I did this recepie yesterday and for the first time, I was able to do a delicious pizza dough. My husband loves pizza but very particular about it he loved he didn't left any side crust left. Thank you.
My pizza finally came out delicious! This was my 2nd attempt at trying this recipe. There were many learning curves along the way. Here's a neat trick I learned. If you don't have a warming drawer or your oven cannot lower to 120 degrees, you can fill your sink with warm water, place the bowl with the dough and the lid on in the water, and cover the sink with saran wrap. This worked wonderfully when I needed my dough to rise. Also, with waking up the yeast, it took approximately 10-30min. I really appreciate the video. Now I can add this to my cooking arsenal.
Followed this recipe and made the best pizza I’ve ever had. Topped it with my dads tandoori chicken that I chopped up, some diced red onions and diced jalapeño. I added 1/8 tsp onion powder, 1/8 tsp onion powder to the flour. I also added 1/4 tsp of a mixture of dried Italian seasoning. I didn’t have pizza sauce so I used pasta sauce from a jar. I also made the dough by hand, all in one large stainless steel bowl as I don’t own a stand mixer. I kneaded the dough in the bowl as well. I split the dough to make two small pizzas
In college, I worked for a pizza delivery joint as a cook. Making dough every single morning and the roll ups for deep dish, thin and original crust, I learned how this all worked and still use the science for this day to make pizza dough. Pretty much the same.

@@diwinchester7965 I haven’t tried natashas but the one I’ve been using is Preppy’s. I just change some things about how he does it but the ingredients are all the same. He puts the flour mixture all at once but I do it little by little while the mixer is on. I also try not to put any extra flour because I don’t want a hard crust. (It’s ok for the dough to be sticky) Once the dough is done I cover it with plastic wrap and leave it to rest at least 4 hours room temp. then leave it in the fridge overnight. The next day I take it out at least 2 hours before making my pizzas. Then i preheat my oven to 550 (or the highest your oven will go to). Now first I just bake the crust without any sauce or toppings because for some reason if I don’t then it comes out raw and I don’t like that. Something I did last time was change my oven setting to broil so the crust can brown. Make sure to keep an eye on it because that happens very quickly (like 1 minute) That is all I change but I’m still experimenting with other changes to make because I want to have the best pizza recipe.

@@ricfootball I let it rise about an hour and that makes it doubled in size. Depending on how warm it is where you put it to rise it can be 45 min but for me it took an hour. I used this to make a broccoli sausage and cheese bread and it worked well too.
@@juliecardoso5422 Great, thanks Julie - I was hoping for less because I'm going to be pushed for time on date night on Valentines Day night (waiting for kids to go to bed, and want to make the dough together etc), but I only plan to make enough dough for one pizza to share, so with a warm place for it to rise and less dough maybe 40 mins will be enough and I can prepare the toppings during that time 🙂🍕
@@ThinkPraise I basically made it up. I took cooked cut up sausage, chopped broccoli and shredded mozzarella cheese and put it on the rolled out crust. I rolled it into a rectangle evenly spread out the broccoli and sausage on it, topped it with the cheese and then rolled it up jelly roll fashion and put it on parchment on a sheet pan. I cut slits in the top and baked it till it was done. You can season the filling if you want but I didn’t because I felt the sausage provided enough.

