My go to for every card I make is my wink of stella. When I write in my cards I go over it with my wink of Stella. I have had so many compliments. Glossy accent is my second favorite product. A girl can never have to many Stickles and embossing powders. My crafting is all about the SPARKLE.
@@sarahmartini13 if I write with my cricut pens without glitter I will just trace over it, if I do a print then cut for big bold sentiments I trace over those too. The shimmer is just beautiful.
Great tips and products! I just ordered a set of the color PoPs and I can’t wait to try these ideas. My favorite (and cheap) embellishment is my mini glue gun using glitter or colored glue sticks. I can make “wax seals” or even draw shapes with it on waxed paper. Then I just pop them off and use them with a dab of regular glue to hold them down. I made spiderwebs with black glue sticks, and lollipops with bright color sticks. The glue sticks are everywhere- Walmarts, hobby stores, Amazon, AliExpress. Love this mini series of videos! TFS!
You can also sink a rubber stamp into the melted glue and when cooled pull out for an impression in the glue. I use black a lot and add stickles to the impression and rub’n’buff to the top of the glue. U can glue in glitter and tiny beads and charms, too. I usually do that on scrap cardboard and then glue the finished piece to my cards.
Hey there, I don’t know if you check all of your comments but I have just found you! I have enjoyed all of the videos of yours that I have watched so far and I am planning to watch all of them! Thank you so much for all of your crafty ideas, your dollar tree hacks, just everything! It is so appreciated that you care enough to share all the information that you do! God bless you!
I do! I check all my comments. Oh you just made my week, thank you for taking the time for me like that. I appreciate it more than you know. And THANK you for hanging out with me.
Agreed 💯! I once painted a peacock die cut with Nuvo drops and it was so pretty. For the white gel pen and clear gloss, I put my gel pen on top of the gloss when it’s finished drying. Just to help with the 3D look. TFS! 😊
Pops of Color are my favorites also. I also love love love Simon Hurleys Lunar Paste! My favorite white pen are the Arteza ones. Several sizes. Thank you for this awesome video. Love to watch you and I learn a lot from you.
Only thing I noticed missing was any type of string/thread/ribbon. I have a dozen or more spools of vintage silk thread from my great grandmother that I often use to add a little something, and ribbons can add so much. Great video! Loved that you showed different ways to use stuff. I have a snow pen, but really didn't think about using it for anything but snow lol
You absolutely are this creative! Sometimes I just have to sit with my products and just think about all the uses I could use instead of just what others have shown me. Give that a try
Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it and I was hoping it would be good for all levels. It certainly was a great reminder for me even when I was editing the video
These are great ideas. I remember stickles from years ago, they really were a thing. But I always seemed to smear it on my project. I'll have to try them again, now that I'm a mature, more disciplined crafter! That's funny. I did use some little clay embellishment's from Queen & company on holidays cars, peppermints & snowmen, that might be my new favorite. I will have to try some of these products with stencils, such a good idea. TFS
You have made such beautiful cards! They all are wonderful techniques. The easiest for me would be the pops spread across the card. ❤️ Thank you for sharing!
Very nice tutorial - interesting, informative, hands-on illustrative, and so much fun! It was very easy to follow- not too fast and not too slow. Nicely done!
Thank you Mary. I'm always amazed of how other people use the products most of us have. Love the idea of using the whiteout pen for snow. Who knew?!! I did order the Penny Platypus stamp and die set. It's on the retiring list on Honey Bee and on sale price. Yay me!
This is an excellent video. Often people talk about their favorite things but don't demonstrate what they do. If I've never heard of that particular product them just showing it in the video doesn't really cut it. In a recent video the lady said she loved her Imagine, and I still have no idea what that it is or does. Also love that she shows more than one way to use the product.
So glad I found this video in September of 2022. The platypus is my favorite animal and that stamp is just adorable. I hopped over to the Honey Bee site to look at it to discover it's being retired. I ordered that set and 3 others that were also on the way out and I'm so happy! Thank you! The other recommendations are wonderful as well and I've added a few of them to my ever-growing craft wishlist. As the saying goes, I'm not just a crafter, I'm a collector of craft supplies. 😀👍
We share some favorites. I LOVE Color Pops. They are consistent in the way they perform and the colors (especially the pearlized ones) are absolutely dreamy. I also love Stickles - nothing adds a Christmas touch like Stickles. Have also added many "stitches" and accents with a white Gelly Roll pen. Another favorite of mine is Wink of Stella which adds just the right amount of shimmer. Thanks for the demos - I never thought about using white out, and didn't know snow pens existed - another addition to my shopping list.
