let me know

Thank my man very good very good video I recommend it
I know it's more watts, but I'd like to see the IQ3500 vs the Cummins Onan 4500
Ok I will make it happen 👍🏾
Great channel. I subscribed @@GeneratorReviews
100+ pounds and no wheels??? Engineers must all be in their 20s to design it like that.
Cool
Great video
Gavin thank you for your help. I just purchased this generator. Only took me few weeks to decide. This maybe stupid question. I’m new to this generator thang. What bout weather conditions with this generator. Like rain etc. wasn’t sure need buy like cover for it or put cover over it. I leave in Houston tx. We don’t get very cold weather but the rain I was more talking bout. Thanks 😊
I’m working on a video right now for the generator cover for rain and snow I’ll release the 2000w version first and then I’m gonna do the 3500-4500 cover next
Between this and Cummins 4500 what one would you recommend I have a Honda eu3000 right now but it’s getting old and will over load all the time with my trailer if I run the AC so I’m looking for something bigger and reliable thanks
Thanks for watching
If you need the extra power then the 4500 would work for you but if you’re use to the quite generator you should definitely get the generac IQ3500
What about installing way? Very good advertising for generac I t believe it
Most important question: how reliable is that generac versus that honda? I'm so sick of buying crap that stops working in a few years.
I think this one can run side-by-side with the Honda They both have warranty three years and they are time tested I have no doubt this is a great Generator

Thanks Shane ✨✨