I've made so many recipes thanks to you I can't afford culinary school it's been my dream to go to culinary classes and stuff become a chef but thanks to you I can actually cook and because I'm more of a I like to see people doing it more than I read it it helps me more because I'm more of a watcher and a learner then a reader and learner I mean I like to read I enjoy reading don't get me wrong but like I need to see people when they cook because it'll give me the sense of okay this is how much this person adds so that's how much that I have to add if that makes any sense but I have all of your videos on a playlist I've made this pizza so many times to be honest but my family loves it I cook it every weekend every Friday it's homemade pizza Friday at my house lol but I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me how to cook ☺️
use whole milk mozzarella and grate it yourself. the shreded mozzarella has aa coating on it to keep it from sticking together in the bags but it also makes it drier tasting and it doesn’t;t melt as well If you use a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven for at least 30 minutes (i use 450F) and then slide your pizza onto it with a pizza peel or a cookie sheet. Just make sure your dough slides well on the peel or cookie sheet BEFORE you top it. That is why a lot of people use cornmeal under the dough. It works like ball bearings
It's 3:30pm and this pizza dough recipe is the great dinner I'm going to have, and this totally smashed my smile today ,thanks John. Stay safe and your lovely family.
Hi! I found this video by accident and decided to try this recipe for the first time. All I want to say that it went brilliant! My family enjoyed it very much, thank you🧑🏻🍳❤️
is this guy nuts adding 7 grams or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of yeast into 2 cups of flour. That will make the dough smell like beer. Most recipes call for 1/2 a teaspoon of yeast to 4 cups of flour. I though I added a lot by using 1 teaspoon to 4 cups of 00 (double zero) flour.
Grandson and I doubled your pizza dough recipe. Such a soft wonderful dough to knead. Let rise for an hour. Put it in a large cookie sheet, and loaded it with lots of fresh veges, pepperoni and cheese. Baked 350 for about 45 minutes. Delicious! Crispy on the bottom and good bread texture in the middle. Family loved it! Thanks! We really enjoy your channel!
First, this recipe is EXTREMELY easy to follow along with AND it doesn't require any fancy ingredients. Second, it came out absolutely amazing! My sister and bf were fighting for the last slice! 😭 This guy is my favorite ❤️ All of his recipes are just so easy and it made me love baking again. Just made this last night for family and they loved it! Put a little dried basil and onion powder in the dough and red sauce, mozerrella, parmesan, spinach, sausage and mushrooms on top! It was fantastic! loved the piece I had, but I'm gluten free, so can't eat it often/much of it, and I didn't want to mess with almond flour without knowing how to adjust/ calibrate. Do you have a gluten free recipe for equally as amazing pizza dough?? I know it's a tall ask....gluten free pizza crust usually tastes like cardboard.... but thought I'd ask because this was an awesome recipe. Thanks in advance!
So far all your recipes turned out awesome. Only difference i did was to “raise” the yeast as i learnt from my mother ( European) with adding sugar and yeast to warm water and putting it into toaster oven i heated for a minute so its warm like a texas summer day (100f) and let it bubble up for 10min. Then i did everything as you recommended, but i baked on 225F con. This was the softest fluffiest pizza dough i ever had in my life. Thank you
You don’t need that at all. No sugar needed. No warm water needed. The recipe is a disaster. Look up vincenzos plate which goes through this disaster of a video.

