Noel sent me here. Noel's vlog wouldn’t have been the same without your little tour. Thanks for showing us the legendary 737-200 Combi. The world would be a better place if more people were like you!
that's amazing!! I really did have a blast with him! I've always thought that my job was cool, but he somehow managed to make me realize it's even cooler than I thought!!!
I guess he had! I really loved his video! I had so much fun with him! I mean... what are the odds to have someone I've been following for a long time just show up on my flight!! i've always thought that not a lot of people know we exist or care about what we do up north! (althought I'Ve always said that Aviation youtubers should be coming up north! and in that same month i've had 2! (also Alex Praglowski was on my flight but he kept such a low profile I didn't even know he was there!!! what a shame!)
Found your channel from Noel Philips' video! I used to live in YFB for a couple years and enjoyed flying around the North on some vintage aircraft, though sadly none with 3H!
There are only 77 of those left in service worldwide. The most majority of them are in Canada, as they are the only cargo jet able to land on gravel runways and most of northern runways aren’t paved. I know for my airline the maintenance schedule is very tight and rigorous! They are looked at daily that’s for sure! As far as ax-checks go I don’t know the actual schedule but it seems every aircraft goes on c-Check pretty much every year (or it feels like a a yearly thing)
At time of writing this you have 739 subscribers. Id love to know what it was before Noel told us to come here. Your videos are really well done and look like they are from someone who has thousands of subscribers and who has been perfecting the videos for many years. Well done.
wow! thank you for the compliment!!! I've actually just started my channel in June... and as of this morning I had 200 subscribers... today has been very overwhelming! I've been self-teaching myself on how to use editing software and i try to make better videos every time!
@@TheBlizzardFlyer Channel only 4 months old ??? Well done sir. Im glad your channel has got a boost through Noel you deserve it. Just keep doing what you are doing. Your editing is great and will only get better. Good Luck !
The 200 is so old but to me those JT8Ds will forever look like something from a Flash Gordon style future. Remember the first time I saw them as a child in the early 80s, completely fell in love with them.
Oh I miss these planes so much, when I was a kid in the 80s - early 90s, British Airways used to run them on the London Heathrow to Newcastle internal flight run that was part of my regular run several times a year between Newcastle and Oman, Turkey, or Egypt.
Great video Phil thanks for uploading. Air Zimbabwe also have 737/200 (Zwpa) and still flies between Harare and Daresalaam. My daughter was flight attendant for Star Air flying 737/300 under contract for Lam and Comair. Best of luck with your studies
Good things happen to good people… you did not have to be so kind to Noel, but you went out of your way and made his video extra special. Now you get repaid for your kindness with extra subscribers and views. Well done !!
You are right. I didn’t have to be so nice but that’s just who I am…. AND…. spending time with a fellow avgeek was so fun! How could I not give him the grand tour!? It never occurred to me that I would get anything in return but I will gladly and gratefully accept haha!
Came here from Noel Phillips' video, really enjoyed this video taking a look on how aviation works in such remote places in the world (i knew nothing about it to be honest), keep up the good work! I'll keep watching your video's! :)
Arrived here via link provided by Noel Philip's channel. You guys are doing a great job connecting the remote communities in the north of Canada. Best wishes from Assam, northeast India.
I have…. Sorta! He was also on my flight but he kept such a low profile I never knew he was there! Which is a bummer!! He also would’ve gotten the grand tour!!
Merci!! C'est effectivement toute une aventure! honnêtement, malgré que la base du travail est essentiellement la même, l'environnement de travail est tellement inhabituel! merci de tes bons commentaires! j'espère que tu vas apprécier les prochains vidéos aussi!! :)
I wonder too. I guess the local governments will have to take the steps necessary and the insane costs to pave the gravel runways so newer aircrafts can fly in…. Or airlines will have to rely more on turboprop aircrafts such as the Dash 8 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for another great video - it was really interesting to see how much cargo the combi carries! Nibbler and Dash are so cute - is Dash named after the Dash-8? 😄
Yes! The cargo operation is quite spectacular! And actually, no! Dash isn’t named after the Dash-8 but after Queen Victoria’s dog, who was also named Dash :)
It must be both cool and exhausting to fly 737-200 a legendary airplane all day long. So my respects to you. But my question is: wouldn't it be more cost effective to fly more recent plane model with tubofan engines or what's the story here?
Hi! That's a great question! Actually, for northern operations, the 200 is definitely appropriate! Most runways up north are made of gravel, and newer aircrafts are not equipped with the famous "gravel kit". Turbo fans engines would suck up the gravel and ruin the engines.... However, we are now introducing the 737-800NG into the fleet as a replacement for the aging 200's that are reaching their end of life.. we are also ensuring that runways in our main cargo hubs are getting paved to welcome this new bird.
Great video! Is that a super skinny closet on the 737-200 between the aft LAV and galley or does it serve some other purpose? Did you always want to fly with Air Inuit or have you ever wanted to fly internationally with AC or TS? I would imagine with your perfect English and French you would qualify easily to work on larger aircraft with larger airlines? I wouldn't mind working on the vintage 737-200 combis but the Trash 8 ..not so much...:)
Hahahahaha! Yes it is a skinny closet :) we also keep some emergency equipment in there :) I have worked at legacy carriers in the past and I didn’t love it. I have had my share of international flying lol I have to admit that although northern flying isn’t « glamorous » it’s definitely more fun and interesting! Every morning I go to work knowing there will be adventure! The -200 is a great aircraft to work on! It’s a beast!! I did love working on the -800 in the past but looking back, all that « regular » flying felt pretty « generic » as for the dash8, not my favourite I must admit but it’s still a great and very versatile aircraft :)
My luggage? It’s all our manuals and paperwork, as well as all the essentials should we get stuck somewhere… we always know when we leave for work, but never know when we come back!
Why do you have to carry so much baggage for a one-day return trip? Is it in case you don't make it home at the end of the day? What do you do about your doggies if you don't make it back?
Exactly! Northern operations are a bit unpredictable! The weather changes quickly and we can get "stuck" up north for many days if a blizzard rolls in! (I once stayed stuck for a week in Salluit) my husband works a regular office job and works from home so the doggies are always taken care of 🐶🐶

