Woooow! Here I am 6 days out from the end of my semester and I'm just now finding this out. Thank God my accounting class has make ups for the next 6 days! I asked the Lord to help me and this is where He led me and I'm so glad He did! Definitely a new subscriber. I know I am 9 years late but....... when I say this has saved me tremendously with my current class. This even helped with doing the review questions for my Med Tech classes. Thank you so much for keeping these videos. I have been taking notes from these videos. I kid you not the first two sentences has had all the info needed for my review questions. Rewriting the objectives in question form has helped me get the understanding of the chapters retaining what I've read. Thank you, thank you.
Wow I'm glad I found this video. I used the technique, and I retain so much more information. With 4 classes I would just read the chapters like a newspaper falling asleep every 5 minutes or 3 minutes. I would never read the information on the sides and graphs, or "see figure blahblah". Using your technique I realized most of the needed information is on the sides, summaries, and end questions. My classes are much easier!! I have 5 now and I have combined this technique with Pomodoro. The crazy part is I can answer the learning objective questions without having to read the first 2 sentences in the paragraphs. School textbooks are one of the biggest known scams with fluff and filler haha. Thank you so much !! I'm going to breeze through the rest of the reading assignments.

I was taught this in a time management class offered during my nursing course at my college. I wish someone would have taught me this in grade school or junior high
I had to do a book report once doing a similar method I made up. I got a good grade on it thank God, I was really worried about it, but I took too many classes that semester and had too many papers to write to spend more time on the book report. This is a better more comprehensive system.
I can’t believe I went through all of highschool not knowing this! Would have saved me so much time. When I read everything word for word I end up zoning out or the words just not sticking in my head.

My teacher calls on me a lot when we are in class discussing our information. I don't get to finish all of my readings because it's so much, and I have some many classes. I will try your method .Thanks.
Guess you could do it this way if you want to pass your tests and exam. But if you want higher grades you've got to deep study and learn it all. Good as a base, though. My advice is to go to the register of terms in the back of the book. Information about terms are spread all over a chapter, or a book. And by consulting the register, you can bullet journal the terms from all pages where they are found and get a more complete picture. Don't forget to write the book page after all Bullet lines. You may also make so called Mind-Maps to simplify your learning. Bulky long texts are, in my opinion, making it hard to learn. As an active reader you must analyse the text and write down the facts that apply numbering them or sort them A, B, C etc. You ask questions and try to answer them by searching the text. I wish school book authors spared us that effort by doing all this beforehand in the book. It would make it so much easier.

Now I have cut down study time and retaining more information. I wish I would have done this while I was in college for 5yrs of my life many moons ago. But anywho thanks again.

I'm an online student and I have to read and take notes on 13 chapters before Sunday when I have to take my end of course quiz and the paragraphs are split into section with a bold title above every paragraph. There are some italicized words in the reading but in Addiction and Substance abuse they do not have a section with objectives or key words like in all my other classes I'm going into my second year of college and my grade is a 97 but I'm very worried about this test and how much reading I have to do.
