I've been watching this for a very long time and have been pleased through all the ups and downs and the positive friendly work being done! Congratulations from Alberta Canada; Cheers!
When I was growing up the furnace lived in a room made of concrete blocks. Partly because what if the furnace exploded, and partly due to worries about carbon monoxide. This was before CO detectors.
Also a consideration for the hidden storage space-consider having it wired with an outlet to store and charge a cordless vacuum cleaner (Hoover). It could make upkeep easier. I have a cordless vacuum I use frequently but find it frustrating to not have an outlet inside a closet to both store it and recharge it.
Billy & Yanis both enjoy taking down walls! How both enjoy & learn from the Pethericks. Thank you! I am overdue for another lengthy, detailed dream about the convent. I am an old lady & get joy from this extended family!!!
Definitely glass in the basement window - preferrably double glazed to allow natural light in - always a plus 👍. How is the progress with Marie to get access to your rear garden via the adjacent car park to enable diggers, trucks etc., to come/go, rather than having to negotiate with your neighbour from time to time? Hopefully progressing. Great to see your dad back "on-site". 👍
You're all multi talented, really amazing. And what I like best is how you work together in harmony and great respect. I guess this is one part why we love to watch almost every day.
Glad you are using the small spaces in the library for storage. Amazing how useful they will be later on to keep items that you want nearby but out of the way.
Well done crew! You looked like you were enjoying yourself drilling holes today Billy! Bit of exploration and drilling. Great idea to use the old pipe. Saved a lot of work. It’ll be great to get the library heating done and to allow you to start finishing the library. And Mick and Yanis are working well outside. Yanis looked fascinated with the laser level. Glad there will be no pool. A lot of work, expense and ongoing maintenance required with a pool. Look forward to the library progressing. 👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Billy, your dad is amazing. Seeing the now grassed expanse and the new levelling work, his skills are great. And Yannis, continues to expand his own skill set. What a team you have😊
Thanks for filming making that hole through the concrete floor! I have to make a similar hole in a wall and I've been putting it off because I wasn't sure how it would turn out using that method and that looks fine.
The ground was boggy along that wall with the weed cover initial grading fixed and now to level,Mr Petherick senior for future building works . Interesting inside and out though still very cold .
The Basement door? Why not make it a bifold door? As it would fold away and not block your path to the basement? The center hinge would be hidden away and the door will look the same when closed as it does now. All it would change is the hinges for the right door to be moved to the center the latch also would move far right and latch in the door jam.
That will be another great video or two to watch - getting those big tanks out - at least there are some doors to the garden but even so - bigl task!!!!
A bunch of years ago, Lord Carnarvon and his grandson discovered over 300 ancient Egyptian artifacts hidden in Highclere Castle. They were in cupboards between doors like you are doing! The artifacts were from Howard Carters discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb!
Phew Billy. I was really worried that you were going to waste that space behind/besides the bookshelves. It's nice to hear that you are going to make that space accessible and use it to store things that'll be needed in the room from time to time, but not every day.
I live in North Carolina, a retired woman of 66. I enjoy watching your and wish I was 30 years younger to do some of these things myself. Please tell Yannis he is adorable!
Billy the mesh window protection could get damaged by the weather conditions and that may be why the inside of the window was blocked up , plus it could have been blocked to stop water coming in during heavy rain fall .
You guys are truly admirable! You are the Leonardo Da Vinci's of renovation. You tackle so many jobs, strive for perfection, get things done efficiently. Admirable!
Hi Billy and crew. Billy I gather you don't have venomous spiders there like we do here in Australia. Even in Tasmania we have red backs and funnel webs that can give a very nasty bite to even death. Basements and brick walls even sub-floors are ideal places for them to live in. The convent is really changing huh. I love watching you all.