Love all the different possibilities one product can offer! I love how you think outside the box! Your cards and coloring examples are truly stunning! Thank you 😊
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! My fav was the Nuevo drops used like the rain box on the paper. But so many great ideas! My problem is I need videos to help me think OUTSIDE THE BOX! LOL THANK YOU FOR A GREAT VIDEO!
Wow, very different, useful and informative video! So many ideas and techniques I’ve never seen before. I’m excited to try some of them. Thanks very much for sharing.
I can't say it's a favorite, per se, just because I don't do it all the time, but one thing I like to do sometimes is stitch on cards & scrapbook layouts. Whether I use my sewing machine or do it by hand depends on the project & how precise I need to be. Thank you for sharing these products & different techniques to use with them. I have never thought of icicles from Stickles! I hope the year has gotten off to a good start for you, & that you're enjoying retirement. Kind of slow & a bit dull for me, but I credit at least part of that to my depression. Sigh! Though I did manage to make 28 Valentine's cards over the past couple of weeks to donate to Send a Smile 4 Kids, which serves children who are inpatients in children's hospitals, so I guess that's something. Anyway, thank you again for sharing. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Thank you so much for sharing; I would love to stitch on my cards I'll have to try it. You should feel so great about spreading that kind of love out to the world; wow! I need to do something like that. It usually helps me mentally.
The windshield, 🤦♀️! I never thought of that! Duh! Penny the platypus!!!! I have a stickles problem, but - icicles!!! Again, never thought of that! Thanks so much for all the great ideas! I've been buying the nail art shapes, like hearts and snowflakes....they're inexpensive and great in shakers, plus they're great when you just need small embellies on a card. They compliment other embellishments really well. Amazon has lots. Again, thanks for this! ❤❤❤
Another way I like to use crystal/clear glaze: i will punch small circles out of cardstock scraps and add the glaze on top. Then I have custom "enamel" dots that perfectly match my project.
Thanks Mary, great video as usual. So many possibilities, can’t wait to try them all. And by the way thank you for the video on black inks. You helped me find the blackest, juiciest, archival, alcohol ink friendly and fast drying ink pad-My Favorite Things Extreme Black Ink. I loved how you stamped with them and how you showed how dark and thick the images looked. I had been searching for a good rich ink, my new all time favorite for sure. 😊
THANK YOU for sharing your ideas...many of which are ones I used to do many years ago but have gotten away from. You have encouraged me to dig out my "tiny bottles"
Great must try embellishments video 🥰 I love the way you use your embellishments. I use glossy accent most of all, I have a snow pen, but I haven't tried it yet 🙃 ❤ thanks for sharing and happy crafting Hugs xx
Good to know as I have some of these items that came in kits that I didn't really know what to do with them. Well now I know thanks to you. Thanks for this very interesting video💓💓💓
I recently found slime add ins, not really sure what to call them but they are great as shaker goodies and are so much cheaper than store bought ones. They come in a variety of styles and designs. I bought them at a local handmade pop up shop near me. I'll have to see if I can find more of them online somewhere....
Hi. It’s Deb from dallas. Great ideas for using all these products. I need to start using all these products to add details. I’m not good at thinking about details. What a difference though!
Thanks for this video! I have bought quite a few of the products and/or types of products you demonstrated, but I rarely if ever use them. I am getting some of them out today!
Great video with such amazing ideas. Sorry if I missed it, but I am interested in seeing the how you created those squares you outlined with white, @2:12. Thanks.
