Just thought.. I remember you saying that your first trip to Disney was when your mum was pregnant with you and now your little girl’s first trip was when you were pregnant with her. Love when things like that happen. ❤️❤️❤️

I’m not sure if I know how to articulate this, but I’ve been watching this channel since I was about 15 years old (so 12-13 years now) and during those years you had to go through some very tough things while being in the public eye. I have no right to be, but I can’t help but feel proud of how you’ve managed to grow and build a life for yourself. And while I may not watch every video these days, I still love these little glimpses- like catching up with a cousin at Christmas and being so thrilled for them and all they’ve accomplished! All the best with your big adventure in 2024. Xx

Love that you sat there talking about going for a run in the early morning while pregnant being superhuman meanwhile you were doing 13(?) shows per week with Panto 😂 I think you very much deserve the title of superhuman just as much as those who run or stay organized or some such, just as amazing!

Regarding the travelling-theme: Travelling with children is great! My kids are 5 (turning 6 in Feb) and 3 and I love travelling with them. I get to experience the world from a whole new POV. Having kids should never hold us back, especially when we love travelling. Kids love to see new places (mine do at least)!

I think you're going to be a wonderful mother, and you're so right: forgiveness is key! One thing I learned in the first few years of raising my son is that it's inevitable that you will mess up. You can't be perfect so at some point you will yell or lose your patience or say something unkind without thinking about it. What matters more than trying to be perfect is that you take responsibility for your mistakes and talk to your child about them. By taking responsibility and apologizing you show your child that they can trust you to know when you've done something wrong and apologize while also modeling for them what it looks like to be a kind and thoughtful person. You've got this, Carrie!!!

I’m pregnant with my second. Having a baby is the most beautiful but also overwhelming thing. Study and research what you can. But you will learn a lot in the moment. I’m going to adopt the “forgive yourself” thing you are doing. That is beautiful. Especially since I’ll have a toddler and a newborn this summer.
I love your videos. I feel like we have grown up together. You got me through bad relationships/ heartbreak and then finding my husband, getting married and growing our family. Thank you!

It's a lovely focus to have on one word and what it means to you, rather than a list of resolutions that then makes you feel guilty when you don't get them done. Can't believe you are getting so close to little bubba arriving! Hope you are all doing well ❤

My 2023 New Year’s resolution was to get an appointment to find out if I have ADHD or not. Turns out, I do! Hoping to get an autism diagnosis in 2024- but the best part is even though I’m 26 this year I can look back at my life and forgive myself for things that actually- were down to not getting the right support. My 2024 will be about coming to terms with that and forgiving myself. (:
(Also going to Disneyland with my mum this year so that’s something to look forward to!)

Please don’t let anyone make you feel like a bad mum or second guess yourself or parenting skills. When I had my son I went against the ‘normal’ and followed my instincts, I had so many people telling me I was doing it wrong and telling me what I should be doing and it just felt wrong and unnatural, but thanks to your amazing sister in law Gi, and all the help and advice and realness of parenthood she gives on her socials, I stuck to my instincts and I’m so proud of myself for doing what was right for me and my son. Yes you’ll make mistakes but the beauty is there’s always more than one way to do something so keep making mistakes until you learn what works for you. Don’t let anyone make you feel like a bad parent because you’ll be amazing! Xx

Enjoy your new journey, your life will literally never be the same and be the most stressful it has ever been but you will love it and the journey is completely worth it. ❤ forgiving yourself daily is an awesome plan and something I do myself because, you know what, you can only do your absolute best.

It connects to nurturing the baby of course, but also learning to nurture yourself. Nurture your thoughts, feelings, be kind to yourself. Also, nurture your partner, your relationship, because it can be a lot easier to snap or get frustrated at each other in this new stage of life.
You’re clearly going to be wonderful parents, best of luck for the new year ❤😊

And as I weekly remind my friend: You are the parent of your child, you know what’s best for them. Listen to what people have to say and DO ONLY what YOU find to be right for you!     New Year Resolutions;
Remember you matter too- its okay to take care of yourself,
Relish every moment because it goes it a flash,
Embrace the chaos cos sometimes all you do is cuddle up with your baby and don't get dressed and watch Disney films all day and that's okay,
Trust that for all the well meaning advice this is yours and Joel's baby and you make the rules of what works for your family,
Never apologise for the state of your home, yourself or your life cos if you have a happy and looked after child - who cares,
Prioritise time for your relationship cos you guys matter,
And last but not least- have a wonderful time living your life ❤❤❤
Feel free to ignore as much of this as needed, cos that's your right 😂

Yes girl! You are going to be such an amazing mom...because you already are! And yes, those comments will be there...I mean...I even got them from my (soon to be ex-)mother-in-law .... *sigh*
And yes, you are going to feel guilty or dumb or whatever.... but you know what? We all have been there. And we all just try and do our best because that's all we can do. As long as that little bundle of love is happy, fed, changed, bathed, dressed and loved.... then you did what you had to do! All I ever say to new mothers is: trust your mother instincts! YOU know your child the best! YOU know your own gut feeling the best. Trust it!
Sending you all my best wishes, hope you will have a smooth birthing process and of course a happy and healthy baby.
Be mild for yourself. Give yourself enough rest and me-time, even when the baby is born... it is ok to ask for help. It is ok to ask somebody to come over and look after your baby so you can get a nice long warm shower or bath. It's ok if the house isn't spotless. It's ok to say 'no' to people wanting to come over for a visit if you are too tired or in pain or just not up for it. I was so overwhelmed by all the constant stream of visitors (even if they were family... it just asks so much energy) but I never had the courage to say: no, sorry, today is not a good day.
I didn't take care of myself...but through the years, I learned the hard way that the most important person in your life..... is you! Because if you don't feel good, your child will notice. It's like in an airplane, when they do the safety briefing... when the oxygen masks come down, what do you have to do? Exactly, first put your own mask on! THEN help your children and others...
So I love that you choose 'Forgiveness' as your Word for the year. Because I think that is going to help you.

I had a baby in December and I also made 0 resolutions 😅 It is wonderful but the concept of routine is gone, at least for this first month, your life revolves around the baby's schedule 😊

Also, I'm a pediatrician and I still get tons of unsolicited advice. Even if it is usually followed by a "but you know this better than me". I just choose to either ignore or correct them, depending on my mood/how wrong they are 😂

a selfish note from a former baby who grew up in a family that couldn't afford frequent travel: I did end up feeling a bit salty about the fact that my parents did most of the travelling in those years that are entirely lost to me because they were before I could form proper memories
so if you do end up pushing travel plans to further in the future... don't feel too bad about it 😬😬

Also if anyone wants to do some reading about babies and psychology, I’m doing a masters course and this book by Graham Music is so accessible (I am ADHD and a shit reader) and I’m 100000% going to make my husband read it before we have kids lol it’s called Nurturing Natures and it just gave me so much information about the environment of the womb and parenthood and the concept of “good enough” parenting (because I know it’s gonna be the hardest job) and I don’t know I’ve found it fascinating as someone who is hoping to enter motherhood in the next few years

My first passport was when I was 3 months old. Tip from my mum as kids get older. Go to the pound shop and buy small new toys to keep them distracted on the flight- also gummies are great for keeping pressure from affecting little ear drums.

I could give myself travel... But needed to ideally go with and none of my friends have the money to spare.
I could actually try dating and a relationship, but I haven't done that since... birth.
Losing weight though I've already been doong good with that recently so that's likely cheating.
Maybe go see more theatre? That seems feasible. I should be getting my event Access card so that's even less excuse.