Billy, you don't want outdoor areas to be level. It is very important to have proper drainage, so soil should slant away from structures (buildings and walls). You don't need large differences in elevation, perhaps a 2 inch drop for every 3 to 6 feet of distance. You might have a local municipality or soil and water district that can advise you on backyard elevations.
I love the knowledge that Mitch has passed on to his sons and daughter. When I watch you with your children, i see a gentle teaching style that I would guess you learned from your parents. I am astounded at the range of your skills,
Billy, I hope you see this message. You are the hardest worker I've ever seen, I have enjoyed all your videos and the progress you've made is incredible. I wish you all the luck in the world with the convent and the chateau. You deserve it. And Yanus is reallly a great side kick. He works hard also.
Billy, while you digging that crud out with you bare hands, thank you for not screaming that something got you, i was so engrossed i would jumped and swore
What is the end goal of the convent once all the repairs are done.. hotel ? . retreat away from the world ? .. and where are you planning on gathering all the books from to fill that vast library as I only have a small library on my landing but I must have near on 500 books just to fill my small space so I can't begin to imagine how many you will need to fill yours
Billy - Please consider conducting an interview with your Dad for an episode. He is am interesting gentleman.
Yanis is such a cool guy. Love how willing he is to learn and take on any task he’s given.
Billy, Yanis is such an asset aswell as being funny. Glad he didn't go back to Paris with his mate.
he’s part of the family now!
He's now an official Petherick Billy @@ThePethericks
The smile on your face while you were making the hole bigger was priceless. 😂 You really do enjoy demolition, don’t you. ❤
Your dad has so many skills. What a blessing he is to you.
No matter what Yanis is asked to do, he always does so willingly and with attention to detail! He is a gem to keep!! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Yanis is the absolute BEST! No matter who he works with he's always eager to do whatever needs to be done!
Billy you sound a lot better!!😊
💚Your Dad has worked miracles out in the garden Billy. I'm always amazed seeing it each time...remembering what it was.
Gosh Billy, what would you ever do without your Dad. He’s a treasure!
lovely to see your dad back at the Convent, he is a machine! 🤩
I love how you get at it and accomplish a task or two in every video Billy. Yanis is such a pro now.
I've been watching this for a very long time and have been pleased through all the ups and downs and the positive friendly work being done! Congratulations from Alberta Canada; Cheers!
Hey fellow Albertan! I enjoy this channel as well. From Edmonton originally but now live abroad
Hello! Alberta born here! Trapped in Ontario! LOL
St Albert here.
vancouver bc here
Calgary here!
The convent looks more and more beautiful with each video, and you and Yannis and Mick, are so diligent and hard working.
When I was growing up the furnace lived in a room made of concrete blocks. Partly because what if the furnace exploded, and partly due to worries about carbon monoxide. This was before CO detectors.
You’ve got a little something dangling off your cap there, Johnny! 😂
Love seeing Mick again!
I love the golden glow of the kitchen. I’m still in awe of how beautiful it is.
It’s reminiscent of the honey colored stone of the cotswolds
I totally agree x it has a very special light and ambiance
Whooo hooo Papa Petherick! Welcome back sir. Greetings to Billy and Yanis too.
Thanks Billy, Yanis and Dad Petherick ❤ great video ❤
Billy , that window could be spit in half. Top glass and the bottom solid with the AC lines running out the bottom. The best of both worlds.
definitely, i was thinking something like that earlier! letting some light in would be nice 👌
Why not use some glass bricks? 😊
Consider what a life-changing actions are you are taking by exposing Yanis to so many skills. Bravo for you.
Ohhh would be so nice to get the basement all clean and rough painted… would be a beautiful space for food storage to support the kitchen.
Love the color of the doors❤❤
Thank you all again for an enjoyable video.
Great idea 💡
Those doors are beautiful.
Grat job Mick Billi and Yanis. You all work so hard
Another fine day of work, Thank you for the video
Billy & Yanis both enjoy taking down walls!
How both enjoy & learn from the Pethericks.

