@@user-lj8yq9vs8t Hi there! There should be an o-ring in the female connector of AFW43 so the plumber's tape is not necessary there. As for the male connector, it depends on if there's an o-ring in the female side of your water line. If there is no o-ring, then plumber's tape is necessary and you can get it here: www.123filter.com/ac/ispring-ptfe-industrial-sealant-tape?path=118_87. Thanks. Just found this, but the RO is now fully functional. My son (who has one) explained the physics to me and a note from your office told me to re-apply the teflon tape on the valve. Great to have it back in service. Thanks for y our prompt customer support.
Excellent video, my dude. Just finished installing, and the tank is being filled for the flush as I type. My wife walked in as I was finishing..."You're done? There was a lot less cursing than there usually is for a plumbing job..." 😆

Great video but one change needed. For the feed water adapter (AFW43), these are compression type fittings with a rubber seal. Teflon tape should NOT be used on those threads. The rubber seals the connection, not the threaded connection. Only use teflon tape on the connections without a rubber seal.
Excellent. Good volume, upbeat tempo and you use fast-forward effectively. The best of several RO videos I've seen. I think iSpring has a much older "How To" out there on TH-cam. People complained about volume. You should take that down.
I recently bought a 7 stage filter from ebay.Bloody nightmare No instructions at all Wierd fittings and the 8mm tube was difficult to put in standard 8mm push fittings.I couldn't have managed without your concise video.Many thanks. :}

Calm, no drum beat music... very professional!! Thank you for showing your installation. I just bought the iSpring RCC7 system and about to install it. Your video with instructions is very helpful. Question: do I need to pressurize the storage tank for 1st time use? Once again, THANKS!
Vinh Nguyen is the tank always has to be pressurized? You use a air compressor to add air to it? What happens if I buy the osmosis system with the booster pump? Would I still need to add air?
Thanks for This great instructional install vid. It was perfect & I easily installed this sys last weekend! No more water bottles & lifting 5 gallon jugs up 3 flights of stairs anymore! Damm you Condo Great Job & much thanks Great system D.
For anyone else looking for flushing instructions, that section starts at 10:43. Everything else in the install was straightforward enough without the video, but the flushing section of the manual could use some clarification.
See yesterday when I finished setting up my system, it was working fine. I was able to flush my tank twice, and today I was gonna flush it one more time before using the water coming out of it but now the damn tank WILL NOT fill up. Yes, the main valve is on, the tank valve is open, and I do not know what the problem is. I think the automatic shutoff is malfunctioning
This is a good "how to set up" as well as a refresher. However, if I understand correctly, Spring has adopted a new way of connecting the components to replace the threaded connectors. When you ship out replacement filters, you need to inform customers of the change. When I changed my filters (way past schedule) I saw the gunk the filters take out of my tap water. #1. I will never swallow another drop of tap water. #2. I will change filters at the recommended intervals from now on. This is a great product. The part about how to wrap the Teflon tape is very important. Clockwise.l Otherwise, you'll have massive leaks.
Thank you for the video. I would recommend a different approach to install the drain saddle. Instead of attaching it first, then aligning the hole, I would suggest putting the black hose through it and inserting it into the drilled hole first, then carefully push the saddle piece against the pipe and finally attaching it with the screws
this guy has more hair on his arms then I do my whole body... Pretty cool how SASQUATCH got a job working for iSpring LOL oh my god I'm dying over here just saying that in my head!

Thanks so much for this, really well done. Do you know anything about where the Leak Stop Valve goes. The manual sticks it in at the end, but doesn't explain where it goes.

