We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! We also go to occasional auctions and recently have gotten into regenerative farming/agriculture. We are all about learning how to improve our fields/soil.

I can't believe they charged $5,000 for Oliver. That is crazy!! Poor Oliver, he just needed a good home, and he got stuck with greedy, uncaring people. Thank goodness you have him now!!

They possibly got word of the campaign for him... and that he wouldn't be left unbought to go for slaughter. I agree... the price compared to what you see in auctions on video seemed very high considering his poor condition.
On the previous auction video, JR tried to bid $3,500 for Oliver. The owner “no saled” at that price bc she wanted $5k. I don’t believe his price went up due to the campaign to save him. I do agree that his previous owner was selfish and greedy.

It’s amazing that the breeder came forward and said that he was healthy and was willing to discuss Oliver. That speaks volumes about the quality of the breader and then about horse traders. My heart breaks for that sweet colt and the misery he endured but thank God for his good fortune to find people that care!! Kisses to sweet Oliver!!
I agree. If things were sensible in this world, cruel horse traders would be arrested, shut in a small place, starved, no caring visitors, no medicines, no hygiene, no fresh water.

It was the original owner was willing g to talk. The 2nd owner sent Ollie to the auction I believe.
$5000 for a sick, malnourished, half-starved horse? That's outrageous! I'm so happy for Oliver! He's such a good sweet boy and he never deserved to be treated so horribly. I love his story and seeing him grow and thrive under your excellent care will be a treat for all of us. I give God all the glory! ❤️❤️❤️
I know I'm not the only person who was heartbroken at that first auction, when you couldn't buy him. So glad you persisted! You can tell in the videos what a sweetheart he is. And that's kind of amazing.

Poor Oliver. It's hard to believe that the previous owner had him at the auction as a no sale for $5,000. If you had not taken an interest in saving Oliver he surely would not have survived. You have a lovely family and their happiness and joy in helping him is heartwarming.
❤❤❤ I am at home and disabled I lost 75% of my eyesight about 7 years ago and I was a real horse lover I can't ride right now I'm hoping someday I can ride again but seeing Oliver rescued and loved is helping my heart. Give him a hug from his auntie Kimberly😂

Terrible what can happen to a healthy one year old in just one year after being sold.
There must be so many Olivers out there who have gone through the same.
Oliver is a beacon highlighting the plight of all those other one year olds... many of whom probably won't live to see a third year.
What you are doing for Oliver and involving so many people in making it possible is heart warming

That 'facility' you **bought Oliver from was a ****** DISGRACE. How many of those horses have now died from neglect and starvation - are there no humane societies empowered to inspect and regulate living standards. I'm furious on behalf of you, and the horses.
I know this was in the past, and you've all moved on from it and got on with healing him and giving him the chance to fulfil his potential now he's grown and healthy. Thank you so much for that, JR and family. 🙏

I hope that woman’s AWFUL starvation facility is shut down & she’s never allowed to keep, sell, starve horses again. Tragic hearing of the Clydesdales sick @ dying there. So sweet seeing Oliver tucking into his feed now. That Amish man must be so relieved you rescued Oliver. Oliver sure looked strong & healthy when he left the Amish breeder!

I theink Oliver felt a bit sad to be on the set for the inventory of his expense report from the new acquisitions committee. It’s all about the money I costed with these guys he is thinking. Horses (some, this one, plenty of others….aren’t just not dumb folks, they hear -and say-plenty.
But yeah, definitely keep feeding him, apparently he’s worth a lot of money!!

It’s a crazy amount of money to score off this poor guy. It’s just bad for his self esteem to make him part of this kind of conversation and then follow it up with this big fuss over his donations. I wouldn’t do it that way anyways.😮😢

@@Laurencemardon aka Troll. I think Oliver liked all his new things! I don't think the camera bothers him at all. He likes the company of people if u have been watching all the videos. He likes being cared for properly, and appreciated, talked to, included, pampered & LOVED. He liked the Purine equine feed they gave him, his bridle thing was a bit too big but he has some growing to do still...but he didn't even care when they tried it on him. He LOVES the apple treats that he will be sharing with his stall buddies cuz he got so many! And NO they didn't "score" off of saving Oliver. His price, travel expenses, his feed, his medicines, vet visits, & (farrier costs are higher for a Clydesdale usually) cost money that the previous owners obviously didn't fork out. The previous owner got 5K but do u think all that is going to properly care for a 100 horses down there? Why don't u go find out what those people are doing w all that cash, instead of trolling ppl that are trying to do good. I thought it was great that they showed his gifts & appreciated & recognized the people who gave them. And nobody cares if the video was "out of order" ....geez....get a life!

