I just flop it to the side, no need to drain refrigerant or disconnect lines.

Definitely, when it comes to doing things well, there are no words, so all videos of this type should be to the point and without so much talk, excellent video, I congratulate you.

I can't get to the torque convertor books. Have you jacked up the engine to be able to get to the torque convertor books? I did the same, but still couldn't get to them. What's your secret? 😅

Good job man, I just want to ask you if the 3.7 process is the same as the 4.7 Commander? Thanks man

Thanks! 😁 I've done those as well and it's very similar to this one here. 👍

@@CarMechaNick thanks man, I'm currently removing the 4.7 v8 engine right now, my problem is the cover on the torque converter bolts is thick aluminum (unlike the 3.7 which is a plate i rhink) that I can't remove, so I can't access the torque converter bolts

You have to loosen motor mount bolts, enough for the engine to lift. Then you use a single post jack on the oil pan. Use a 2x4 or piece of wood between jack stand and pan. Lift the motor enough to remove and the just let it rest on motor mount bolts. I remove the nut so I can just pull the motor out. 🤪 hope that helps! The HEMI is a little more annoying than the 4.7.

How long did this take you? I currently have no compression in cylinder 2 & so i have to replace piston rings. i have to do this, without a lift 😫

Holy shit dude, how’s this job treating you? Not fun I would imagine it’s not a push rod engine so doing it at home sucks that much more.

    • @sunnyjohnson3929

@@CarMechaNick some small piece of metal got into the combustion chamber and tapped the head & cracked the piston for cylinder 2. I replaced the piston, rings, rod bearings, decked the head, head gasket & oil pan gasket myself in my driveway. Removing the passenger side engine mount definitely made this job easier. First time doing something this extreme so the feeling i had upon completion was indescribable lmao Took me a total of about 4 days lol i wouldve been done sooner but i had to wait for parts & go to work. Saved myself 4k 🤌🏾