Part of the black water from the initial flush is from the Feed Water Adapter. Maybe grease or something from the seals. I've been testing each component for leaks as I install and noticed this. I recommend doing an initial flush of your cold water with the Feed Water Adapter installed so the grease / seal residue doesn't go into the RO / Stage filters
My o-ring shrank in shipment for my ro filter causing it to pour water out when on which was pretty frustrating. Gave the ring a good stretch and we’re off to the races.
Quick question if I have a wasted (garbage) dispenser where should I install the drain saddle…? I see very little space in the tube for this to be done. Thanks in advance
Helpful video very clear should make the install much easier. One question, The Manual on Page 8 under Installing the Drain Saddle, Says it is recommended to be installed on a "Horizontal" pipe, yet this video and the pictures in the Manual both show installation on a vertical pipe .. before I drill a hole I just want to make sure this is NOT a misprint as I do have access to a Horizontal Drain pipe between a double Sink. Thanks
Hi there. Thank you for reaching out! You can install the drain saddle either on a horizontal or vertical pipe, but we recommend installing it on a horizontal one to minimize the dripping sound.
Just installed mine (7 stage UV). The hardest part was going back to put the Teflon tape on the threads of the cold water line (whoever did the plumbing initially didn’t bother with tape and it wasn’t leaking... so I didn’t think I needed it at that point. I needed it.). Just flushed the first 3 stages and am waiting my 15 minutes for the system to completely flush- that trickle is indeed very very slow), before I fill and then flush the tank... that is going to be a loooooong wait... but no leaks so far! I love quick connect! By the way, I bought the ice/fridge kit and it couldn’t have been easier to install. May upgrade the tank at some point...
If you have this system under the sink, how do you connect your fridge to the ice/fridge kit? Is your fridge on the same side as your sink? Or do you run the hose somewhere?
I drilled a hole in the side of my cabinet and ran a line to connect to my ice maker line… that said, this system catastrophically failed. One of the main compartments sprang a pinhole leak. I bought a simpler competitor model (waterdrop) that has front change twist cartridges that are much easier to change out. So much less hassle so far!

The guide says to install the drain line in a horizontal section of the pipe to minimize the dripping sound. Why did you choose the vertical pipe? Thanks

Great video so far! Although common sense can be made about this but before connecting the adapter, I would have suggested to turn off both water lines. Also, I just connected the red line to my system to flush and you didn’t mention anything and I started my water and the red line popped off and half my kitchen floor got sprayed with water. Wish you explained better for that part.
Excellent explanation. I will have to install mine at the basement wash tub since there is no room under the kitchen faucet and there's a granite countertop with no extra hole for a secondary faucet.

iSpring Water Systems I just mounted the system as closely as the video and have a few questions. The drain hose that goes into the system (not the drain saddle) does not use a blue locking clip per the video and It became dislodged once or twice when I was first using it, The pressure was violent pressure was enough to yank it out. This is a concern. Secondly, I’ve filled and drained the tank twice yet the water does not look anymore pristine than plain old tsp water. I can see a lot of floating impurities, air bubbles? when I put a light through a glass of water. Taste is very neutral through. Is this normal? I was expecting more clarity. Lastly, I have the 6 stage filter with booster pump. Can I add any additional filtering like the soft water mineralization filter?

You should HAND-tighten the filter housings. Using the wrench will crack the housing if you use too much pressure tightening. Use the wrench to LOOSEN them when changing filters.
I have some kind of gray fitting at the housing. The red line pushes into it, but I don't see any way to secure it. There's nowhere for a blue clip like it shows in the video.
I don't understand how the tank acts a reservoir for the water. Shouldn't their be a line in filling the tank and a line out depleting it when in use? Does the filtered water enter the tank through the same line which it exits?

