LMAOO! Finally! I've been waiting for a reactor to have the balls to do this one! You planned this out for her to react to and you reeled her in hook line and sinker!! Hilarious! And she took the high road with her analysis. 5 star reaction! 🤘🏻
Great reaction , I knew the surprise was coming . A little back ground , this is actually a cover song originally done by Anti-Nowhere League as a punk shock song.
When Anti-Nowhere League first released this song back in 1980 in England, the album was banned as obscene and every copy that could be found was confiscated and destroyed by the authorities. Given how every song is an ode to drugs, violence or misanthropy it was punk rock a step too hardcore for the government to deal with.
I love Metallica and I don’t want you to get a bad impression of them so I want to explain the song a bit. They were scheduled to play at the 1996 MTV European Music Awards in London. Later MTV came to them and said “You can’t swear and you can’t use pyrotechnics” This annoyed the band who was prepared to play King Nothing from their new album. However, after MTV said they can’t swear or use pyro they got a different idea. They sang two of the biggest shock songs in history. Last Caress by the Misfits and So What by The Anti-Nowhere League. Both songs were chosen for their shock value as a big 🖕🏻to MTV. MTV banned them
Haha! As soon as I saw this one pop up I had to click on it and watch her reaction. 😂 I remember listening to this as a teen driving around with the windows down blasting this loudly with my friends just to see the people in cars beside us react. This brought back some memories. Some good, some I don’t remember. lol Such a crazy funny cover song originally written by a band called Anti-Nowhere League. It was a track so unexpected from Metallica imo but it’s become a well known one.
Obviously, the song's purpose is to shock. It wasn't necessarily someone singing about what they'd actually done (or maybe it was). However, even if the original intention wasn't to take a sweeping shot at conformity, that's always been my takeaway. To me it says, SO WHAT if you don't like what I've done or what I'm singing about? You have an opinion? SO WHAT?
I think it's their two-fingered salute to mainstream journalism, the fact that they're so interested in divulging things about their personal lives. What better way than to say, "so what"?
Originally done by Anti Nowhere League. It’s mocking the drunken boasting done by pub goers in Britain. And the word cunt isn’t even remotely as offensive there as it is here. It’s actually a common insult, no worse than asshole.
It's been confirmed...by some source on the internet. They're going to play that song at next year's superbowl halftime show. That is if the REAL apocalypse doesn't come before that. Keep it on the down low.
This is such a clean. decent song i wonder why it never got any radio time. Such a great song. The song originally done by the punk band Anti-no whete league. From Britain. You may want to check out another song called Woman. Its everywhere on. TH-cam. Its about husbands perspective on marraige. I think you like that song. Husband check it out first. You going to laugh to point you shit yourself. Its that damn good
Very emotional and inspiring lyrics, it’s a shame the radio never played this. I agree with you. The lyrics have so much heart and meaning. It’s very relaxing
As a non-English person, that was the song that introduced me to the words: Clap (not the one you do with your hands, cunt, twat, lice and all the rest of the "nice" words this song has. I remember me having mixed feelings about this song: a) Why does this song exist? b) Why it has these lyrics? c) Why do I "like" this? d) What is this feeling of disgust and why do I feel it? Note: I was a child back then and pretty much never heard such vulgar words from anything. The worst part is that when I hear something I make it a picture in my mind and imagine what I was going through when I was hearing this song.
This song embodies everything this Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok generation needs to hear....nobody cares what u think or do.. ur not that important!!! And yes, I'm an old metal that didn't give a shit what people thought of me back then and still don't now. U don't effect my life! Everyone now just lives for other people's approval or are to scared about getting cancelled by a weak generation.
When Metallica was on the MTV European Awards show, they were suppose to play "King Nothing", instead they did Misfits' "Last Caress" and Anti-Nowhere League's "So What?" And the end result for Metallica? They got banned, but it was soooo worth it because they couldn't do pyro or swear, and decided to perform two shock songs on live TV, and the end result is definitely worth it
I’ll never the first time I heard Metallica’s cover played unedited on the radio. It was on a station that had a Friday night Metallica spot from 1150-Midnight. They would play one unedited Metallica in the 10 minute slot knowing they were going to be fined by the FCC. At the time (2002) I believe it was $10k for each offense. They played Last Caress and So What using the audio ripped from the 1996 MTV EMA. Up until that night, all the other unedited Metallica songs were extremely mild compared to Last Caress and So What. I was working night shifts at an auto parts store and we had the wall of car stereo/speakers wired to be able to use all of the floor model radios and speakers at the same time. My manager had never heard either song before and was freaking out the entire time the songs were playing. He just kept saying, “I can’t believe they (the radio station) are paying $40k a month in fines for less than 40 minutes of airtime.” Thing is though, the station was making a killing in ad revenue for the one or two ads that would play before and after that 10 minute spot. It was almost like Super Bowl ad costs...companies would pay outrageous ad fees just to get their company name on air during that spot. Good times!!!!!
Part of this song was the answer part of the message box on my first cell phone. Try getting hired for a job when they call your cell and that pops on.

They played this live at MTV Europe awards in the late 90s when they were supposed to play King Nothing. It was hilarious 🤣🤣
That was the shit
And then MTV Europe banned them, if I remember correctly.
