You are one lucky man. This must have been a treat to see live. She is gifted!
I have loved this for years and years.
She is a marimba beast! and that marimba is soooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
TenStarsplus !!!!!!!! Fantabulous !!!!! Bravo!!!!! This is one of my all time favorite compositions, and on a Marimba yet!!!!! A hard piece for an orchestra let alone one person!!!! You brought tears to the eyes of this big tough ol' guy!!!! Thank you for posting this wonderful video!!! I love it !!!!!
ok so i bought the sheet music to this, and it just came in tonight. after looking over it for about an hour, i realized just how hard this piece is with all the left to right hand independance and the stretches. major MAJOR props to this fine lady on her work. i love it so very much
Wow! One of the most gifted artists/musicians I've heard in a long time! You are so very talented! I couldn't take my eyes off of your work for six minutes and three seconds. Thank you for sharing this with us! I am your number one fan! Two sticks in each hand playing diferent notes and styles at the same time! Wonderful!
this made me cry on the inside and out. this is what i love and i feel stupid for ever wanting to give it up.
She is great...this is one of the most great clasical songs i veev er heard...
I love performing in that hall. It's my favorite. Amazing acoustics
Could you please reload this song with the great sound of today ? Please I love it so much and you look like a butterfly playing with water drops...:) it's been years since I love it and your interpretation ♥ I know you will never see my request... but thank you for this moment of pure grace
I play the marimba and am no where near this good! I must learn from her!!! Then again... I'm in high school... a long ways to go. I also didn't know I was called a "Marimbist". Important knowledgefacts!
TenStarsplus !!!! Bravo!!! Fantabulous !!!! A beautiful rendition of one of my favorites!!! If anyone doesn't like the way she improvised on this they need to listen to The Christmas Canon, by The Trans-Siberian Orchestra!!!! They also add their own touch to this magnificent work of art!!! By the way, the lady playing this is a real work of art also!!! She's really a hottie!!!!! Thank you so much for posting this wonderful video!!!!!!!!
Good lord, this thing grooves so well...so sweet (:
What amazing work she did! Tx for sharing!
This really makes me smile.
素晴らしい…
私が今まで聴いた中で、一番素晴らしい演奏です!
マリンバはやはりバラードが綺麗ですね。
good job your really good at whatever you do keep it up and never quit on your dreams cuz they will come true forever
I think it's incredible that you did the melody at 1:30 with you four mallet while you're doing the bass in your one and two and your harmony with your three. That's hard.
wow she is really good and i have heard the piece played alot but i really like this arrangement...thanks for posting this...i will be learning this one tonight...
Beautiful !!
arrangement spectacular. execution great

I am a percussionist and this is VERY difficult. Very nice... Love it!
wow.... earned my respect
its amazing how she makes every thing sound so beautiful and look so easy when in real life the piece is really difficult

Amazing!
Master class in deed.
Incredible! I'm definitely buying this piece and learning it. Thank you for posting!
ha yeah, i figured that one out too..and that was my favorite part...but oh well! its amazing how she can improv like that
Sensacional!!
Amazing piece -- it's crazy hard if you buy the sheet music. Not so much in terms of notes, but memorizing which chord or non-chord tune to use in each repetition and some amazing large intervals on all of the F# and some of the D chords in the sequence - just know that everytime her arms extend out further you will most definitely need complete wingspan at those moments.
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
great!
I'm am playing the Nathan Daughtery arangement for my final exam.
but this one is more beautiful!
and Yamaha marimba's sound f'n awesome!
She makes it look so easy...
this is Awesome! I want to learn this song now
Love this.
WOW!! Amazing!
Awesome!!!!!!! bravo!!!!!!!!!!
you are one talented woman :)
Incredible! I'd love to play this if I had a 5-octave marimba handy, lol.
beautifully inspiring amazing brilliant, I must make a marimba!
gorgeous
wow amazing!
me encanta el video!
@infinity182yahoo that's incredible! thank you for that. you've inspired me to practice more. imagine being able to just change a solo like that because of how you feel. :] what an incredible player.
my dad bought it for a christmas present, but it still needs to be shipped to my house, and thats why i was asking about the octaves. im going to play this for solo and ensemble in April. I'll post it :)
one day, i'll play this...
brilliant, thank you
I love playing marimba and I recently performed the canon on piano. this video is amazing!
Please come to Calí, Colombia at Marimba's festival, please!
superb!
Is fantastic
why would anyone dislike this
I want to play this so bad. But sadly. My school does not have a 5 octave.
I know how you feel buddy ;_;
i love it.

Really nice. Very good sound, and I like the piece :)
@44sinnlos Wie genial bist du denn ?!!! Verdammt super, vielen Dank! :)
I Adore you! Thank you.
It's like she uses the marimba to talk to my soul!
YOU ARE A GODESS!
i hate playing with Burton grip but she makes it look so beautiful!!
She's awesome! I remember playing this piece back in the day. One of my favorite slow marimba solo pieces. I bet it sounded even better in person. For the recording it might have recorded better if she would've used a little bit harder mallets for the upper end, but that's just a minor detail that has nothing to do with her actual playing ability.
@808stix I am surly not against a out of the whim recording of whatever you may come across, regardless of quality. I was under the impression that this was a recital and that being in such a nice acoustic spot that microphones would be handy or at the least supplied.... furthermore, i was intrigued and cared to even post, because this is one of the best Transformations of Canon to Marimba.
only if we could do such things as post youtube for a living.... i would go insane. cheers,
very bery very good fantastic
Celestial.
that good work and good interpretation, I might give the score
very niceee
i love it
its very tropical haha
Thank you for beautiful melody!
I like it!!
This piece is amazing and very beautiful. I really want to play this. And to theblackcomp111, I've never seen a marimba cost that much. Prove that you're right.
wow!
the sheet music is published by and available from Honey Rock music or about any other percussion music source. It's probably available from Steve Weiss Percussion or Lone Star Percussion. I am looking for a recording. It is on her first album but it is no longer available. If anyone has a recording please send me a message!!!
Great I loved nice talent
I love her improv section o.o
she is improving.
well the lower octave is really great in this piece
what i noticed is this lady plays it quickly in six minutes while another you tube marimba artist does this same piece in a time of 7 minutes - Kevin Hanrahan
I bet this video would get a lot more views if canon was spelled correctly ;) As it should because this is very well played.
my favorite part was definitely 5:30.....AWESOME JOB!!!!!! :) love it!
inspiring
cool instrument
Oops wasn't on my account!! This is actually me
@MrBerenstain- she arranged this herself. She has notes made but as of 2001-2 ish, she had no full transcription. I asked her after she debuted it in a clinic at U of O when I was an undergrad. She made that music cool again. We talked and joked about many options she had to run with that piece and she almost never plays any music the same twice. She changes solos depending on how she feels at the time. So yeah, improve on classical marimba!