@@iSpringWaterSystems I was trying to order your iSpring 6 stage RO system but there was a problem sending to our address so I ended up the 5 stage RCC7 RO unit. Thanks for this awesome video and for clarifying how the drain system works, it was an easy installation. Your product is nice, hope you keep the quality of your product forever. Again, thank you!
It will have to be separated from the sewer, with a trap. I was going to add a trap below but am now considering running the black tube to trap above (about 3ft) which seems counter intuitive for a waste line but in video seems waste line is actually above the unit.. so I am assuming all is pressurized and waste would flow up ..though I have not confirmed that with Ispring.. other possibility instead of making a hard trap you could just form a trap with the plastic tubing.
@@koreyhannan9071 Any drain would be going through a trap eventually so it would be isolated from sewer so that could work as long as it wasn't in the way ...never saw an overflow on a kitchen sink though ?is this a bathroom sink?
@@wilfredbrisson5776 I meant the Overflow from the unit itself. And yes I realize every drain will have a trap. Since it's in the basement I was just curious if I could run on the floor since there's a floor drain right next to it
That would seem an easy solution, personally I would put a u bend in to ensure no sewer vapors back feed into the unit...pretty sure my floor drain has no trap only the house trap.
Great video but one change needed. For the feed water adapter (AFW43), these are compression type fittings with a rubber seal. Teflon tape should NOT be used on those threads. The rubber seals the connection, not the threaded connection. Only use teflon tape on the connections without a rubber seal.---only for the steel threads : yes ,using teflon ! any way it is a good demo! ,tks
You do not need to wrap teflon tape around the threads on the shut off valves under the sink. They have rubber gaskets to create the seal, the threads are there just to draw it tight to the rubber gasket. Similar to a garden hose, the rubber gasket makes the seal. Nonetheless, great vid.
I didn’t come across the video before installing but what happens to the membrane if I ran it without flushing the first 3 stages? I unplugged it and flushed it after I watched the video and it’s still dirty but not black like when you first flushed it. Is the membrane done for? Or is it still salvageable?
Hi Darrell. The membrane should be ok if you didn't flush the prefilters this time. But please do flush them after future prefilter replacements. To test if the membrane still works, you can compare the TDS of your water before and after the membrane. A TDS meter can be found here: www.amazon.com/calibraci%C3%B3n-temperatura-amplitud-medici%C3%B3n-precisi%C3%B3n/dp/B00IDBZ1A2.
I already had a system installed but noticed that over time the water pressure as strong as it used to be. I tried pumping it and it didn't do the trick. Ended up buying a new tank. I wanted to ask is it normal to not get a water stream as soon as the new tank is installed? I guess I will find out soon enough if the water is filling it or not...
Hi Lucas. The tanks have to be properly pressurized and just adding air to them may not work. great video! I was going to by an RCC7 5 stage and just saw on amazon the RCC7ak 6 stage for the same price. What do you suggest I buy? Is the install the same with an RCC7ak 6 stage?
Hi there! The only difference between the RCC7 and the RCC7Ak is the AK. The Ak is one additional filter that adds some healthy minerals back into the water to improve taste. In my opinion, if you're looking a both for the same price go ahead buy the RCC7AK. It you don't want the additional filter you can simply remove it at any time to make your system the RCC7.

Great video. I just installed mine, but screwed up the flushing part... I didn't drain it after the third filter (I misunderstood what you meant) and by the time I caught it, I ran 4 minutes of water through the system. Am I ok, or do I need to buy the 4th and 5th filters? Any help would be great!!!
You’re ok! There’s no need to replace your filters, since the excess carbon was instead filtered out by reverse osmosis rather than flushed out. You can easily go back and correct the mistake by wiping down the RO membrane and housing with a paper towel. Ignoring this step overtime will just cause the membrane to clog sooner than expected, and will lower the production rate of clean water.
iSpring Water Systems I made a similar mistake; forgot to flush the first 3 filters initially so I just ran them through the entire system for 30mins instead of the suggested 10-15. The water is coming out a little cloudy at this point. Will a wiping/rinse of the RO do the trick, or did I make a worse mistake?
Hi Chandrasekhar. In that case, you can get our US21B under sink water filtration system instead, which doesn't require drilling holes: www.amazon.com/iSpring-US21B-Capacity-Cartridges-Chlorine/dp/B089N3PRF6.

