- This tutorial is pretty much a really simple way to create a drop nice blocky superhero-esque drop shadow in Adobe Illustrator. It deals mostly with the blend tool and how it can be used with text.

Very helpful! You simplify this trend very well, thanks!
(ADOBE CC 2020) It worked for me once the type was converted to "outlines" (Type>Create Outlines). Thanks for the upload.
Thanks.. I used this and it worked
When I do this and zoom in close there are tiny triangles on lines that should be smooth even at high numbers. How to smooth?
Thanks for making. This is a good tutorial. I am highly appreciate your work.
Hermes Conrad coming in with the graphic design tutorials! big up
Simple, clear, great tute. Thank you!
Brilliant, thank you for this!
saved me some money ty!!!!!!
Awesome tutorial but it won't let me select "Make" after I have chosen the blending options. Help?
Did you make sure that both objects were selected?
@@NicholasHuggins Didn't work for me either, even with both selected.
@@RuthMarieSomm I had to expand them but it worked for me once I expanded the text.
Super helpful thanks mate you're a legend
Thanks man! 👍
Thanks for the tutorial brother! Good job
Huge C'bean Thanks! (from Barbados) :)
Thanks for watching!
It doesn’t let me hit ‘make’. The option isn’t highlighted for some reason…
Great video Nick, keep them up!!
thanks man Jesse!
Hello, I want to make a drop shadow on the text that's on a circular path. However, the "Make" option in Object > Blend isn't visible. How can I fix this?
Yeah I just tried it and the same thing happened. I expanded the text and it worked though...the only issue is that the text will no longer be editable, but that's the work around. Not sure if anyone else has a better fix
@@NicholasHuggins You have to 'Convert to Point type' in the Type menu. It won't let you blend editable type if its 'Area type.'
@@charlesbloomfield222 Thank youuuuuu!, this worked in Adobe CC 2023
Good stuff, must make out a trini anywhere!
hahah for sure!! Thanks man
I just love his Jamaican accent.
Trinidad & Tobago! Not Jamaica :)
lol definitely a trini accent. Repping the 868
TLDR: Object/Blend
i hate how there is always a waaayy too small thin line you see around letters - no matter what technique
dont work for me.
DOESN'T WORK
