Traxxas TRX-4M First Look (Bronco and Defender)

- I give you my opinion on the new Traxxas TRX-4M and initial thoughts. This is not a review and is only my first look at the new RC. I also compare the Bronco to the Defender. Thanks for watching.

They are $150 because they 1. Have to be priced competitive to other trucks already on the market 2. Are going for volume sales (I ordered 3 of these, 2 for me and 1 for my friends bday) and want to bring in new customers to the brand and 3. Are counting on people buying hop up parts. Just look at their huge catalog of hop up options. I don't have the truck yet and I have already spent $250+ on their hop-ups and some I haven't been able to buy yet. Will be a $500+ truck and those are just Traxxas parts. Just wait for the 3rd party accessories. If you can resist the temptation to upgrade then the value for money is true and you win! I'm a cash cow for Traxxas.
I ended up grabbing a white bronco and a green defender along with the light kits for each. I'm keeping the bronco in the box for future use, but I'm extremely impressed with the defender. My scx24 is going to collect a lot more dust since I got the trx4-m's.
Right? It’s a great truck. Waiting on my hobby store to unbox their TRX4M parts. Looking forward to checking out the bead lock wheels and aftermarket tires
I got the same colors!! Light kit in Defender only so far. No complaints…
Nice work sir! I am curious, no one’s mentioned this yet at least as far as I know, but roughly how long run time did you get out of the batteries? And are there spare batteries available at the stores yet?
If your hobby store got the TRX4M in then they probably ordered some batteries and parts, so depends on if your store ordered them or not. I didn’t run the truck until it was dead but I’ll mention it in my next vid once I find out. Should be pretty long as with any crawler. Maybe 30 to 45 min
Oooh I think I’m gonna need both. Bronco is gonna outperform the defender by quite a lot (41 degree departure on defender, 48 on bronco, Better CoG, not as top heavy) but the defender definitely looks better on the shelf
100% agreed. The defender looks even better in person
I really want a TRX-4M but they're not gonna be released in Australia until January

No one's talking about it but is it the same battery connector that is on all Traxxas vehicles? Or is it smaller I'm assuming it's the same connector on the battery that all the Traxxas batteries have no one's really said anything about that yet in any of the videos I'm curious LOL the defender is the one I'm going after
I have the Bronco and the battery connector is new to this release.
Yeah should have mentioned that. It’s not the same. It looks like it isn’t shared with any other vehicle. You can find a picture of it on the battery finder portion of the traxxas website
Indeed it needs an interior for more scale appearance
The scx24 bronco interior fits with very very little trimming, just a little tab needs cut off, saw a forum post about it somewhere
Are the bodies interchangeable? Great review
Thank you! Technically they are but you have to swap the bumper assembly as well. You cannot just swap the bodies from truck to truck.
I ordered the bronco, and a defender body, and defender bumpers. I think you just need to change the back bumper
