New details of Gerald Goines' controversial past emerge as sentencing phase begins in murder trial

- The sentencing phase for former Houston Police Department narcotics officer Gerald Goines started Thursday morning, following his conviction on two counts of felony murder.
Former Chief Acevedo needs to be indicted soon
He fled to miami, where he got fired in less than six months. Now he's hiding out in aurora colorado.
