"He has his father's eyes." This simple statement, delivered ever so softly by the estimable Sidney Blackmer, begins one of the creepiest denouements on film. Best. Leo.

regarding the elevator attendant-elevators didn’t use to have buttons, just a lever to make them go up and down and stop, so a trained elevator operator was common until the 80s!

They had them in department stores, too and they would announce the floors and their goods as the elevator doors opened on each floor. They were usually pretty young women in uniforms, like Shirley Maclaine's character in 'The Apartment".

The apartment building is the Dakota. Years after this film was made, John Lennon was assassinated in front of it.

I checked the comments to make sure someone mentioned this. I've seen The Dakota in person, it's a beautiful, but creepy building.

I have a funny true story about your shirt El Papa (the Pope). When the Pope went to Mexico years ago, an American wanted to make a small fortune on sales, so he created hundreds of shirts to sell that said " I saw the Pope" in Spanish. Unfortunately he was not a Spanish speaking individual ( as I am, hopefully you are) , and created a shtload of shirts that said "Vi la papa" instead of "Vi El Papa" , i saw the potato

Roman Polanski - monstrous man, sad story, great director. Half of his films are so fantastically terrifying that people don't want to see them again, too frightened. He was in one of the ghettos in Poland when the Nazis moved in, he managed to escape before they got on the train, don't think his parents survived, spent the rest of the war on the run. His wife Sharon Tate was killed by the Manson family in her last months of pregnancy. I feel sorry for Sharon Tate and sorry for any survivor of the Holocaust, but I'll never say that excused him raping that young girl. She said that as horrible as it was what happened next was almost worst because she fell like everyone was trying to recreate her either as the daughter of the monstrous mother, a Lolita or a voiceless victim, and that the judge, lawyers and reporters involved were trying to make their own name on her experience and that everyone was forcing her to talk about it before she actually ready to talk about it.
As monstrous as I find him though and though I still think he looks like a rat (and looks crazy) he's still a great director though I feel guilty to say so. His other movies include 'The Tenant', 'Chinatown', 'The Pianist' (won Adrien Brody the Oscar), 'Repulsion' and 'Tess'

Hey Nick, this is the fifth movie reaction of yours I'm watching in a row, I've been subscribed for a few weeks, but I'm finally delving into your past videos, you do such a great job on all these that I've watched, and I'm looking forward to whatever else you end up doing. I like that you have a wide variety of movies that you react to, including this creepy movie!

That is Mia Farrow singing the theme song at the beginning and end of the movie, it was Polanski’s idea. At the beginning of the movie (ideally if it’s your first time seeing it) the singing and the song are like a sweet lullaby, it’s not scary. At the end of the movie it’s extremely disturbing, as if Rosemary has gone insane and is stuck in her new role as mother to Satan’s son and singing a lullaby to it.

My big sisters dragged my Mom to see this when it came out. She hated horror movies. I managed to get tagged along. It was the first movie I ever saw that had nudity in it. The pretty woman who plays Rosemary's ill-fated neighbor is Victoria Vetri, who, as Angela Dorian, was a Playboy Playmate of the Year. She also starred as a cavewoman in "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth."

Nothing to this movie. A woman just gets drugged, raped by Satan and has his baby. Nothing hit the theater like this until 1968. This and The Exorcist were groundbreaking films for their time. You need to check out the original 1975 version of The Stepford Wives. Nobody has touched that movie and I highly recommend it. Thanks 👍
