EPIC SIEGE OF OSGILIATH - Third Age Total War Gameplay

- Faramir is holding Osgiliath against a massive army of orcs. Recently Mordor has attacked and conquered East Osgiliath, and will be soon marching to West Osgiliath. Faramir must hold, or the city of Minas Tirith will be under attack! This is a historical battle during the War of the Ring. Enjoy the battle :D

rules.:
1)if gothmog[1st orc leader] or witchking dies ..instant game win for gondor
2)the orcs must attack in waves...thus 0xp troops attack first...when they are depleted ..then the 1xp orcs attack and so...on ..[generals are excempt from this rule...]
3) the gondor troops outside the city cant move until the 1exp orcs on the western bank move
4)whilst 0exp orcs are attacking ,1xp orcs inside the city can move to the edge of the river[there side]...in preparation for assault[this can be done for 2xp when 1exp wave attacks etc..as long as they dont cross the river until the attacking wave is broken.]

Also just thought of this. you could've gotten a flanking shot with your artillery like you did with those Gondor archers and shot through the buildings.

PA could you do like a team/solo tournament in either TATW or vanilla. In some of your older videos you did that and it was very enjoyable. It could be something fun for the community. Nice video by the way, the fire arrows in the night sky were very cinematic.

Now that the city is lost you should try to have a cav charge back to osgiliath on a separate battle where Faramir tries to retake Osgiliath like in the movie.
Orcs get a lot of archers and some infantry, Gondor gets few cavalry units but they are really experienced. Gondor wins by taking the city center and Mordor wins by slaying them all.

Hey, you can't say every man counts then lose a bunch of elite pike infantry to friendly fire and say it's not game breaking! These battles are great but honestly the amount of people carelessly using flaming shot is absurd.
Maybe do something else than osgiliath next time? I think paladin bobs scenario was the perfect way to finish off
it would be sooooo awesome if on TW WH you play scenarios like this, for example, a couple of very elite dwarfs against a massive horde of zombies or orks
Your best third age totalwar siege battle since! I love the torches and the scenery, especially that indoor view on top of the wall. That wave thing also gave some sense and intrest into this battle. I'd like to see more wave like battles :)
Would love to see a mod where Jedi or somekind of overpowered lightsaber wielder in these lotr battles. would be pretty epic.

I became sad after the cavalry charged at 30:00. Reminds me when in the Lord of the rings: The Return Of the King when Faramir and his knights charged into Osgiliath on a suicide mission.
I have a theory of why your ally pushed out at 23:15 it makes perfect sense it was to buy time for the other troops such as the guards of Osgiliath to get in position well it could not be this but it makes sense do you agree PA 😀

this was a lot of fun ..:P I also had a lag spike in the replay in the middle..perhaps that is in the copyied replay rather than the engine :D...but still a great game and excellently presented :D

Pixie, would you be fine with some Elder Scrols mod online battles ? :-), btw USE THE JAVELINS ON TROLLS xD, its super effective, one volley can kill 2 to 3 trolls man, Amazing battle :D, when i saw it, i was like, meh, another Osgiliath battle ;), but it turned out amazing xD

It's realy funny when you hear him saying "West Osgiliath" as a german becaus west is the same in german, just a little bit different pronounced but everytime He says Osgiliath I will understand "Osgiliath" ans Ost is east in english. So its mindblowing when you want to understand "west eastgiliath" xD
i bought medieval 2 through steam and i have kingdoms dlc and third age working and everything is fine... but when i try to play multiplayer it shows the gamespy menu and i cant play multiplayer.... i have followed your tutorial but it still doesnt work and it shows the gamespy... please help me!

I saw the ballista оnly late in the fight)I think if it was moved to the other gate where the wall was destroyed this allowed you to kill more enemies)to change places ballista and catapult.or catapult pull closer to the gate like in others video for greater accuracy)great battle!)
Love this scenario. maybe a delay between waves would have been ideal. Also the attackers should have limited artillery. Great battle tho and the Gondorians were only about two more elite units away from possibly winning it.
You have to think, for example that small unit of freemen was keeping hundreds of orcs busy so the archers could shoot them. Pretty good strat in my opinion
