Joe reviving his Thatching career and Dan and Phil reviving their gaming channel on the same day is too much for me. Feels like i've gone back in time.
As an American who has never seen a thatched roof, I always love hearing you talking about the trade because I can tell how much you enjoy it and that it was a real passion of yours.
Oh, I LOVED this, Joe - it actually made me feel really emotional! What an amazing skill you have. Perhaps one day you will thatch a roof for your own house with Dianne.
Thatcher Joe, you haven't lost it at all! This was a wonderful video. So nostalgic, well filmed and great vibes with everyone involved. You really have become an icon in your day. Thanks for sharing your great life.
Been watching since 12+ years ago and thought I'd check in on some old youtube subscription buds. Happy to see you happy and thriving! Sad some of the channels haven't been updated in 4-6 years. Thanks for letting us have a peek into your life. :)
man i got violent (but good) flashbacks watching this. you made my teen years great with your content im so glad to see you doin well (and momentarily thatching again!)
The way you talked about being in nature and creating art for someone else sounds incredible. Also, I want to hear a roof-thatching ASMR track now. Keep up with the amazing videos.
Havent watched in a solid 9 years but this came into my feed and im glad it did. I remember watching the old thatching videos as a kid. Oddly nostalgic
i remember the first time of ever seeing one of your thatcher videos way back in the 2013 to now seeing you go back to your roots of the beginning of your career. Time really does fly by so quickly! this is so emotional to watch in such a good way seeing you grow and flourish is incredible
This was awesome to see you do your old job again, Joe, and do it so well. You’re an artist and that showed. Everyone was so nice and encouraging. A great bunch of people.
watching this made me remind of the old days 😭 i remember watching you from the start and look where you are now 🥺 glad i was able to spend my childhood/teen years watching you guys 😭
seeing this video pop up in my recommended brought such a smile to my face. i use to watch your videos so much when i was younger in my early teens and now im nearly 20. so to of seen this, has truly made my night
As someone who has never ridden a bike let alone got any skills that can keep rain and weather out in such a lovely heritage way I am very impressed, WELL DONE Joe.
So good to see this, felt like a proper thatcher joe throwback :) so crazy to see where life has taken you, look forward to seeing pieces of the next chapter:)
I remember the days right at the start where you were still on the roofs. Seems ages ago, but seeing you go back makes it feel like yesterday. Weird thing, time is. Thanks for this special vid!
wooow what time flies, i got u on recommended and i havent seen your videos in years i have forgotten you. but now when i got u recommended i finnally got here again
Oh loved this Joe. So lovely to see you go back to thatching. I live and have always lived in the countryside of the Somerset, Dorset Devon borders, 3 counties, so appreciate the old crafts and skills too. X
would love to see more of your thatching adventures!! this was a very therapeutic video for me, i love seeing old crafts like this being shown to the world x
I have to say Joe this feels like such a full circle moment. I used to spend hours watching your videos all those years ago. I loved all your gaming videos, i would wait all day at school to come home and watch them, I was obsessed with your channel, your sisters, Marcus, Alfie, etc. Seeing you now go back to where it all began is honestly emotional. Very proud of everything you’ve done and where you are now. This made my day❤️❤️❤️
I've been here since you started this channel and to watch you return to it felt so so nostalgic and it really warmed my heart to see how much you love it still, after all these years! 🥹
Love to see a thatched roof & especially thatching in progress. There’s a flying pig on a thatched roof near me and I used to love looking at the fox chasing 2 hares on a roof in Wendover on my way to work. When I was young in a little village in Hampshire there was a witch on a thatched roof. Unf not far from me there was also an enormous spider but thankfully it’s gone now, was the stuff of nightmares esp with a good following shadow! ❤
Such a nostalgic video! Loved watching every minute of it, reminded me of when I first started watching your videos and then discovering the whole gang...great times
I watched a video on a thatched roof and it instantly reminded me of you and I had to look you up again Joe! Hope you’re doing well and just wanted to thank you for helping me in my teen years watching you and I know you helped a lot of others as well ❤️
I'm so glad you had a opportunity to try this again! It brings a lot of memories for me too. It's been so long since your first video but I'm still checking your channel to enjoy stuff like this.
this was such a nice video to watch. i’ve watched you since the early days so not only was it wholesome and nostalgic but i feel i’ve learnt a little about thatching !! would love to see more as it’s so super satisfying ! ❤️
Great to go back to your roots , very supriced you have a house with a slate style roof, interesting blog as you stated its like ridding a bike it maybe a wobbly start but the artist comes out as you settle down to the job in hand 10 out of 10 blog Sir !
I'll be honest - it's been years since I've watched one of your videos Joe (Dare Suggs and your Impression videos were top tier) but coming across this whilst I was working really was nostalgic
I vividly remember that clip of you at the start going down the ladder. 😊 It’s a shame you don’t thatch anymore - it’s a really lovely unique thing you had and set you apart from other TH-camrs, though I’m glad you still remember how to do it!
Well hey! Great to see you Joe, and even better watching you return to your roots. This was such a lovely video and so glad to see you’re doing well and still creating videos ❤

I needed this video today, I remember back in my day when I use to watch TH-cam everyday. Reliving my teen years. Keep it up Joe, we do love this content.
im so happy to see this.. at 12 years old i saw you thatching, i had never heard of it before as i live in canada. its so beautiful, its a form of art really. i wanted to become a thatcher when i saw and learned. sadly living in canada its not possible. i swore to myself if i move to the uk (which is my other dream from childhood) i would try out thatching. still want to 10 years later. love u joe
I've been a subscriber since day one and this really got me seeing you do this again. I remember you driving around in the little Peugeot. Wow things have changed so much.
Great video Joe, I started watching your videos back when you were living with Casper Lee, since then I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos, Keep up all the amazing work. Can’t wait to what your next video will be.
I only started watching The Thatching Guy because of how much I loved seeing your thatching video and how much I missed seeing you Thatching… the two words collide and I love this
I always stop and watch the thatching process. I’m lucky to be surrounded by many thatch houses on outskirts of Canterbury. If I had my time again, I would of loved to have trained in this old craft.
Joe reviving his Thatching career and Dan and Phil reviving their gaming channel on the same day is too much for me. Feels like i've gone back in time.

This is so special to see you back where it all started. What a journey!
Maybe y'all could do like a yearly collab and that way you can still keep thatching in your life and Shane gets a yearly pack of cider 😉💗
Wow that roof was beautiful, so much skill and workmanship. We just don’t see houses with so much character in New Zealand.