For anyone else looking for flushing instructions, that section starts at 10:43. Everything else in the install was straightforward enough without the video, but the flushing section of the manual could use some clarification.
thanks
This worked for me. It's definitely easier. Also, cut the end of that pipe at a 45° angle to prevent it from blocking.
Very helpful video. Good tips on wrapping the tape clockwise and prepping everything before installing.

@@gordonxu2493 I didn't have the carbon filter connected

This a great and super helpful video. It makes installing this system so much easier. Thank you thank you thank you!

Great video so far! Although common sense can be made about this but before connecting the adapter, I would have suggested to turn off both water lines. Also, I just connected the red line to my system to flush and you didn’t mention anything and I started my water and the red line popped off and half my kitchen floor got sprayed with water. For the drain saddle can you mount the dispensing black hose into the sink rather than drilling and mounting it under the sink?

iSpring Water Systems I just mounted the system as closely as the video and have a few questions.

I'm running in the basement to the upstairs sink cabinet. On the Overflow drain can I just run it to a drain? Or do I need to tie it into a trap
@@wilfredbrisson5776 thanks for your reply

Hi Darrell. The membrane should be ok if you didn't flush the prefilters this time. But please do flush them after future prefilter replacements. I wanted to ask is it normal to not get a water stream as soon as the new tank is installed? I guess I will find out soon enough if the water is filling it or not...
Hi Lucas. The tanks have to be properly pressurized and just adding air to them may not work. If the tank has been replaced then it will have normal pressure once it's had time to accumulate enough water. It can take two hours for this if incoming water pressure is low. If the tank still doesn't work, please feel free to contact us at 678-261-7611 (M-F, 8:30 - 5:30 EST) or email us at support@123filter.com. We are happy to help.

great video!

Thank you! I ordered the 6 stage!
Nice video but you didn't show how to install the faucet. Was hoping that would be covered since my unit didn't come with an instruction manual. Guess I'll check to see if I can find one on your website.
Hi Brian. I apologize that the system you got didn't come with a manual. I have reported this issue to my colleague to make sure this won't happen again. You can find an e-version of our RCC7 manual here: m.media-amazon.com/images/I/B1kQt2g6-YS.pdf. Do you put any air in the tank?
Hi Wael. Our tanks should be pre-pressurized when you receive them. For more information about our tank, please refer to this video: th-cam.com/video/dBuxZzDJjhk/w-d-xo.html.

Other then Teflon tape 5,6,7,8 times it’s good video
Hi there. Please, make sure to use as much as you need.
We recommend 6-8 layers to create a good seal to avoid any leaks.
We replaced our filters and now the water seems cloudy with bubbles in it. It wasn't doing this prior to changing the filters. Any suggestions please?
Hi there. Cloudiness and bubbles are normal and we have information in the manual about it. If you are still concerned, please call us at 678-261-7611 (M-F, 8:30 - 5:30 EST). We can help explain in detail.
I forgot to flush the 1st 3 stages, is my membrane shot and should be replaced?
Hi there. If the membrane is brand new, there shouldn’t be any problem. You should test the water with a TDS meter to determine how well the membrane is working.
If you see that the membrane is not properly working, please kindly contact us at support@123filter.com or at (678) 261-7611 M-F 8:30-5:30 EST to properly guide you. We are happy to help!
Dude thanks for the great instructions. You sound incredibly depressed, although I am assuming. I hope all is well with you. Reach out if you’d like to talk.
Thanks for the video it really helped me out! 😁
@@sobekenobie Hey man what did you do to correct the mistake? I did the same thing :(
Hi I am trying to buy this.. but I live in a leasing community worried if they charge me if I put holes to draining pipe or hole for faucet ..
Hi Chandrasekhar. In that case, you can get our US21B under sink water filtration system instead, which doesn't require drilling holes: www.amazon.com/iSpring-US21B-Capacity-Cartridges-Chlorine/dp/B089N3PRF6.
Thanks a lot. Best tutorial ever!!!