@Crew Nemes awesome!
@@TheBlizzardFlyer it’s so true, when you do something day to day one can loose sight of how great it is. Sometimes we all need to be reminded.
Noel Philips had such a grat experience with Inuit. You are the nicest crews I have ever seen. I love the Guillemot Legend paint scheme too. Subbed.

it's never too late!! flying and living in the north is such a life changing experience!
How cool is this that even in 2021 we're still finding use for those vintage planes from the '60's and 70's! Comment Below!
How many more planes left? And how often do they do maintenance check on it? Just curious. :)
There are only 77 of those left in service worldwide. The most majority of them are in Canada, as they are the only cargo jet able to land on gravel runways and most of northern runways aren’t paved. that's amazing! honestly the 200's are work horses! they may be aging, but even in 2021 there is a job for them! thank you for your well wishes!

I loved flying on the combi for Alaska Air. only 50 pax and two FA's well three but the third was up near the flight deck. It was so much fun..

Love it Great work with Noel
Awesome! Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching. Thank you!
Yes, I enjoyed that tour. It's always nice to know and learn something. Thank you for sharing.
You’re very welcome! This is now considered a « vintage » aircraft by today’s standards, but still very useful in northern operations!
Thank you for sharing! It is very interesting. Good job, well done!
I love this video especially watching Noel’s vlog too amazing work thank you for the content
My guy! This is the coolest idea for a TH-cam channel!! Keep it up!
Thank you Stacey! I’ll sure keep it up if you promise to keep watching ☺️

Thanks! I've taken quite a "long break" but maybe it's time to get this going again?
Just found your channel via a Noel Phillips video! Subscribed!
Great video, good to see how you live on the other side of the globe, Puvirnituq looks so remote , thanks,Jim from Glasgow Scotland 👍
It is insanely remote! Just like all communities in Nunavik (northern Quebec) it is fly-in only. There are no roads to get there!
Subscribed after watching Noel Phillip's video. Have you also met Alex Praglowski? I think he also flew this route.
I have…. Sorta! He was also on my flight but he kept such a low profile I never knew he was there! Which is a bummer!! He also would’ve gotten the grand tour!!
Interesting video Blizzard Flyer 👍👍….watching from Scotland 🏴
Awesome!! Thank you!! My partner and I would love to visit Scotland!
The milk plane/train of Quebec!
It sure is! All the food destined to the northern communities in Nunavik go through our planes :)
Great videos. I enjoyed the vlog!!!
feed those dogs good. cute pets
Yes they are adorable 🥰
Super video, je suis moi même flight attendant et j'adore ta manière de raconter ton métier. Génial et le grand Nord... Quelle aventure 😍

I wonder what will be the replacement for these 737-200 combis with gravel kit? Air Inuit and a few others, collected the last flying 737-200s.
I wonder too. I guess the local governments will have to take the steps necessary and the insane costs to pave the gravel runways so newer aircrafts can fly in…. Or airlines will have to rely more on turboprop aircrafts such as the Dash 8 🤷🏻♂️

Quick correction: I just reviewed the video and on that day, I was working on C-GAIG which doesn’t have any emergency equipment in the aft closet 🙊
I'd love to fly on a 200!
It’s quite the experience! 🤩

My luggage? It’s all our manuals and paperwork, as well as all the essentials should we get stuck somewhere… we always know when we leave for work, but never know when we come back!
3:28 - The cargo on this airplane is the only way that 'goods' get to Puvirnituq .
