Not entirely clear if this is the Y300 or P300 so if someone knows for sure please let me know in the comments, I believe the cores are the same across these models though I mention on video the lock is about 30 years old, I'm fairly certain I'm wrong about the age and think I was remembering a different set of locks, it's still old just not THAT old This is a tougher than usual padlock due to the very long skinny spools & excellent tolerances, seeing it inside for the first time and with some experience it's apparent why I had so much trouble with this in the early days
Brilliant Paul 😉👍 That first soil looks like the ones Larham's Hardware puts in their dimple run cylinders. They used to put two in but I believe they upgraded and filled their locks with security pins. My Mrs doesn't like me picking locks near to her because of all the clicking sounds 😂 Funny thing is sometimes she's knitting away clicking next to me 😂.
Thanks for that Roy, these are the longest spools I've come across and it just make this lock a joy to pick.., as for my wife she just has this bemused look on her face every time she sees me picking a lock 🤣
@@paulg413 little unknown fact is this yale is actually a Lockwood 530 core. Pre assa abloy when Lockwood were an independent Yale used Lockwood designed bodies and cores/bibles
Fairly early y300 i think i have one to secure my motorcycle cage its in the category of what would the locksmith have IMHO churrs LPP! Really like this video its short enough but not Too short and the content is really interesting (not a challenge lock or other contrived or ruined POS) very refreshing, again thankyou!