Hi Mary 🙋♀️. I've been watching your vids for several months now and even tho I make junk journals I have learned lots of cool stuff watching you. I have a question - or maybe I missed something - I stopped the vid a few minutes in to go stamp squares on black cardstock and outline with my white gel pen but it didn't work out so well... the inks I used were Distress Inks by Ranger and showed no color, then the white "stitches" didn't show up on the ink stamped squares either (but it was great on the black paper. What'm I doing or not doing? 🤷♀️ Be gentle with me when you say, "Uh... HELLO!!" 🤦♀️ 😳🥺 😁🤣 I will tell you the whole affair looks GREAT on white with black pen! Thank in advance. Smiles from the southern California desert, MK 😀 🏜
You can make your own shimmer pen by filling an aqua pen with shimmer spray! I make my own shimmer spray by mixing a small amount (about 1/8 teaspoon to 4 oz.) of pearl colored (or silver or gold) acrylic craft paint into rubbing alcohol. Works like a charm and doesn’t come off because the paint has a binder in it. I mix it in a spray bottle to use on larger areas or to make my own shimmer card stock. You can also put it in a container and just paint it on with a brush. Happy crafting!❤️
Great video, Mary! I love the Wink of Stella glitter brush pen, too, but I find myself reaching most often for my Gelly Roll Glitter Pen... I can add just the slightest hint of sparkle just where I need it and get the impact I'm going for - give it a try!!!!
These tips are amazing! I have the Nuvo Drops, but haven't used them much. I wanted to make enamel dots on acetate, but they spread out too much. Maybe I didn't do it right. Thank you, Mary!
I've never tried them on acetate but it also might have something to do with the temperature. Try making them on a silicone sheet, let them harden and then glue them to your projects. That might help.
All neat ideas! But, I'm just using what I have, and trying not to fall in the trap of buying everything other folks say I Need to buy. 😏 I have white gel pens, and a white out pen, so I will make those do. Thanks!
I received 2 bottles of the Pops of Color as a freebie with a Christmas order. Red & green; can’t remember where I stuck them. But they stunk. Terrible smelling. I can’t see myself using them for this reason. Do they normally smell? Was it a fluke? It really was overwhelming so even if the smell goes away eventually, it was too much for me to work with.
It may be your temperature, not sure if your are in a cold climate or warm but likely if they are too cold they stiffen up causing the kiss effect. Try holding them in your hands for a few min first
My go to for every card I make is my wink of stella. When I write in my cards I go over it with my wink of Stella. I have had so many compliments. Glossy accent is my second favorite product. A girl can never have to many Stickles and embossing powders. My crafting is all about the SPARKLE.

I have white gel pens, and a white out pen, so I will make those do. Thanks!
That's a great idea! Good for you; you do not need it all in my opinion, only what works for your craft.
Could you add that glaze to a paint and get that 3d effect as well?
I suppose but I've never tried. I will have to give that a go for sure
Great tips thank you
Oh thank you so so much
Great video Mary! Thank you so much. xo
My pleasure thank you so much Donna
Thanks for the ideas 👍😊
My pleasure 😊
Hi Mary. So why do you like the Pops of color over the Nuvo drops??
I've always had problems with the consistency of the Nuvo drops, like they were harder coming out. The Pops remind me of warmed up icing.
Awesome video.
YAY thanks for letting me know that!
Great ideas. Love this video ❤️
Thank you so much I really appreciate it Sheila
Thank you for these great tips. I have a lot of stickles but no pops of color. Can I use stickles like pops of color?
I find the stickles don't make round drops but ny other technique, yes
I received 2 bottles of the Pops of Color as a freebie with a Christmas order. Red & green; can’t remember where I stuck them. But they stunk. Terrible smelling. I can’t see myself using them for this reason. Do they normally smell? Was it a fluke? It really was overwhelming so even if the smell goes away eventually, it was too much for me to work with.
Oh no!! Nonive never smelled them but you may be more sensitive to them om which case I say stay away.
You showed me good ideas
Awesome, thanks so much for letting me know!
With the crystal glaze can you use like a window, i usually use plastic sheeting but they can get damage so was just wondering if this would work
Yes I used it on a window in the video; for the car windsheild! LOVE IT
@@marypolancodesigns thank you saw the windscreen it didn't click for me until now lol
Fun! Love the 🌈
Thank you so much I'm here for the rainbows
If you use the clear nail polish from dollar tree it usually takes 2 coats to get the shiny effect
Great to know thank you so much
How do you keep your Pops of Color round? Mine always end up looking like a Hershey’s kiss!
It may be your temperature, not sure if your are in a cold climate or warm but likely if they are too cold they stiffen up causing the kiss effect. Try holding them in your hands for a few min first
@@marypolancodesigns thank you so much! I am in a cold climate so I will definitely try your suggestion!
I want to see more about POPs of Color.
YAY! I have a video for you then: th-cam.com/video/xTDVX8P7mCw/w-d-xo.html
