    Well I have just about been blown away. There actually IS a TH-cam video with beautifully spoken voice and explained in nice easy steps. Also you didn't delve back generations with history lessons that don't help explain the task at hand, but drag the video out over maybe an hour just so there will be more money in it for the sender. Congratulations on your presentation. Cheers.

    Thanks for this very easy-to-understand and comprehensive explanation. My ISP provided a tp link vx420-g2h router but didn't tell me that the WPS had not been enabled and I wasted a lot of time trying to link the router to a Wi-Fi repeater, not knowing this. With your help I enabled the WPS and problem solved! Thanks very much!

    Thanks. Can someone in a car 20 meters away from the house connect to a WPS internet modem and what can they see on that person's computer? Or can they just peruse the internet connection and that's it?

    • @network-from-home
      @network-from-home  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      20 meters might be a stretch. I would have to test it but I would think that would be out of range of the WPS function. If someone were to connect to WPS, it would just allow them to use your WiFi connection. It would also give them the opportunity to try to access your modem and router’s settings, which is a much bigger problem…

    Thanks for the video. I have a query and I hope you can help. When I put in my router's IP address on my browser it refuses to go to the router settings... This is what comes up: (hiding my IP address for obvious reasons. Does this mean my ISP blocked changing router settings or what does it mean? I've tried many times.
    192.xxxxxx took too long to respond.
    Try:
    Checking the connection
    Checking the proxy and the firewall
    Running Windows Network Diagnostics
    ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

      @network-from-home  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The first question I would ask is if you are renting your router from your ISP, or if you bought your own. If this is your own router, my guess here is that you might have the wrong IP address for your router. If you are renting your router, your ISP may not let you access its settings to make changes to it, but I tend to doubt it. I would just double check to make sure you have the right IP address for your router. This video may help:

    • @MrMclovinIam
      @MrMclovinIam 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@network-from-home No I didn't buy my own, it's the ISPs/they brought it when we signed up with them. Yeah, I used the cmd prompt method to find my IP address just as you did in your video cause there wasn't that info on the sticker at the bottom of the router. From this, I think they probs don't allow changes. No worries cause I was just curious lol, I don't really need to change anything but it would be nice to check out the settings

    • @network-from-home
      @network-from-home  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That very well might be the case. Your ISP might not let you make changes to your router’s settings

    Can the router be disconnected taken to another room connect a device, unplug again and take back to the original position, fire up and remain connected?

    • @network-from-home
      @network-from-home  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as your router is connected to your modem so that it has an internet connection, you can move it around your house and use WPS to connect devices to it. With that said, it might be easier to move your other devices closer to your router as opposed to trying to do it the other way around. I hope this helps!

    Thanks for your information, I have managed to set WPS on for my TP link C1200 router. I try to use this router as a wifi repeater. My problem is in the WPS wizard it failed to connect or detect any signal especially from my wifi router, the error message is failed to connect. I had tried push button and pin, both failed. What has gone wrong?

    • @network-from-home
      @network-from-home  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sclee7492 I'm not sure if this is what you are trying to do, but I don't believe you can connect 2 routers with WPS. Those routers will need to be connected with an ethernet cable

      @@network-from-home It can. I was able to wirelessly connect the router in the room to the main router located in the living room..The smart tv could not be connected before because the signal was weak.I think I should have entered the wi-fi pass of the first router into the second one and connected wirelessly. When I turned on wps on the router in the room, I was able to connect the smart tv to it. The other router became a repeater and I got a good signal.

    Cool so i while the WPS is active, anyone that see your network, they can easily connect to your network, especially if you are in a large apartment building, my advice, never use this function. and or check all the devises connected to your network after using this backdoor!! Or USE the PIN
