      @@branruss1942 Jordan was the defining influencer on basketball culture as well as pop-culture during the 80's/90's and Iverson did the same in the 2000's with clothes, tattoos, music and style. how is that not a passing of the torch?

    I dunno if it's been said its been said in the comments or not, but putting popcorn in a rookies car is actually a sign of respect, it's meant to be a way of saying "rookie hazing is over, you're one of us now."
    It's not even ruining his car, but even if it was, the dudes gonna be a millionaire in two years easy, so I think the upgrade is coming.

    My dad when he was young liked to play pick up basketball in the 70's at Venice Beach, and if you don't know that is like the highest league of pick games. There was this dude who was the UCLA center and just got drafted in the nba and wanted to play some pick up games for fun and to stay warm. And he literally wiped the floor with everyone on the court. Dude was like 6 10, and crazy athletic, Made my dad realize the difference between good amateurs and professionals

      There's a quote that I really like, but I forget who it came from. It goes something like "The worst bench warmer in the NBA is so much closer to Michael Jordan than you ever will be to him (the worst bench warmer)". That really puts things in perspective lol

    The best thing you can do as a rookie in the NBA is just execute your rookie duties and take the hazing. The ones who push back or think they are too big for it just get it worse and for longer. Even guys like Shaq who was unstoppable as a rook and bigger than everyone stature wise took it like a champ. It's just a right of passage for players as the NBA is a brotherhood.

    • @nicksirmon2278
      @nicksirmon2278 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can tell who's never played team sports if you think that telling your teammates no as a rookie gets you major respect and they'll never f#ck with you again... And most of those small guards may seem short but you're comparing them next to 7"0 guys. Steph curry's 6"2', Allen Iverson 6"0' and James harden is 6"5' they're probably taller than you.

    These guys know nothing other then how many 3 point shots they can shoot...back in the day you just had to be good at the entire game...everything is negated now and its all about the 3 point shot...they have ruined true basketball...its become a joke...dont even watch anymore...the true total game ledgends are gone for good...Bird, Magic, Stockton, Malone, Barkley, Parrish, McHale, Wilkenson, Miller, Jordan, Kareem, Dr. J. , Doc Rivers, Shaq and all of the greats that actually could do everything are gone...and the rules make it impossible for the new ones to have the insight to have the ablilty to play anywhere on the court and play as a TEAM...the sport has lost its ability to truely play the game...its everyone for theirselves now...and its sad to see...and thats why they are losing their fans....you would think they would notice but its all about the money now...not the pride...sad...and by the way..im from Indiana where we live and breath basketball and have for decades...we know what it takes to learn the basics of the game and the true meaning of team and fundamentals .... we know that the word TEAM has no I in it. you cant fool a true basketball fan.