I just made this for my husband and he loved it! Thank you so much...
Every recipe of you I tried so far worked perfectly. Normally making bread and pizza dough is my absolute nemesis but this time it actually turned out beautiful. THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH. You saved me from a lot of frustration.
Hello John, yes I have been looking for the perfect Pizza Dough. Never found it until now! Just made it for lunch and was a huge success. As you say Pizza anytime, haha. Thank you for sharing this and all your other lovely recipes. You are a pleasure to watch and learn from. Thank you again. Kym, Edinburgh, Scotland.
I love how you’re so enthusiastic about the food you make, it honestly makes the videos ten times better
We made this tonight my teenager had so much fun & it came out perfectly thank you!
I just recently discovered this Channel and I’ve probably watched EVERY SINGLE VIDEO😂
Thank you and welcome to the channel!
me too!
I know, right? I’ve made several of the desserts already and they all worked very well. Can’t wait to try this, too.
Same here,...he seems like d most nicest person..,
Me too
“wake our little baby yeast up” so cute!! love your recipes ❤️❤️
Just finished eating this... OMG it's so good! I added garlic and herbs to the dough, and made a mix of bread crumbs, garlic and parmesan to put on the bottom and the crust. It was amazing! I'll definitely be making this again!! Thank you! First time watching any of your videos!
ay thanks i might try this with mine as well, sounds so tasty
But my yeast solution is not forming bubbles. I have been waiting since half an hour😢😢
@@shazia8840 hi, sounds like your yeast is dead. You'll need to buy some fresh yeast.
@nigpro not rlly, they r not using enough emojis unironically
Was the dough crispy or fluffy ??
My family loved our pizza. I made a supreme with everything I like. My kids made Italian sausage and pepperoni with mushrooms. The dough was the easiest! Thank you so much!!!
I’ve never made pizza dough before, so I’m glad to have come across your video. Thank you for a clear and easy instructions.
The way he describes everything makes things easier even for beginners.
I've watched this 4 times already, gonna watch this for another hour.😂
Same 😂
This has been the only recipe I’ve ever tried. No need to switch, because technique and recipe are on point. Add at least a tablespoon of dried rosemary, and you’re pizza will be banging good. If you have an ooni, that’s a plus!
But this guy. He brightens my day almost immediately! Literally, first 2 seconds into his videos.

I’ve made this 2 times so far and it is the easiest pizza I’ve ever made! It was a big hit too! Thank you for sharing it
How long do you leave the dough to rise, he doesn't say 🤔
@@ricfootball I let it rise about an hour and that makes it doubled in size. Depending on how warm it is where you put it to rise it can be 45 min but for me it took an hour. I used this to make a broccoli sausage and cheese bread and it worked well too.
@@juliecardoso5422 Great, thanks Julie - I was hoping for less because I'm going to be pushed for time on date night on Valentines Day night (waiting for kids to go to bed, and want to make the dough together etc), but I only plan to make enough dough for one pizza to share, so with a warm place for it to rise and less dough maybe 40 mins will be enough and I can prepare the toppings during that time 🙂🍕
@@juliecardoso5422 broccoli, sausage and cheese bread sounds so good. Where can I find the recipe?
@@ThinkPraise I basically made it up. I took cooked cut up sausage, chopped broccoli and shredded mozzarella cheese and put it on the rolled out crust. I rolled it into a rectangle evenly spread out the broccoli and sausage on it, topped it with the cheese and then rolled it up jelly roll fashion and put it on parchment on a sheet pan. I cut slits in the top and baked it till it was done. You can season the filling if you want but I didn’t because I felt the sausage provided enough.
6-27-22 John, sitting here enjoying homemade pizza. Must tell you that after MANY years of trying different pizza dough recipes I like yours the very best. It is so easy to prepare and it spread outs so easily. I use oil on it and my rolling pin to spread it. The crust browns nicely too. I use it to make one 14 inch pizza with homemade sauce. I have tried so many of your recipes and have enjoyed every one. Thank you John.
Thank u ,love everything u post. I made this pizza dough. It was the best ever pizza.

But my yeast solution is not forming bubbles. I have been waiting since half an hour😢😢
@@shazia8840 it doesn't have to be completely bubbly at the top of the mixture, as for me it was just a few bubbles and worked in rising the dough
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I made it with my children and they had a blasting making pizza with mommy. It was my first time making a homemade pizza & it was beautiful getting to share this experience with them. They love making pizza now. ❤
I love that you talk and include the culinary desires of your kidlets. My daughter asked for pizza several minutes after I watched this video in another room and I immediately thought I'm going to try this dough recipe. 😁