Yanis is so cute, what a delight to watch and hear him speak….
Billy, the kitchen is absolutely beautiful!!! You are amazing with all you have accomplished!!
Your getting there Billy! Well done

A channel of positive things to enjoy.
Thank You.
YES!!! in a world full of war and tragedy and negativity Billys Channel is an oasis of fun!
Glad you are using the small spaces in the library for storage. Amazing how useful they will be later on to keep items that you want nearby but out of the way.
Excellent episode and great progress! Thank you all! ❤😊
Great job(s) Billy, Mick and Yanis!!!
Another great video. The things you all manage to do amazes me.

Love watching you all work together. So much appreciation and respect for each other. Great!
Creating the cavities between the two rooms was a great idea Billy ❤😊🇦🇺
Thanks for filming making that hole through the concrete floor! I have to make a similar hole in a wall and I've been putting it off because I wasn't sure how it would turn out using that method and that looks fine.
Billy, I so enjoy watching you, Yanis, your dad & everyone that you have on! You all are so amazing ❤
Another fabulous video!! Thx for the share
Janis you have become a professional, well done everyone for the fantastic job done by you all
The ground was boggy along that wall with the weed cover initial grading fixed and now to level,Mr Petherick senior for future building works . Interesting inside and out though still very cold .
Before oil the convent was likely heated with a coal fired boiler that may have been a coal bin.
Todays end pose 9/10 - A great double thumbs up by Yanis👍👍 It has been a long time since the last double thumbs up😊
Thank you for sharing 😊

Loved the little dangly bit off your cap Billy, made me laugh! The levelling process for the yard was very interesting. Bring on the heat! 🇨🇦❤️
Those tanks will have some scrap value ! 😊
I am a mole and I live in a hole - sorry, couldn’t resist 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 well done Billy, Mick and Yanis 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💙💙💙
Well done, guys!
The one thing that convent has in abundance is a load of water pipes full of rusty water.
the basement is full of it! one week we need to clear the whole lot out including the boiler and tanks
@@ThePethericksThat would be very satisfying!
@@ThePethericks Will be fab video to watch - can't wait!
Im still in love with the wooden windows and door. Still takes my breath away.
They have a rich color, adding to the convent not taking anything away.
Here’s Billy! 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
When the basement will be all cleared of everything that wasn't originally there. It will look great show it's character.
That will be another great video or two to watch - getting those big tanks out - at least there are some doors to the garden but even so - bigl task!!!!
Billy, i love the picture of you on the video 🌼
A bunch of years ago, Lord Carnarvon and his grandson discovered over 300 ancient Egyptian artifacts hidden in Highclere Castle. They were in cupboards between doors like you are doing! The artifacts were from Howard Carters discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb!
Ive been to highclere, had the most amazing tour! 100% worth a visit
Love watching you. Hello from Prince Edward Island Canada.
You should have said it. The basement scene makes the saying so much more appropriate! Spooky stuff!
Keep up the great work 👍
This is very interesting. Wonder what's next. Stay safe and warm
Love your videos wish they were longer.
Billy - with that moustache - all you need is a red and green outfit and your Super Mario!!
LOL
Love how you teach Janis then leave him to it!

Here's Johnny......
Kind of expected a puppet show 😂
My thoughts exactly!
Great work everyone 🤗👍🤗👍🤗👍
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Billy when you take out boiler make sure of protection I.e. marks as old pipes and boilers were lagged in aspestos. Take care.
Heres Billy !!!! (Johny) lol
You guys are truly admirable! You are the Leonardo Da Vinci's of renovation. You tackle so many jobs, strive for perfection, get things done efficiently. Admirable!
I was watching for a shadow nun in a corner, that was creepy. 😳
After seeing all those beautiful doors you've put in, I wish I had nice doors in my apartment.
Yanis is a TREASURE - What a win/win - he has mastered so many life skills and given back in exchange. LOVE his positive attitude !

Great idea for the wall spaces. If you have to put up the tables and chairs
I love "let's make a hole" videos..😅
Could the watertanks be turned into grills for future barbecues? It would be kinda cool. 😄
that’s the coolest idea 💡
@ThePethericks And maybe icetubs for the beer.. 😁
Or smokers
I love the knowledge that Mitch has passed on to his sons and daughter. When I watch you with your children, i see a gentle teaching style that I would guess you learned from your parents. I am astounded at the range of your skills,
though the holes were rather small, they had to count them all
Breaking through the wall all i could think was "The Petherick Redemption", Billy Petherick escapes from Convent Penitentiary. Great job Billy!
Here is Billy!!
😂 love that film
Billy I love that kitchen, its stunning.
I love watching you and your crew work! You explain everything so well! I can’t wait till it’s all done, to see the fruits of your labors! Thank you

Maybe it was a coal shoot and a coal storage room?
could have been
Lots of interesting small jobs - Dad and Yanis have transformed your garden amazing!
Maybe it had been an escape route? Still have to find that treasure.
I want that kitchen
Fairly new to the channel. What will this convent be used for?
The plan is for retreats which I think Gwendolyn, Billy’s wife/partner will run. X
Thanks for sharing!! ❤❤❤👳♀️❤❤❤
