I have come around an issue after installing the kit. I can’t do autosprint anymore it seems like the left joystick never hits the outer threshold so i am always walking. Another issue is when I press K1 the light doesn’t flicker when testing even though it can be mapped. On the contrary k4 doesn’t want to be mapped. Please help me !
Update: So as I guessed, the left stick wasn't going to the max because when I put the board back it wasn't completely aligned. At first I thought it was because of the EVA tape, so I removed it and I put the rise circuit directly on the FPC (fixed it on the two pins). This still didn't fix my issue, so I ended up putting Eva tape on the inside of the back cover of the controller to put enough pressure on the board to be completely aligned. And now it works perfectly (the small issue I had with K4 is now fixed as well). I hope this will be helpful to someone out there :)

Had the exact same problem with the left analog stick and also noticed that my screenshot button didn't "click" anymore. As you said there wasn't enough pressure coming from the left side of the motherboard inside due to the tape added at 10:20. Your solution worked perfectly, so thanks for sharing. I spared the part where the main orange ribbon cable lies on the battery to not put any more pressure on it.

Great video, thank you! Let me post my feedback here.
1, I spent a good 10 minutes to put back the touchpad in its place. There is a small plastic hook I broke down intentionally, so It went back together easily.
2, The L3 & R3 FPC cable strip could have larger holes so it would be easier to solder onto the PCB.
3, When I placed the small sticky pad under the original FPC cable, it was impossible to put back the FPC cable to its plastic pins, so I skipped that.
4, The FPC cable that came with the kit hadn't the smaller sticky tape on it, so I place that too onto the plastic pins instead.
Other than these, everything was fine and it works perfectly!

sucessfully installed mine, here are my tips, becareful when unplugging the ribbon cables sometimes it would unplug on the other side of the cable. get the plastic version, its easier to install compared to the metal, i have the metal and the k3 and k4 sometimes stick when u installed the foam incorrectly and it feels cheap it felt like it just a plastic. put the extra foam tape cut it in half then stack them together then stick it on top of the orange cable before closing the shell, this would add an extra pressure to make sure that the new ribbon cable makes solid contact to your controller. have fun

As someone who did this along with the whole clicky kit I wanted to give a few things from my build that may or may not help someone else first off on mine the rise 4 absolutely would not work until I put the thick sponge on like it says in this video but the clicky kit video says not to use it mine NEEDED that thick sponge from this video to work also my up directional arrow would not work once I put it all togeather but as soon as I took the back off it was back to working as it should only solution I could find for that was to take all the extra sticky sponge pieces and stack them on top of each other and place them on the r1/r2 top corner of the battery out of the way of the rise ribbon cable I’ve literally spent 10+ hours trying different things and checking Reddit and these were only fixes I could come up with to reliably fix my issues all in all not a bad kit I had literally 0 experience doing this type of thing but got it working but if a dual sense edge is in your budget I would just go with that unless you need 4 back buttons instead of 2

Absolutely fantastic just put it all together with no issues, I will say however for anyone on the fence about buying it, just learn how to take your controller apart and get comfortable I've been taking my own controllers apart for years now and it's useful beyond measure especially when it comes to tedious issues like stick drift.
Awesome product, just got to get used to it now.

I just have a quick question - the middle back buttons got in the way too much for me, so I removed them and clipped it back on. I'm just wondering if the exposed board is a problem? Not gonna be thrown in water or anything, but hair, fluff etc will probably get in there. Will a blow of air be enough to keep it functional yeah?

    • @rockybalboa6433
      @rockybalboa6433 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      10:30
Apparently this is the part of the build that can cause this issue, from what someone told me on the subreddit. Had the same exact issue as you, after L3 to sprint back buttons won’t work for a few seconds. Super annoying problem in games like Destiny 2 where you are doing a lot of running and jumping.
Anyways I never found a great solution that lasted more than a few months, but a temporary fix is opening the controller back up and making sure the FPC cable is fitted down over the piece of EVA tape you put in there. Problem is when you put the tape in there you have to stretch the FPC cable back over the little black spikes that stick up, doing that widens the holes in the FPC making it more likely to pop back up.
Basically everytime you notice L3 preventing the back buttons from working the FPC cable prob moved. So you gotta go back in an reseat it. I’ve had times where the issue starts happening and I open the controller up but the FPC hasn’t moved. But when I put the controller all back together the problem goes away for another month or two.
If you find a better fix please let me know, I fucking hate taking these controllers apart, it is not as easy as everyone makes it sound. I just built a new controller hoping to get away from this problem, if it starts happening again in the new one I’m giving up on this company for good.

So far love this mod was easy enough to preform although even with the little diagrams to help you figure out which control you have b10-20 etc It still wasn’t easy enough to figure out which one I had until I opened the case so first kit b10/20 had to be returned but once I got the right one went together great just take your time and make sure the buttons move freely. The only issue I have which is negligible is that the controller will no longer fit and charge in the ps5 controller dock anymore so will have to be charged with the usb c cable instead. So keep that in mind when upgrading your controller but in my opinion well worth it to not spend 4x as much on the ps5 edge controller 🤷‍♂️