I've made so many recipes thanks to you I can't afford culinary school it's been my dream to go to culinary classes and stuff become a chef but thanks to you I can actually cook and because I'm more of a I like to see people doing it more than I read it it helps me more because I'm more of a watcher and a learner then a reader and learner I mean I like to read I enjoy reading don't get me wrong but like I need to see people when they cook because it'll give me the sense of okay this is how much this person adds so that's how much that I have to add if that makes any sense but I have all of your videos on a playlist I've made this pizza so many times to be honest but my family loves it I cook it every weekend every Friday it's homemade pizza Friday at my house lol but I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me how to cook ☺️
use whole milk mozzarella and grate it yourself. the shreded mozzarella has aa coating on it to keep it from sticking together in the bags but it also makes it drier tasting and it doesn’t;t melt as well
If you use a pizza stone, preheat it in the oven for at least 30 minutes (i use 450F) and then slide your pizza onto it with a pizza peel or a cookie sheet. Just make sure your dough slides well on the peel or cookie sheet BEFORE you top it. That is why a lot of people use cornmeal under the dough. It works like ball bearings
I watched both of your dough recipes. Made my first from scratch pizza tonight. Hubby gave it rave reviews!
Thank you!
John, you are so naturally entertaining while you teach us how to bake. I enjoy watching your videos and learning so much. God Bless you!
Are you reading my mind? I just told my husband I want to make homemade pizzas this weekend and was about to look for a dough recipe 😊 what luck!

I just made this tonight for dinner and it was incredible I infused fresh dill into the crust I will surly be making this more thanks John!
Hello 👋 how are you doing
Hello, hope you are good?....
Made fruit tarts thanks to you now I’m going to try pizza.
is this guy nuts adding 7 grams or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of yeast into 2 cups of flour. That will make the dough smell like beer. Most recipes call for 1/2 a teaspoon of yeast to 4 cups of flour. I though I added a lot by using 1 teaspoon to 4 cups of 00 (double zero) flour.
I've been making homemade pizza for the last 16 years and I loved this video John!
Hi how are you doing, hope you are having a wonderful and blessed day?
Hello, hope you are good??????
I soo love your videos. Always fool-proof and the best, I only watch you for cooking.
Thank you for posting
Grandson and I doubled your pizza dough recipe. Such a soft wonderful dough to knead. Let rise for an hour. Put it in a large cookie sheet, and loaded it with lots of fresh veges, pepperoni and cheese. Baked 350 for about 45 minutes. Delicious! Crispy on the bottom and good bread texture in the middle. Family loved it! Thanks! We really enjoy your channel!
That is not pizza!
Baked for 45 minutes!!! 😮
Why 45 minutes?
First, this recipe is EXTREMELY easy to follow along with AND it doesn't require any fancy ingredients. Second, it came out absolutely amazing! My sister and bf were fighting for the last slice! 😭 This guy is my favorite ❤️ All of his recipes are just so easy and it made me love baking again. Every one of his recipes that I've tried always come out exactly as I expect. 10/10
So glad someone made a video with very detailed dough instructions, using a mixer. Thanks for including the dough's awkward stages -- very helpful. (Also, your kitchen is fabulous).
An advise, do not cook this it is a bad recipe for your digestion
not a good recipe... way, way too much yeast for that amount of flour. you probably won't feel good after eating this pizza
These two people have been watching certain reaction videos 😂
They are totally right though, this recipe is TERRIBLE!
@@joddle23 so the problem is only in amount of yeast? So, how much yeast is suppossed to be in it normaly for that amount of flour?
he helped me very much i needed an easy pizza crust recipe because recently at work a brand new mixer was purchasd, what a chef.
I've tried this recipe so many times and it didn't dissapoint me! This recipe is so perfect for the first time baker! Highly recommended. Thank u preppy kitchen for the amazing recipe. Your TH-cam channel is my go to when it comes to recipes👌
Did it the second time, man that dough is great and everything tastes wonderful. Thanks
Thank you
P.s. and i used Italian imported flour. 😅
You don’t need that at all. No sugar needed. No warm water needed. The recipe is a disaster. Look up vincenzos plate which goes through this disaster of a video.
Thanks for sharing this video my first pizza it came out so delicious my husband love it thanks so much😇
How long did it take to proof the dough? Thanks for the recipe.