While I was glad to hear about where Oliver came from originally, and I have always known those horse auctions are frequently not good places, I continue to find it very sad and very disturbing as to where Oliver subsequently ended up before he got to you. And I know he would have died had you not gotten involved. So a really big, heartfelt THANK YOU to HH and everyone who financially contributed and is contributing for Oliver. ❤🙏🐎👏👍

The zimecterin, vet wrap and one of the salt blocks is from me. As someone who grew up with horses the zimecterin brand is what we always used. Vet wrap is just always nice to have and you never know when you'll need to use it, it can be used for any of the animals.

When I saw the photo of Oliver at the point when the Amish farmer sold him I was utterly shocked and appalled! Such a handsome, healthy boy! To see his devastating decline was heatbreaking. He was not only physically healthy but emotionally healthy, a lively, happy young animal. Are there no regulations governing these auction houses and other entities in that chain? I am probably hoping against hope that there are. If anybody can repair this boy, give him what he needs, it's obviously y'all. Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Wonderful to confirm Oliver had a good start as a baby- so important. Genealogy research is commendable and a joy to learn that mama was a gentle giant. Apple juice "CHEERS" to getting on with business as usual with Oliver in the ranks of a village of healthy happy humans.

His original breeder giving ya’ll pointers for how to handle and help him regain his health is so heartwarming. Oliver is so blessed that ya’ll got him from that retched environment! I know he’s got a long road to recovery from the abuse and neglect he’s been through, but he’s young, and he’s got his momma’s temperment, so it’s only upwards from here!~ 💙

I’m so glad you & Oliver were in the same place at the same time, the night you first saw him. God knows where he would be right now if you hadn’t searched for him after that night. In my mind, you finding him is proof that Oliver is right where he’s meant to be. He has a ways to go, but there’s already been improvement. He’s not the pitifully sad fella he was. Take comfort in the fact that He is using Oliver and you to bring all these generous and loving viewers to perform acts of kindness, in His name, whether they realize it, or not. Your viewers generosity, and your own gratitude, are palpable, and warms my heart.

Who knows, maybe one day he can be part of a 2 horse mini- Budweiser event at local/regional fairs/events. He would probably love a buddy to do that with. You never know....
I'm so happy 😊for you finding out about Oliver's original owner. I got tears in my eyes seeing what handsome guy he was with good care. I'm can't imagine how sad it was for his Amish breeder to see his condition now. I think he definitely takes after his dam in disposition. Thank you and all who have reached out to help Oliver. We have rescued many little fellers in our lives. We call them “Lottery Winners”. Oliver is certainly a Lottery Winner!
Oliver's gonna grow into and likely out of it in time, speaking of the halters. As a horse owner, I know they will be used and are greatly appreciated.

As a person who bred horses on a very small scale, this was my worst nightmare. That one of my "babies" ended up with someone who didn't care. So glad that Oliver found a good home after what he's been through.
I can't believe that "horrible" person charged you 5,000 dollars for a horse that is in such poor condition 😢she should be ashamed of herself I'm curious how much Oliver's original owner " the Amish gentleman" sold him to her for 🤔. You should ask him. I realize draft horses of any kind are expensive $$ But a horse in Oliver's condition, should have been sold for much less!! GREED, GREED, GREED!! IM just thankful you kind, loving, people got him and are willing to do whatever it takes to help him get better and live the best life he possibly can. I absolutely love the Oliver videos! I like all the other videos of your other horses also but Oliver is special. The condition he was in when you got him was horrifying and unconscionable. If you could please let us know, should you hear anything that has been done about the lady who took such lousy care of her horses it would be greatly appreciated. The woman absolutely needs to be held accountable!

You've got a fly problem and you have water. I'd put up lots of Swallow boxes for a natural control solution.

Oliver has a lot of souls that just want to set his future right vicariously through your efforts and commitment.
You probably already know, but a cheap roll of wrap works great to lift those features to treat or trim eventually.

I do not even want to know how Oliver got to be in such dire straits. Now your family and internet folks are showering him with goodies and love. His breeder can relax knowing his colt made it into good hands. Oliver does have gentle, kind eyes like his mother. Maybe one day they can visit one another again?

For the strongest hooves add ¼ teaspoon of flowers of sulfur to his daily regimen. It also helps the coat come in so soft, and helps with shedding. Sulfur is everywhere in the body so its very important. I can't afford to send you any but the advice is free! ❤❤❤ to Oliver and everyone helping him.

God put Oliver in your path so you and all of your viewers could come together and save this baby, he’s meant to be with you, I hope you give this much consideration even when the time comes and he’s is healthy again!! Things happen for a reason! Some things just aren’t accidents, they’re intentional, I really hope everyone involved never gives upon him! Until his last days!

Thanks for sharing Oliver with us. So many broken things out there; there's something about trying to make good on what the world has got wrong, even in a small way, that grabs hold of the heart and makes it seem worth it to dig in and fight back.
